I was following maps to the auto repair shop and I made the huge misstep of coming to Scotty's brakes and muffs , I walked into their shop , nobody greeted me , these two men giving me dirty looks glaring at me , yelling at me going the wrong way , If you're a woman by yourself do not come here , bring your husband with you bc these old guys really dehumanize me , refusing to speak , only looking at me like some foreign alien from outer space , the disrespect was palpable and their refusal to SPEAK or treat me like a human being was obscene , if anyone would have been next to me they wouldn't have felt empowered to treat me like a weirdo , Trash customer service , women bring a man with you or they'll glare and roll their eyes at you and yell at your back on the way out , what a pair of toolbags ! Needed some new brakes for my Tacoma so I brought my truck in for a quote. The mechanic on hand, Joe, offered me a fast an easy estimate with my choice of either OEM or high quality aftermarket parts. I chose the latter and was able to save a significant amount of money over the OEM parts. Joe was able to get to work on my truck quickly and even rotated my tires and checked my rear brakes as well. There was no talk of upselling on unnecessary repairs like I've dealt with at many other shops. He replaced my brakes and rotors and I was on my way. I definitely will return to have my rear brakes changed when necessary. Hands down would recommend Joe to anyone looking for a friendly, honest, and knowledgeable mechanic! read more

Was looking for a local auto shop I could trust -- I knew from the first call that this is the one. I told them about another auto shop that recommended several things to fix for my car but they said I'm getting duped because that other shop is trying to make money. I really appreciated the honesty. I went to the shop to get my oil change as well as check for brakes and other things that could be fixed since I'm going on a long drive. They did the work within an hour. I'd say it's best to go here early in the morning on weekdays. I waited while my car was getting fixed and it seems like they knew their customers by name. I went back a week later since I accidentally ran over a piece of tire on the freeway, which left my shield guard open. They fixed it for me at no cost. They deserve every great review they get and I completely understand now why their customers keep coming back. Such loyalty! They earned another customer that will keep coming back to get my car fixed and maintained. Horrible and untrustworthy. A family member who's been coming here forever got their "timing chain" replaced for $1500. Took it to our further more trusted mechanic (for YEARS) shortly after the "work" had been completed and he said it's never been touched under the hood. No evidence of finger marks OR any fixing done, obviously still dirty with a very old chain. This shop has become extremely shady I've heard since Dave took over. I went early in the morning for my smog check and oil change and was out in about an hour for about $100. The folks working there are pleasant but straight to the point. I feel like they were honest with me and they even talked me out of buying something I wanted but they didn't think I needed. Have had my car serviced for oil and air filter change. Service was about 30-40 mins. They were communicative and kind. Recently, came back to get tire repaired from a nail/ring lodged into my tire for 2 days. Took them 15 min-20 mins. They were even kind enough to show me how to turn off the maintenance required light. Seems like they have customers who own classic or challenging cars to fix. Called in for a brake job estimate Thursday midday, possible rotor turning needed. Car was pulsating/vibrating/shaking when braking at high speed and beginning to happen at lower speeds. Got a low and high estimate. Reasonable, plus was assured it was a good time to drive in and not have to wait long. (I was ready to wait anyway, waiting for services like this takes time.) I was greeted right away by tech 1, told him what I needed, he remembered I called. He was really nice stopped what he was doing to greet me and drive my car in. A diff tech (tech 2) worked on my car, explained the situation with the front rotors: too thin, possibly warped, not worth getting machined. Front rotor and brakes were replaced. Front brakes work harder than rear on most cars. May need to replace once before having to replace rear brakes. I was out 30 min faster than expected. My experience was positive at this shop on my first visit. My first impression is they want to help, are friendly and upfront about costs. The owner thanked me for my business on the way out. I never really noticed this place, just drove by without giving it a second thought. read more

Dave was a great help with patching a tire from a nail on my husband's car and recommending a used tire place. Yes, both of us had a nail in our tires. I had a nail on the outskirts of one of my tires and needed a new tire. After explaining to him that I wanted an inexpensive new tire and planned to change all new 4 tires in the future, he directed me to 1 Stop Rebuilt & Exchange on Arden Drive and Valley Blvd. I was grateful for his honesty and tuning into the needs of his customers. While I was for hubby's tire to be patched, I overheard incoming customers referring him by his name. He was done in less than 10 minutes and the cost was very reasonable ($10). read more

These guys are great in their work and fair in pricing. I hit a hunk of metal on the freeway -- couldn't avoid it without collision or by getting off the highway safely. I made a Huge hole in my gas tank. They found a gas tank and got my car to me before they closed down for a holiday period. They also picked me up so that I could get my car before they closed down. Then months later when I brought the car back for servicing before taking a long road trip during the winter, they did everything needed for the car to go through cold weather safely. read more

I was recommended this place to come for anything car issue related by a friend. I went to check on Yelp to see what reviews were like and it looked pretty good. I was having issues with my brakes but wasn't sure if it was warped or worn out. I called asking for a quote and Scotty picked up the phone and gave me some option. Scotty was super friendly and told me that he can either shave the brakes a little so its even or replace if it's worn out. His pricing was really good considering Honda was going to charge me 3x the amount. I came early Friday morning and Scotty remembered that I called. We talked for a bit and he was a joy to talk to. He told me his nephew was going to work on my car and that he likes Honda cars. Scotty and his nephew told me that I won't need new rotors but instead they can shave it down to be as good as new and also change my pads. This was refreshing to hear because usually places like to upsell you on something more pricier. Me and his nephew had a good talk and he got my car taken care of. Everyone here is friendly which I like. With everything done it came out to be $175.00 which is a lot cheaper than elsewhere. Definitely consider this place.
