We had the fish and chips, and they were fresh and light. Included an updated menu, because the one that is currently listed online is not even close to being correct. They said they haven't served Lobster rolls or soup for years.

Great service, everyone is nice. Breakfast is wonderful. Lobster stew was the best I've ever had. Homemade pies and donuts. Oh, and marble rye is a toast option! Swoon!

Beautiful family style restaurant. I didn't realize it, but it was 10 minuets before closing, when I asked if they were closing. The ladies said "no" and invited me in. The food was real good, and then and once my belly wasn't feeling hungry anymore, I went on Yelp to give them a thumbs up. That's when I realize they were closing at 2! Thank you ladies for being so pleasant and giving me such a warm welcome, along with wonderful service and great food. "You guys are the best!" I was able to rest and whined down before going to visit my mom in the nursing home down the road. I hope I'll be able to visit you again this week before I head back to Florida. Thanks again for your sincere kindness!

My mother in law suggested we go to this restaurant on a Friday afternoon for some lunch. I found this quaint little restaurant to be a gem. There's not much to look at from the outside. There seemed to be ample parking spaces although not marked very well. As you come in, you'll find there's a small bar to sit at and some booths. Nothing fancy at all. They were pretty busy when we came in. We squeezed our way through to sit at the end of the counter. We were welcomed by one of the servers and given a menu. After overlooking the menu, I set my eyes on their Maine lobster roll. I was so excited I couldn't stay still in my seat. Until they told me they were out of lobster for the day. My heart wept. I was soooo disappointed. I went ahead and ordered the Crab roll and hubby ordered the haddock burger. He loved his haddock burger. It was huge. And the fries that came with it were delicious! Mine? I thought I was on camera.. I was handed a plate of spinach with tomatoes and a huge helping of crabmeat on top. Yes, it looked delicious, but not on a roll as I asked for. I just gave up. I actually thought the salad was delicious. It was served with Newman's Own balsamic vinaigrette. In conclusion, food was delicious. I was super bummed no lobster roll. I still can't get over the fact that they didn't have lobster on a weekday at 12 noon. Service was slow. The restaurant was beat up and could use a face lift. But I do appreciate that's all part of the Maine charm. I do love the historic pictures and Knick knacks places all over.

Excellent breakfast. Super friendly staff. We were from out of town, looking for a good breakfast spot. And we found it.

We ordered the baked lobster dinner and while decent in taste of haddock stuffing in the baked whole lobster and size of it, it took entirely too long (35 minutes) , not because the kitchen was heavy on orders and lean on staff, it was audibly clear that there was way too much fooling around going on and not enough cooking. I worked in the oil and gas industry so cursing starts to become white noise to me, however, I felt uncomfortable for the elderly patrons and children present with all the F-bombs that were being announced from the kitchen and launched at the waitress. Clearly it is a favorite with locals (as evidence in the bar area) and I can see why with how great the servers/bartender are but the wait compounded by the inedible sides (a canned green bean, frozen veg mix with peppers that was intensely bitter and mashed potatoes that were clearly sitting in a warmer for too long just isn't worth a second trip. It was Saturday and apparently besides the slim pickings, everyone rolls up the sidewalk by 7 or 8 respectively so we went there by default, not design.

Big crowd slowed the service at first but the waitress apologized and made up for it with quick and pleasant service once she got to us. Food was really good. Crab Stew was the best crab soup we ever had; chock full with a ton af crab meat and a nice creamy, buttered broth. No potatoes. Lobster Risotto was baked in scallop shells topped with bread crumbs and was delicious. Regular menu included mussels as well as fried seafood and assorted burgers. A tall glass dessert case as you come in was very tempting but with soup, salad and Risotto we were filled to the gills. I wish we had the time to try it again this year.

Everyone who lives around here recommended this very authentic and very local seafood restaurant…read more We ordered steamed mussels and thinly cut onion rings, which seems to be a "local" thing (the thin cut part) for appetizers, and I had the fried belly clams for dinner, which came with fries or mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The joint was packed, and parking was somewhat of an issue, but that's also a good sign... right? The inside is straight out of casting for a seafood joint at a fishing town, except that this was all "real" and not decorated. Oh yeah... the food? Generous portions and Mainedelicious!

Upgraded tables, expanded back area is great on terrific "downeast summer days". But the menu has shifted to "selling" more alcohol... pages of alcohol... and shrinking the food offerings to near "after thought"... it's not an attractive look. The help is still friendly. But our fried clam meals seemed meager... lacking in plump bellies... and the fries and onion rings glistened with grease. The managerial decisions feel "higher profit" motivated... Why not master a few great dishes and then rest on those laurels? You have a terrific harbor view... but the food should rise to that level.
