Out of nowhere, going through the tiny town of Cherryfield, there was the cheerful green building that is the Paisley Loon, with their "open" sign fluttering in the wind next to the river. And it was open at 3pm! It was the perfect spot to grab an iced coffee and a quick sandwich: I had the grilled cheese, which was exactly what I needed. It was busy, with other folks sitting at tables and working locals stopping by to grab things to go. There's a range of coffee drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and ice cream--nothing fancy, but all done just right. Super friendly staff working too. What a great find, and so good to know there's a friendly little place to stop when you're traveling this way. Highly recommend!

It was noontime and the lady inside seemed to be running things on her own, so it took her a few minutes to finish processing the orders of the 6 folks already waiting for their food before she could take our order. She handed us our little foil packets immediately after payment, so these rolls were obviously pre-made. Inside were some no-frills lobster rolls: untoasted rolls filled with chunks of lobster meat and mayo with paprika sprinkles; no celery, scallions, tarragon, etc. that we could detect. The roll was soft, and the lobster tasted fresh, though.

We had a couple of small things to ask about when we arrived (the trash/TV), but she answered quickly. The location was easy to find and even better than described, and the accommodations were clean, modern & updated, and well appointed. The views were stunning from our relaxing porch and upper balcony, the neighbors were friendly and welcoming, and "town" was just close enough to be very convenient. It was Saturday and apparently besides the slim pickings, everyone rolls up the sidewalk by 7 or 8 respectively so we went there by default, not design.
