I just had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Scott's Deli in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. The Reuben sandwich I ordered was hands down the best I've ever had and my wife, who's a vegetarian, couldn't stop talking about Jamie's fresh Avocado Tacos. The staff made us feel right at home, and to top it off, the owner even came out to chat with us. We enjoyed our lunch at one of their outdoor picnic tables. We topped off our lunch with a homemade cookie that was amazing as well. In our quest for an easy lunch on our way to the beach, we found Scott's Deli and it's quickly become a favorite. I split the Key Royale and Coquina with my husband and we really liked both! An excellent selection of preplanned offerings as well as build your own options galore. Most importantly was the service. We literally walked in as they were preparing to close up for the day, however we had no idea until I checked their website. This place gets five stars all around. The service was great. I ordered the Southwestern breakfast sandwich. To be honest this was probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Hot, fresh, and the flavors were amazing! I ate outside at one of the little tables. When I finished eating, Scott even came outside to ask how I liked the sandwich. I was truly blown away by the food and the service. I went back the next day and got the Chicken Bahn Mi Wrap. The wrap was very good, loved the cilantro and the sauce was good too. I also ordered some kind of giant cookie, salted chocolate chip or something like that, and omg, can I get a dozen more? Soooo good. This place is Amazing!. I am picky and my order came exactly as ordered. Hot club, toasted on white bread ,no tomatoes and the amount of meat was almost too much for me if it wasn't that I was starving and was craving a real good sandwich. Yum! Hot dogs! We were looking for a quick bite lunch on AMI and found Scott's deli. Went in looking for sandwiches (of which there are many, and delicious-looking), but we were lured in by the hot dogs. You can order at the counter for either dine-in or take out. Dine-in offers a few counter height stools both inside and out. There are two 2-top tables on the "porch" of the strip mall it is located in. Family run, our meals were delivered by the chef's mom who was beaming with pride at her son's successful business. Ordered a Chicago dog and the New York. Buns were amazing. Crusty on the outside, soft on the inside. The frank itself is big (probably 1/4lb). Toppings were plentiful. Each came with a dill spear on the side. We also ordered a side potato salad. It was a bit heavy on the mayo for my liking and the potatoes were a little crunchy. Drink options are canned sodas or beer. I'd definitely return for the dogs. And to try the sandwiches. read more
