I was having trouble getting my Nest Thermost connected to Wi-Fi and ended up calling Scottsdale Air for help. From the time they answered the phone, to the time Patrick left my house, they were so extremely accomodating!! I can't remember the name of the lady who answered the phone, but she was so kind and assured me that my problem would be addressed by end of day. Patric was the technician and he first apologized for being late. In addition, he was kind, courteous, and professional. It was a long day for him, but he work diligently and to fix the problem, which was a result of me switching internet providers. Technology is wonderful when it works, and I'm totally thankful to Patrick for figuring out the problem. I've worked with Scottsdale Air for almost 3 years and they have never disappointed. The installation happened after I had departed, but upon my return, everything was humming along with just a few hiccups. Jesse came out today for my annual check-up and once again, I was thoroughly impressed with Scottsdale Air Heating & Cooling's professionalism. Every time we have had a technician out, they have been on time, professionally dressed (clean, shirts tucked in, shoe covers), articulate and very thorough. I have learned more about how my heating and cooling system works than I have ever known, thanks to the pictures they take and the detailed explanations of what the part is and what it does. Hello neighbors, I wanted to post a warning to all of you who have rooftop a/c units - DO NOT USE SCOTTSDALE AIR. In April we were having trouble with the unit at our rental in Scottsdale. I contacted SA as we had been loyal customers for 14 years and bought several units and service contracts from them. I trusted their recommendation for a replacement unit which was bigger and more efficient (and apparently heavier) than the current unit and it was scheduled for install next day. Near the completion of the install, the installers felt the roof structure give way under the new unit. To keep this short(ish) I will just say that there were 4 severely broken rafters and SA accepted no responsibility for the damage, and tried to claim the rafters "were already like that". They ended up handing it over to their insurance carrier, CorVal, a few days later. After several weeks, I received a settlement offer from CorVal which was insulting. They said the offer was an effort to "keep the peace". They wanted to throw a few dollars at us so we would sign a statement releasing Scottsdale Air and CorVal from any and all liability. In May we decided we needed to involve our homeowners insurance Company, Travelers who will take our claim into subrogation with CorVal. We now have 2 engineering reports detailing the cause and extent of the damage. We are working with a restoration company who seems to have a good understanding of the proper repair method. Unfortunately, to do the repair properly the a/c unit needs to be disconnected, lifted off, and replaced after the completed repair. I assumed that Scottsdale Air would be willing to accommodate this request and help facilitate the repair of the damage they caused. We have heard nothing from them. It has been 4 months since this nightmare started and I am currently out of pocket several thousand dollars for my deductible, 4 mortgage payments on a house that I cannot rent, and zero income to offset any of it... and there's no end in sight. We will need to start from scratch to find a certified Trane contractor who can hopefully help us with removal and replacement. I will attach photos of the damage for extra emphasis on this warning. read more

Tech. Hector came into my home today. I requested an early morning appointment from Scottsdale Air due to the fact that my husband is in SNF - stroke and I see him in the morning everyday to get him up, etc. I called Scottsdale Air for a routine check up on the AC. They accommodated me with my request at short notice - Hector maintained the AC unit - explained everything he was going to do and even gave me a hug today when I needed on - at 77 years old - all this can be over whelming. I rarely write reviews like this, but Austin was FANTASTIC! Happily, our system, which isn't that old, was running very well and nothing out of the ordinary was needed, but Austin nevertheless was kindly willing to spend time to explain various things and to make sure we knew how best to maintain the system going forward. This company has changed since it was bought 5 years ago. They got aggressive in marketing and sales. They sport an Expensive $200+ yearly maintenance plan which gives you 2 "checkup". That means YOU pay for TWO sales opportunities. They will come out and recommend services rounding need. They installed our system 10 years ago (under the former owners) and today, they try to sell me an upgraded thermostat. This isn't needed but just a sales tactic. Then they try to sell you insulation. Now they are an insulation company? And if that isn't enough, hold on to your wallets. They want you to buy an air filtration system. We had a new Trane system installed 10 years ago. Today, a major component "TXV" failed about 3 weeks after the last "checkup", and past the 10 year warranty. Now they quoted $2200 to fix it and leaned towards installing a brand new system! I immediately cancelled our "maintenance plan". We had enough. . If you see the vast upselling techniques, follow my lead and cancel your membership! Get second and third opinions. read more

Great experience! (if you can call replacing your entire HVAC system "great") From scheduling to completion, all went smoothly and everyone who I interacted with was professional and friendly. First Eric, the inspector, arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection. He then reviewed his findings which included photos and explained my options. He educated me about the different systems but he did not pressure me to choose one over the other. Once I made a choice he was able to schedule the installation for 48 hours later. Josh and Angel showed up on time, ready to work! They thought it would take about 8 hours but they were done, including clean up, in 7 hours. They explained everything that was installed and showed me how to use the new thermostat. You can tell that they take pride in their work. I regret needing to post this as I was a loyal Scottsdale air customer for many years. Regular service, routine maintenance package etc. This year, they lost me. A salesperson arrived in addition to a maintenance tech and it just went downhill from there. My system that had been working fine and was well maintained suddenly needed costly repairs - so much so that I needed to not just to fix it but replace it? Sensing something not right I called Parker and Sons who confirmed my suspicions - providing pictures to ease my concerns relative to minor work that would keep my system running in the years to come. Another 3rd party confirmed that Scottsdale Air was not accurate in their assessment of what was needed. It got worse when I contacted a manager (Alex) who told me they would provide another year of service at no charge - but - the charge came through 2 days ago and my call has gone unreturned. I won't be using them again - even for free and would not recommend them. Also of note - try leaving a google review - you can't, they've turned them off. Appreciate Yelp being available to share the poor service. read more
