The new dinners are amazing . Every thing is fresh and made from scratch including super yummy soups. The cheeseburger special is a fantastic value. I really think we need to support this local treasure!!

Easy parking Easy seating- basically find a spot Fair diner atmosphere- a little upkeep for the shared items like menus would help and be appreciated I like the menu and honestly my hubby brought me breakfast from here last summer but yesterday was my first time eating in. It seems like a Vallejo staple, I believe I read since 1937. I definitely have an affinity for Nostalgic locations. I had a Jacks scramble with spinach and mushrooms, sourdough toast, and hash browns; one teen had French toast; other teen pancakes with sausage and eggs (she ate my hash browns). Filling food, nice service, and oh, CASH ONLY.

This place used to be a gem in Vallejo but no longer. It is under new ownership and has really gone downhill. We went a few weeks ago and the place was not clean and in great need of a remodel. Seats were torn and dirty. The tables, and bar stools were also worn. The service is ok if you can get the servers on a good day. Ours was a little grumpy and seemed put out when we requested extra napkins, fresh cream for coffee, etc. Their cream is on the tables in an old fashioned silver server that sits on the table all morning so if you go for a late breakfast it has been sitting there for almost 4 hours and it didn't smell good. Their sugar is also kept in a very dirty used glass server with a flip lid that is always crusted over and doesn't look very clean. Our food came out cold and the hash brown potatoes were almost raw. (See photo) Another problem for us is that the place is "cash only". There is an ATM inside the restaurant and you are referred to it by the servers in a very grumpy manner if you even give them the slightest protest about not being able to use your credit card. I witnessed this happening about 3 times while we were there when someone tried to just come in for donuts at the counter. Also beware that this area has a lot of homeless and they sometimes hang out around the restaurant. High crime area so keep your valuables out of sight if you go. End of an era due to new ownership. We won't be back.

Brunch with friends is always enjoyable. This time we met at Joy of Eating cafe. The location of…read morethe cafe is easy to miss even though it's located on the street. There is a dedicated parking lot, tight but can hold a decent amount of cars. There is street parking as well, not metered - that is where I parked. The hostess was extremely friendly and attentive, checking in on us several times after ordering to notify of the food's ETA as well as refilling drinks and seeing if we needed anything. The dining area has approximately ten booths in total and became quite crowded around 12:30p. Our meals arrived at different times, items to eat meal arrived sparsely as well. We ordered around 11:30a, there were two other parties present. We were able to order based on our dietary needs/wants as the menu offered quite a diverse array. The crab omelette (known as The California Omelette on the menu) is 1/4 lb of fresh crab served either hot or cold enclosed in three eggs along with avocado and Monterey Jack cheese. For $26.35 the omelette left much to be desired, especially in flavor and seasoning. Nothing complimented or even enhanced the presence of the crab in any way. The remaining party at the table said they enjoy their meal - including a blueberry waffle, toast and eggs with bacon and a double cheeseburger with fries. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to gather, this cafe is certainly an option to consider. It was easy to speak and hear each other with ample privacy and not a lot of traffic - if any.

I ordered the oxtails, rice and gravy and collard greens. The oxtails were mid. The were a little tight and light skinned meaning they needed to brown a little more. There was not enough gravy for the rice. The collard greens were mid also. Ambiance: The restaurant was nothing special but lets face it -- we dont go to black soul food restaurants for ambiance. We go for good food and Noonies disappointed for food. Service: The service was cool. Nothing special but a pleasant interaction. Parking: Decent parking in front of the building. Overall: It's cool! Not for me but might hit the spot for me. Also, I got my food shortly after they opened and perhaps some of the food was not fully cooked to its best. That said, again, not for me!

This would have easily been $60 in San Francisco, The latte art was a perfect heart and I can taste a perfectly pulled espresso shot. The nitro cold brew was fine with enough foam. I have a slightly different coffee taste palette so I won't deduct points based on my coffee note preference. The location is good with ample street parking and what looks to be a customer parking lot (I haven't confirmed). Fabrice did a nice job in selecting a historic Vallejo spot and bringing in French vibes. The coffee bar wall and mirror definitely looks like an original 1900's piece. The wood tables inside and the bistro chairs outside keep the modern cafe feel with a Parisian vibe. I'll definitely come back. Thank you Fabrice for being a long time Vallejo merchant and reviving downtown Vallejo with your cafe!

Sadly, All the workers were unfriendly and appeared miserable. No one was welcoming or smiling. I was taken aback when a coffee house ran out of brown sugar. Our Breakfast for 2 was $60. The waffles and pancakes were dense and undercooked, the pancakes had a bad taste to them a slight fishy taste, we had one bite and left the rest. The atmosphere has become untidy, cluttered, Christmas trees out in June, and the outside patio was not clean. I had high hopes for this neighborhood small business, but unfortunately will not patron them again.
