We both enjoyed our meals and the seafood was fresh, but food was barely luke warm. Service was excellent and clearly they've established a serious following. Breakfast was superb! Eggs bennie with a corned beef hash that I would order on its own next time, on a biscuit instead of muffin. Great combo. We stopped for lunch while on a ride along the coast. The lobster stew was creamy hot and delicious with plenty of tender lobster. The fish and chips were also delicious. Crispy fries with lightly breaded haddock were tender with no sign of grease. We topped it off by sharing a piece of graham cracker coconut pie. Get it with potatoes to cut the salt since there does not seem to be potatoes in it. Hash browns were finely shredded and I belive they came from Sysco package but they were properly prepared and went well with the hash. Poached eggs came in a little bowl and were perfectly cooked. Friendly place with a long wait on a Sunday. But very few options particularly coming from north. So we waited about 55 minutes. They took our number though so we walked around a bit and then waited in our car. We were seated at the counter finally. I got the corned beef hash. It was good but I like mine a little coarser. No complaints just a preference. The eggs were perfect but the hash browns were divine, we asked for them extra crispy for what it's worth. There's an option for home fries or hash browns. Beautiful family style restaurant. I didn't realize it, but it was 10 minuets before closing, when I asked if they were closing. The ladies said "no" and invited me in. The food was real good, and then and once my belly wasn't feeling hungry anymore, I went on Yelp to give them a thumbs up. That's when I realize they were closing at 2! Thank you ladies for being so pleasant and giving me such a warm welcome, along with wonderful service and great food. "You guys are the best!" I was able to rest and whined down before going to visit my mom in the nursing home down the road. I hope I'll be able to visit you again this week before I head back to Florida. My mother in law suggested we go to this restaurant on a Friday afternoon for some lunch. I found this quaint little restaurant to be a gem. There's not much to look at from the outside. There seemed to be ample parking spaces although not marked very well. As you come in, you'll find there's a small bar to sit at and some booths. Nothing fancy at all. They were pretty busy when we came in. We squeezed our way through to sit at the end of the counter. We were welcomed by one of the servers and given a menu. After overlooking the menu, I set my eyes on their Maine lobster roll. I was so excited I couldn't stay still in my seat. Until they told me they were out of lobster for the day. My heart wept. I was soooo disappointed. I went ahead and ordered the Crab roll and hubby ordered the haddock burger. He loved his haddock burger. It was huge. And the fries that came with it were delicious! Mine? I thought I was on camera.. I was handed a plate of spinach with tomatoes and a huge helping of crabmeat on top. Yes, it looked delicious, but not on a roll as I asked for. I just gave up. I actually thought the salad was delicious. It was served with Newman's Own balsamic vinaigrette. In conclusion, food was delicious. I was super bummed no lobster roll. I still can't get over the fact that they didn't have lobster on a weekday at 12 noon. Service was slow. The restaurant was beat up and could use a face lift. But I do appreciate that's all part of the Maine charm. I do love the historic pictures and Knick knacks places all over. read more

Slow, slow, slow...unless you're friends with the waitstaff! Stopped in for breakfast twice and waited over 30 minutes for simple eggs and bacon!!!! On my second visit the waitress took my order, visited with another table, took their order and visited some more, filled coffee and finally went to the kitchen. Five minutes later the 'friends' are getting served and my coffee is half full and cold. As I write this review it's been 40 minutes since I ordered and still no food. We were traveling and decided to try this place. Boy, I am glad we did. The Rosemary fries with the blueberry ketchup was out of this world. If I could have bought it by the gallon, I would have bought several to take home. For my main course, I ordered a cup of the crabmeat stew and a grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich was on a thick toast so it made a big sandwich. The crabmeat stew was fantastic. It was loaded with fresh crab. I regret that I ordered the cup of stew...I wish I had ordered the bowl! Yes, the crabmeat stew really was that good. The only downside I noticed while there is that the restrooms are not handicap accessible. There are two steps up to the restrooms and the ladies room was too small to accommodate any assistive devices. If I were local, I would be a regular at this place. Small town eats, good eats, greasy eats.. .just the way I like it. I like coming here for the coffee and bacon. You won't find Starbucks, Dunkins or any chains up these ways. Local is the way to eat and Milbridge House does it right. Quick service and nothing too fancy. Love this place. read more

Stopped for breakfast. Food was great, but don't be in a hurry, because the service was r-e-a-l-l-y slow. A half hour to get served a simple meal. But the food was good, sausage wasn't cooked beyond recognition, what should have been hot was hot, and what should have been cold was cold. It was just slow getting to us. Really slow. read more

We stopped in here for breakfast. It is on the smaller size. But not terribly busy. So we had no problem with seating. I ordered eggs over very easy. And they were cooked perfectly. I also ordered my bacon crispy. And it was. There was one of the three pieces that bordered on too well done. But still edible. I also got home fries that were nicely cooked. They didn't have any seasoning on them. So I put salt & pepper on them. And that was fine. I also ordered 1 pancake with my breakfast. It was huge. Like dinner plate size. I could only eat half of it. My husband ordered the hash & cheese omelette. There was a good amount of hash & cheese in it. The hash was very tasty. It came with toast and home fries. And they were good two. The prices are very reasonable. And the staff is pleasant. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because the food took about 35 minutes to come out. Tough experience this morning. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and waited for my breakfast while people that have come in behind me have been served. I'm guessing because I am not a regular, news flash folks I'm from Addison and lived in Maine my entire life. It saddens me that people make a judgement based on god knows what. Recently had breakfast there for the third time this summer. Their omelets, hash browns, eggs benedict, homemade breads and coffee have all been very good as has the friendly and efficient service. Their homemade hash is the real deal . It is very meaty with no potatoes in it so you can order it with the hash browns and not get a starchy carbo overload. The only recommendation I would have is stop serving the prepackaged jams and jellies and offer a choice of jams in a small cup. read more
