I have gone to this place for years and I would consider myself a regular at Scotties. They serve breakfast and lunch and close at 3pm. The food is OK and the price is fair. Nothing fancy just a breakfast to get your day started and cup of Joe. Lots of folks here that know each other and meet regularly for breakfast most of which sit at the large round table in the corner. I have had a burger here which was decent - I woke up late on a Saturday after a late night of drinking and it was just the right atmosphere I needed with a hangover. The service is fast and friendly. Scotties' has a huge selection of donuts and good coffee. If your going to bring donuts into the office I would definitely stop by and pick a couple dozen. I came to this spot yesterday morning because the boyfriend said "it's the best place to have breakfast at." So I came in hopefull. I ordered the BIG BIRD, which is 3 slices of french toast, eggs and bacon. Plus a good standard iced tea. The french toast was really really good, homemade tasting. I forget what my boyfriend ordered exactly but I know it was some sort of breakfast sandwhich. My bacon was not cripsy enough for me and the eggs I did not even want to eat because whoever plated my dish sprinkled cinnammon all over them, gross.This place is sort of like a dirty diner. I looked up and all I see is a dusty, dirty cobbed webbed ceiling. The lady who took our ordered sort of slapped down our recipet before we were even close to finish eating. I like this place. I came here when I was staying in Vallejo for a spell. Their corned beef hash was very good. I also had their " fire and smoke omelette which was delicious as well. Decided to try breakfast here on Saturday. I was not disappointed! Everything was delicious! I got the waffle and my husband got the pancakes and we also ordered the biscuits and gravy. The pancakes were so good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Waffles were good too! I ate the whole thing. The biscuits and gravy are very good also. Best breakfast place in town. I've been coming here for several years and i'm always satisfied with the food and service. The food is nothing spectacular as other people have stated but it's not why most of the regulars come here. For me, it's the friendly staff, the comfortable food, and cheap prices. They only accept cash which is kind of a bummer but for a Sunday breakfast for my family of 3, it's never more than $30 -- including tip. I've had almost every dish on the breakfast menu but I usually have the eggs benedict. The hollandaise sauce is tastier than some expensive restaurants that I've been to and it satisfies my benny fix. They also have donuts but i rarely ever have room for that. Decided to go here when another breakfast spot was rude. Awesome omelette, my son had the kids pancake meal and he ate every bite! He is a picky eater to say the least. It was very busy In there almost a line out the door when I went to pick my order up. However the waitresses were still friendly. The French toast was okay probably wouldn't order it again but that is personal preference. The down side is they do not take credit or debit and there is no flavored creamer for the coffee. very busy place thats been in the same location since 1937, starting out as a donut shop (which they still produce, but sadly they're just average). Cash only, but has an in-house ATM so you can spend to the limit...not that this place is expensive. Service, depending on who you get, is friendly and efficient, or in a hurry and order up willya but efficient. Food is...well, folks, just average. Its ok if you're in the neighborhood, and its obviously a popular place judging by the crowds, but it's hardly spectacular, and the coffee, while quickly refilled, isnt great either...try Joy of Eating instead for a better breakfast, especially in the bread, hashbrowns, and omelette categories. read more

I am minor league obsessed with this diner. Although the cash only policy and sodas in cans makes me a little batty the environment, service, and quality of food makes up for it. The food was pretty good what you would expect from a diner nothing too fancy there was lots of comfort food and it came out within 3 minutes! We were stopping on the way to Sacramento,so it was really convenient to come in and go as quick as we did. Very kid friendly the staff is super helpful and was chatting with the customers like old friends, for vegetarians tho there's only like one or two meals, but thats kind of two be expected with an old type of diner vibe. The restaurant looked pretty cozy on the inside, and service was pretty quick. However, I don't think I'll be coming here again. Call me frugal, but ~$6 for 3 hotcakes (and nothing else) is kind of ridic to me. The hotcakes were decent, but nothing special. Also, while looking in the menu I saw "Two Eggs $6.50." Now I don't know if this order includes anything else (someone please let me know if it does!), but if not, nothx. I could buy 60 eggs from Costco for that much =P read more

Perfect for off the beaten path breakfast. The donuts were so pillow soft and airy I had to stop myself. The breakfast was good and came out quick. Had the cheese, avocado, mushroom omelette. The eggs look like they had simply been spread out flat and the ingredients wrapped inside... No fluffiness at all. It was actually too cheesy for my taste (and American to boot...how about cheddar or jack?) and too much bacon as well. More of the well cooked mushrooms and ripe avocado would've really improved the omelette. Hash browns were completely unseasoned. Quite noisy as well...difficult to talk. Omelet was $12+. A greasy spoon without the grease! I ordered an omelet with mushroom, onion & tomato made with egg beaters. Yum! The onions and mushrooms were well-grilled before being put into the omelet, which was very well-crafted: folded around the fillings very neatly, like a present. Hash browns & sourdough toast were standard but good. Nice selection of hot sauces on the table. They boast 7 flavors of coffee, which I did not try, but I wonder if it is just a few coffee flavors and a lot more creamer flavors. Further research is required. read more

Cute little cafe! The servers are also very nice! The food comes fast basically every time! My boyfriend and I love going here for a quick breakfast! On slower days, I guess some of the workers feel very conversational and will talk to you endlessly... I wouldn't mind this if I was sitting by myself but when I'm trying to have a nice breakfast with my boyfriend, I really don't need to get complimented about my outfit every few minutes... this was just one occasion though; otherwise, scotty 's is the place to be! read more
