The environment is amazing, it's large enough to have private chats with friends, while cozy enough to hang out for a while. We were on the interstate and needed a coffee break. We try to shop at locally owned coffee shops if possible and this one was great! It is in an old house and has a lot of character. It was decked out in Harry Potter and Hogwarts decorations for Halloween. The person who greeted us was very friendly and helpful and the main reason we will be back if ever passing through. Thank you for being so patient and kind to us while trying to decide what to get. read more

Driving through the area and stopped in for an amazing coffee experience. The Ethiopian pour over was top notch and the cold brew was awesome as well. They use a roaster just up the road, but was told that they are going to consider roasting their own beans in the future. The design inside is an awesome mix of art and historical artifacts. Seating is comfortable and and the owner was nice and very passionate about good beans. I highly recommend! read more

We've enjoyed every drink we've tried, especially their seasonal drinks, and they have solid food options. The baristas are friendly and seem like they enjoy working there. Our first time to give Scouts a try. The staff was friendly but the good stopped there. With mouths watering for a breakfast burrito we were told we could not get one without cheese (lactose intolerant) as they were all pre-made. I have been drinking coffee mochas for years and until now had not been disappointed. There was little sweetness, a bitter aftertaste and could not taste the chocolate. Thankfully there are more choices around our little town of Blue Springs. read more

I recently moved to independence and was searching for a new coffee place. I actually found them when quarantine first hit and was so happy with it, I don't like going anywhere else! It's definitely out of my way when going to work but I still stop...I even have a coffee shop literally a block away and will come to Scout over that place any day. As if their coffee wasn't a good enough selling point, the pastries are BOMB. And to top it all off, I have never had an unfriendly encounter with any of the employees. Can't say enough good things about Scout! You guys are doing great. Oh and one more thing because I can't help myself. Their drinks are decadent but not overwhelmingly sweet...I usually have to half any type of "flavored" latte from other places...currently I am obsessed with their Salted Caramel Mocha...it's seriously the perfect amount of salt/caramel/mocha. This coffee shop is perfect in so many ways. 1) The coffee is gooooood. This is obviously a key factor. I had an americano and my friend had a vanilla latte, both of which we felt were some of the best we've ever had. 2) The location, space, and atmosphere make it the perfect place to have coffee with friends or to sit alone and work/ relax. There is plenty of seating, multiples rooms (so it won't feel too crowded or loud), and there is plenty of parking outside. 3) The owner Jared is kind, personable, and knowledgeable. Scout Coffee is a Blue Springs gem and I can't recommend it enough! Support local and give this new coffee shop a visit. read more

My husband and I went here for the first time this morning. Pleasantly surprised to see them brewing messenger and oddly correct coffee! Because of working in the city I've been spoiled with having easy access to great coffee. Happy to know I can get the same coffee just a few miles from my house. I went because I saw all the good reviews. The place is absolutely darling which is where my stars come from. I ordered a vanilla latte..the coffee itself had that sour flavor..I think they call it fruity..hated it..I really didn't taste any vanilla. I drove a little bit to get there so I would probably not do that again however if I was in the area I would try something else since the reviews are so good . I do think in the summer it would be an great place to go sit outside and have a drink. The place is so cute and comfortable. read more
