One of a kind establishment. Something that you really should try. We were here 8 years ago and are back since we were nearby. So the wrinkles are carnivorous sea snails. They are pickled. The story goes that years ago as the fishermen were starving during a bad fishing season..., the locals survived on pickled wrinkles. This is likely the only place on the planet that serves this unique delicacy. Don't miss the chance to try it. The crab cakes are delicious too. The place is rustic so the ambiance is pure Maine. Folks are friendly and helpful. One of the most unique places in Maine. The owner is Jesse and a nice guy. Tell him the Hobbs from SC sent you.

Just happened to end up in the parking lot of the Picked Wrinkle, so we decided to go in and eat. What a great choice! The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! We love when we can go to a place to eat and talk to the locals and learn about the area. Leslie had some great recommendations for appetizers and meals and we greatly appreciated the great service and hospitality! We plan on going back during our stay.

Everything was good. Margaritas and pizza were great. Pickled wrinkle is a must try and then never again.

We stopped in hoping to get some seafood based on past yelp reviews and pictures. Their menu was definitely more Pub/American style as they mainly had pizza and burgers. They had a crab roll special and a crab cake special. We got the crab cakes. They were delicious but barely a small amount and was $27. We ended up down the road at Bunkers afterwards to actually get seafood and it was MUCH cheaper and very good. The local draft beer was good and they had a great selection . I would not go back if I came through town again unless I was looking for bar type food.

A regular stop on my way out of Schoodic Point. Never disappoints. Gave the $4 pickled wrinkle a try this time, a one and done for me! Left it in the napkin, but can say I tried it! The cheeseburger and cole slaw was delicious. Was kinda surprised we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked, but it came out medium well and I was ok with it! We skipped desserts and went to Ben & Me next door for ice cream

Amazing food. Amazing service. I'd drive back to eat here. Great selection of cider which is a bonus in my books. I had the black bean burger with the house salad. The blueberry balsamic was the bomb! I would go back for that alone. My son loved the crab cake sandwich. My BF loved his salad as well. Yes, we had a wrinkle. Yes, I would have more. Go there now!

My friends and I have some favorite places. Today we went to Schoodic Point. We ate a late lunch at The Pickled Wrinkle. I had their fresh haddock fish & chips - it was excellent! The blueberry cosmo was good also. Service is always friendly. It is a pub with outside setting in the summer; loved the license plates in the bar.

Just ate here for lunch and it was a delightful surprise. The servers were very friendly and don't mind providing recommendations if asked. Since it's almost Halloween, they had fun Halloween decor inside and outside. They had a cute candy station by the front door and cobwebs, skeletons, and purple lights hanging inside. I ordered the Wisconsin cheese turds as an app owns they were perfectly fried and cheesy. Don't sleep on these curds. For my entree, I got the Nautical burger with fries. It came with 100% natural Maine beef, sharp cheddar, bbq sauce ( My fave) , and crispy bacon. It was a delicious bbq burger and did not disappoint. I would definitely order this again. My friend got the black and blue salad which was also delicious and highly recommended. They have a full bar so you can pick your alcoholic beverage of choice. I ordered a blueberry margarita which was refreshing and not overly sweet like other flavored margaritas I've had in the past. My friend got the blue Cosmo and she gave it an 8 out of 10. All in all, a good spot for lunch and a drink with Downeast local vibes.

The water is served in a nice container (no its. Not vodka .

This is a great gem in Birch Harbor, Maine! The food is delicious, the ambience is quaint, and the Service is exceptional (ask for my friend Lucy.

Great place in Birch Harbor for lunch or dinner, or supper like we did! My friend has been stopping by regularly, but it was my first time. Lots of seating options, and friendly, prompt staff. We both opted for the bacon cheeseburger and a side of pickles. Curiosity had us inquiring about a quick appetizer as we were told there would be a little wait time. Pickled wrinkles was the suggestion, the name sake for the Restaurant. A local delicacy possibly, but oh my neither my friend nor I could eat them. It was a good thought, but no thanks. The food was delicious, as was my beer, a local draft.

    Be kind, and relax!

The wait time to get in was minimal and the food would have been worth a much longer wait. The Wisconsin cheese curd appetizer arrived in short order and quick work was made in finishing them off. The fresh local ground beef hamburgers were cooked to perfection as well as the accompanying fries. Plenty big enough with a nice portion of fries. The cream of the crop was their crab flat bread. Loaded with crab and melted cheese it was extra delicious. Definitely recommend this place for any park loop travelers and be sure to head next door for sone ice cream to finish off the meal! Also, stop to check out the old Rockefeller Navy Base built in the 1930's on Schoodic bay, now known as the Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park. Some really great history!

Really good! We got the crab cakes, steak tips and bacon burger. All were fantastic. The mashed potatoes that came with the steak tips were delicious!

We ordered the baked lobster dinner and while decent in taste of haddock stuffing in the baked whole lobster and size of it, it took entirely too long (35 minutes) , not because the kitchen was heavy on orders and lean on staff, it was audibly clear that there was way too much fooling around going on and not enough cooking. I worked in the oil and gas industry so cursing starts to become white noise to me, however, I felt uncomfortable for the elderly patrons and children present with all the F-bombs that were being announced from the kitchen and launched at the waitress. Clearly it is a favorite with locals (as evidence in the bar area) and I can see why with how great the servers/bartender are but the wait compounded by the inedible sides (a canned green bean, frozen veg mix with peppers that was intensely bitter and mashed potatoes that were clearly sitting in a warmer for too long just isn't worth a second trip. It was Saturday and apparently besides the slim pickings, everyone rolls up the sidewalk by 7 or 8 respectively so we went there by default, not design.

Big crowd slowed the service at first but the waitress apologized and made up for it with quick and pleasant service once she got to us. Food was really good. Crab Stew was the best crab soup we ever had; chock full with a ton af crab meat and a nice creamy, buttered broth. No potatoes. Lobster Risotto was baked in scallop shells topped with bread crumbs and was delicious. Regular menu included mussels as well as fried seafood and assorted burgers. A tall glass dessert case as you come in was very tempting but with soup, salad and Risotto we were filled to the gills. I wish we had the time to try it again this year.

This spot is cozy and quaint and full of friendly local staff members. It was Kentucky Derby day and a lot of folks we were watching it as we walked in, ambiance was jovial and loud. He is Jewish and loves Reubens, gets them all the time. He said this one was really, really good. Great texture to the meat. Now, my Chicken Sandwich - was the best I've ever had in my life. I told my husband, I will be holding any and all future chicken sandwiches up to this one as the benchmark. The breaded chicken breast was huge and delicious quality white meat. It was dipped in buffalo sauce, and had fresh slaw, pickles, tomato and blue cheese sauce. It was DECADENT and it really hit the spot for me after a long day. I could not stop eating it. YUMMMM. Oh, we also ordered the pub fries - loaded with aioli and cheese and greens. Fries were delish but a bit too much aioli for our taste. Still, wonderful! Huge portion. We came back the following night for a REAL treat... First of all, Tony was our server. What an absolute sweetheart!! He had nothing but fantastic recommendations for us. He was definitely not your standard "waiter". He spoke to us like we were regulars, which we appreciated, considering we were from Massachusetts. We ordered three of his suggestions: wings, fish and chips and the spicy margarita. Outside of what was recommended we also got the beer cheese and GIANT soft pretzel, bangers and mash and the creme brûlée. First off- this was my first time trying beer cheese, so I was beyond excited. I hate pretzels, however. Guess what?? They were BOTH SOOO GOOD!! The pretzel was the size of my giant head and was so soft & salty. It really paired well with the creamy beer cheese. I'd come back just for this appetizer every time. The wings too, actually! I was a little hesitant because I read the word "dill" on the menu but they really tasted more like Buffalo wings with a note of dill at the very end. I think I might be in love.... On to the main event! The Smithwick's beer battered fish and chips... WOW. It was a little different than I'm used to (which was a great thing in this case). The batter was thick and crispy (I'm used to thinner) and the haddock was super moist. Very fresh! I order this meal wherever I go and this is definitely in my top 3 (out of probably 50 others). I was hoping I could switch out the chips for fries because, well, I've never had traditional chips before! I must say I was pleasantly impressed though! They were the BEST and completed the dish perfectly. My fiancé had the bangers and mashed. He said it was good and very traditional. I did not indulge, so I can't relay that in my review. Last, we ended the meal with a MUST try....the creme brûlée. LEAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT! The top was a hard sugar coating while the rest was truly a creamy dream. I might have to stop back in JUST for this before I head back home! 5 stars. Definitely. 6 stars for service!!
