We booked the deluxe package for our son's bd. Everything went fine and they had fun. However you must double and triple check the contract and the frequently asked questions the day before the party because they will 100% enforce it, no matter how ridiculous it seems. We were asked to pay an additional $60 for the 3 balloons that the 3-4 year old accidentally let float onto the empty ceiling. For how much this party ended up costing (the package plus the adult food that must be ordered from scramble) customer service must be better. This incident left a sour taste in our mouth and we will never book another party at scramble again. read more

Really unfortunate that this place advertises as a fun and inclusive family activity. The attendant at the front area did not honor a group (pre-paid) entrance. Less of an issue but I think the fact they charge for adults supervising, although 99% do not enter into the activities, is interesting. My 2 year old had so much fun here! There's so much to do. A huge playground, a smaller play area with huge Velcro pillow things to play with and fun themed rooms (a vet and a coffee shop for example) They had a huge soccer area also and tons of foam blocks. ScrAmble is such a great place for kids. My little girl (3) has such a great time and is playing the whole time. The food that they serve is relatively health and reasonably price (Carrots, hummus, apples, pizza, salad, sandwiches, pouches, crackers, juices,et ) It is pretty crowders in the morning but in the afternoon it seems to be not really busy at all. Happiness - 4/5 Worth-the-price-ness - 2.5/5 Let's get the bad out of the way first (but as this is a 4-star review, there's plenty of good). This place is pretty damned expensive. About $20 on a weekend... per kid. And it's not like there is so much to do that you're there all day. The registration also takes a long time and is confusing. We stayed about 2 hours and were definitely ready to go. That said, this is a pretty cool play area. They have a massive two-story play structure that is the highlight. It is themed after different places (France, Egypt, the UK, outer space) so each area has a distinct design and something different to offer. I particularly liked that there was a hidden passage in the Egypt section. They also have a phenomenal slide that even the parents (and my son's grandma) were going down for fun. And it is parent-friendly, plenty of parents (yours truly included) were playing right along side their kids and using all the obstacles.The play area is definitely geared towards kids 4-10. Fortunately for those with littler tykes, they also have numerous smaller areas for the younger ones to play in, and even an area just for kids who crawl. Needless to say, you are fully covered for entertainment options from toddler to 10. There is also an area that just has giant puzzle pieces and soccer balls. I particularly enjoyed their bookstore with books from Usborne. I think Usborne does a great job with books and it was nice to have a huge selection there. There was a very tiny café, but I didn't see anybody use it. There is also a large seating area where alot of parents just parked and used their phones. The other downside is that the staff are not looking out for the kids. I caught one toddler pretty much exiting the play area all on his own. Yes, it's the parent's job to make sure their kid isn't wandering out to the street, but you'd think that they'd have a more child-proof gate or an employee at the exit to make sure none of the rugrats get out. It took us about 10 minutes to find a staffer to give the child to! So, make sure you're keeping an eye out if you have really young ones there. Also, no video games at all. This place is awesome! My wife and I brought our son to Scramble, and let me tell you, my mind is still blown! The indoor play place reminds me of the old t.v. show Legends of the Hidden Temple. My son enjoyed all areas of play, which include an area for toddlers, an area for bigger children and an open area in the back as well! There is an expansive menu with vegetarian options, and a cafe. The piece de resistance, a book cove where plenty of wonder titles are up for grabs to purchase! Great for birthday parties and day plays! Plus clean and friendly staff make it just 5/5 stars all around! My son had birthday party at this location over the weekend and I would not recommend having a party at scramble. 15 minutes before the party started the staff insisted that they take a picture of my Id and my credit card using an iPad. When I asked why they mentioned that their insurance policy requires that they have a copy. I had paid for the party in full and signed a contract so I wasn't sure why this would be a standard practice. In my opinion having a picture with a person credit card number and photo ID can lead to fraud. When I got to the party room we had 3 small tables for a party of 36 people when I asked for an additional table I was told it would be $25. So just a suggestion on customer service training: I tried to order a pizza but was told they are not taken hot food orders because they need to prep pizza for a party. I waited patiently to see when orders will be taken for hot food again and when I saw a pizza on the counter I tried to order a pizza again and now told they are not taking any more orders for hot food at all. Maybe they should have taken my order originally and just put my pizza in after the party food was done. Great spot to tire kids out! The place is clean and has play area designated by ages. Sometimes big kids enter baby area which could be dangerous but staff came once in a while to remind everyone. Half of the floor is hardwood, which is very slippery with socks on for kids, but half is padded. You must remember to wear socks. I like how they require everyone to take off shoes to keep the place clean. When I went it was VERY crowded and overwhelming on a Saturday afternoon. I wish they don't charge extra for second adult because it's really a children's place. I also wish there are more diaper changing tables. Parking can also be hard to find since that complex has so many cars. There are simple foods and drinks (including wine and beer) for all ages. Located in an industrial warehouse area in Alexandria, Scramble is a wonderland for kids of all ages. Whether you are a crawler, walker, or runner it has a little bit of something for everyone to explore. I went with a few friends with kids aged two and under so the majority of our time was spent in the soft play area set. My daughter had so much fun crawling over the blocks and exploring the different neighborhood areas that include a coffee shop, grocery store, veterinarian and auto body shop. In addition there is a bigger play area that looks like a fun house at a carnival and a big open area in the back where kids can just run around and play soccer. They have a small cafe selling snacks and coffee which was great and they offer high chairs in case your child needs a proper meal. A few complaints: + A group of parents took it upon themselves to take over a portion of the soft play area and blocade the area with their bodies by sitting out and splaying out with their coffee making it an unwelcome place for other kids outside their group to play climb up the slide. There were several Scramble attendants walking around monitoring the area and it would have been nice for them to say something instead of me having to awkwardly inserting myself into the situation so my daughter could play. + Admission includes the price of one parent so I had to pay for my husband to come in as well. It definitely seemed like they were nickle and diming us since all we were doing was watching our daughter play and then spending even more money at their cafe for coffee and snacks for us. + There have a new payment system where they take your fingerprint which I find completely invasive. Tried it during a recent snow day when daycare was closed with a 2 and 5-year old. They had a blast. Have frequented other soft playrooms but this one hit all the marks. Exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Very large and spacious. Usually, we have only encountered larger playrooms way-way out (e.g. Chantilly or Dulles). This playroom being closer in toward DC was a bonus based upon where I live in NoVA. Play areas accommodated both ages. Usually, one gets stiffed. Either the playroom skews younger and the 5-year old is bored, or the playroom skews older and the 2-year old cannot handle the bigger stuff (e.g. bounce houses and climbing walls). Here everyone did essentially everything. The fact that the maze/jungle gym is large enough for an adult to walk around in was a bonus. I am 6'6" and more than once I have had to crawl through similar contraptions to help my kid when they have gotten stuck (e.g. unable to climb up a ramp, but unable to backtrack). Two minor quibbles. They offer an annual membership but not a multiple pass punchcard. Just uncertain the regularity that I would be going due to other activities and commitments which makes an annual membership an iffy proposition. The food menu appears very healthy. However, it would be nice to have a couple of go-to items on the menu (e.g. hot dogs or chicken nuggets) that every kid is willing to eat even if unhealthy. My kids were finicky that day, so I ended up eating the lunches that they refused. At least, I enjoyed the flatbread pizza. read more

The FUN level is no question...5 stars. What I can't get over is the stale, rotten cheese, feet smell. It was thick, and difficult to take a deep breath. I thought it was one of those "you'll get used to it" things. No no...never did, and as we made our way back to the front (where everyone's shoe's are stored) it got so much worse again. My shoes were 100% contributing, but can we get some circulation??? This place is AMAZING!!! I absolutely love it. It is so much better than any competitor I have been to with my kids so far... flight trampoline park, kid junction, monkey Joe's, Chuck E. Cheese, etc. can't compete. Not even the Children's museums which we love. This is 100% our new go-to play place. For kids of ALL AGES. There is a fully padded, enclosed, engaging toddler/baby zone with a double slide, tunnel/cave area to crawl in, mats to crawl up and down on and padded pretend play rooms all along the left wall. This alone would have been worth the visit. My toddler would have stayed all day. It is by far superior to ANY younger kid play area at any of the other places we have visited! Then comes the big kid area. There aren't a lot of good pictures to do it justice right now and we almost didn't come here because the pics I saw made it look like it was mainly just the large slides. No way! It is a massive, wonderful, climbing, crawling and exploring zone with educational themed areas from the secret hidden mummy room to the outer space area with giant foam ball "planets" to climb and roll around on and much much MUCH more! As an adult I was enchanted. It was so much fun. I spent three hours there with my almost four year-old. Most parents can easily get around in there too so that's another plus. There is also a wide open matted area with balls and goals, Giant Tetris-like blocks and other activities. There is even a book store here too! The cafe is also far superior to the pizza and chicken tender options of most places... they have pizza but also healthier options like apple sauce and fresh fruit cups, coffee for the parents and fun sweet treats like cake pops. The place was pretty crowded but there were still plenty of tables so seating wasn't a problem. The only thing I would say they could improve would be to add a couple more stalls to the main bathroom... there were only two so we had to wait and with all the potty training kids plus pregnant ladies that's asking for an accident! The parking situation is also NOT great. Finally, be sure to bring socks for kids AND parents (we had to pay $3 per pair for our socks). We found out about this place from a friend who had fun with his kid here. I yelped it and it happened to be around our area, so I definitely wanted to check it out with Jumpy. We came on a weekday and they happen to be half off on these days. This place is pretty huge, which works out since we have an Energizer Bunny for a kid. Filled out their waiver for us and paid $10 and he was ready to go. They have play sections for babies, and a jungle gym/ball playing area for the bigger kids. The play areas, bathrooms and seating area we're clean and the staff was courteous. We spent 2.5 hours here, but could have easily done more, and probably will when we go back. This is a great option to keep things interesting for your kid and having then burn off all that energy. read more

There are a couple of places you can go to let your little ones loose and burn off some energy. Scramble is by far my favorite place to do that. Its clean, I can always find a place to park and they serve food. I attribute my sons mental and physical development to this place. That may seem like a big statement but its true. My father used to bring my son here at least 3 times a week before he would really walk or speed crawl. It helped him develop social skills to be around other babies his age. We saw him move from section to section problem solving and maneuvering around the mini obstacles. He is 14 months now and is able to run around with the best of them. Being a big kid at heart myself, I too enjoy my time here. The slide is the business and the lemonade is good (depending on who makes it). You can stay ALL DAY, and come back at no additional charge. There is also a discount on the second kid. They have a bookstore. If you buy a book, you get free admission or something to that nature on Tuesdays. I also had my sons first birthday here. A little pricey but very on par with other kids play places. I had no idea a kids party could run you $300+ but it was well worth the money and not having to clean up in the end. We are so happy that we decided to try Scramble! We went for the first time this week and ended up going back THREE times because my 3 year old loved it so much. It was honestly all he could talk about! You can't reserve a spot beforehand but most times, you shouldn't have an issue capacity wise (unless school is closed which can make it crazy). The space is somewhat difficult to find directions-wise because there isn't signage on the pylon sign so make sure to keep an eye out. I had been to a Dance studio in this area before so I was somewhat aware. The Scramble plays pace itself is HUGE though and totally awesome. There's so much to do there and my son has spent 3+ hours there without getting bored unlike Basic Play (45 min tops), Busy Bee's (1 1/2 hours tops) and even the Nook (2 hours tops). Plus during the week, it's only $10/child which is cheaper than busy bee's and the Nook! During the weekends it is $20/child but that's totally understandable due to the volume. My son LOVES the slides and all the different activities. My nanny even said she likes it better than the other indoor playgrounds. They have a little snack/cafe area and Wi-Fi if you want to hang out and do work there. Trust me, you and your child will love how fun Scramble is! It's the perfect place to let the kids run out all their energy on those super cold or hot days! We are officially huge fans and can't recommend it enough! read more

Lawrence (manager) is very approachable and willing to explain the waiver and admission process to first time guests. We opted for an annual membership which was quoted as $400 for two adults and one child ($33 per month). If you plan on visiting once a week like we are it makes sense. The obstacles and slides were in very good condition and the premises was very well kept and clean. Adults were courteous and well mannered which makes things a little easier when you're chasing after littles ones. Scramble is so cute ! I took my son on a Friday morning and it was perfect, not too crowded and he had a blast. We stayed for 3 hrs and he did not want to leave. I love that they have a snack bar and Book store section. I love that parents are able to interact and be with the children on the equipment as well! We will deff be back. Only con I would have to say (and this is bc I'm germ crazy to a degree ) is the fact that the bathrooms are on the side where we wear no shoes. We loved scramble pre-Covid and went often (we did avoid during flu season as we always got sick after going). This review is for fall 2021. No masks are required. Most kids were not wearing them. The tables and areas were not being cleaned. There's a thread on my local Mom's page and someone said the bathrooms were disgusting. Every single person expressed concern over mask policy and cleanliness. Love that there's tables to eat a snack at and even a cafe if you forgot food of your own. The downside was a couple kids that kept almost falling on top of the babies and the parents were nowhere in sight to watch.: I guess they might have been busy?? But it was annoying for me to keep asking someone's kid to be careful and watch out for the younger kids. Love everything about Scramble. We are there several times a months. They have areas for play from crawlers to runners. The book store has some great selections. Facilities is constantly clean. Love the family friendly bathrooms. The availability of snacks and common kid friendly meals is awesome. I'm very appreciative that we have this indoor playground for kids to play in the winter. Parents need to keep an eye on your child(ren) at all time for their own safety as well as the safety of other kids. I once saw a baby girl (a toddler) lost contact with her mom at Scramble & cried her heart out. As it turns out, mom was playing on her cellphone instead of watching her daughter! Few things that can be done better: - Please replace some of the really old, beatup toys. Some of them are dirty or dirty looking. - The big glass window in the back room has a huge crack across; however the staff said they knew about it for a few months; just haven't done anything about it. - Wearing socks to the restroom give me chills; there are urine drippings all over the place. My husband and I took our 15 month old daughter here for the first time for a play date and she had a blast! We had to take our shoes off before entering the play area, so I would definitely recommend to wear/bring socks. There was a "bar" for the parents and plenty of tables to sit in while the little ones play. They also sell snacks and drinks for the kids. The facility in general was kept clean, and every table had a bottle of hand sanitizer which was great. My nephew and I had a great time here today! After visiting another local indoor playground, we really loved this environment. The place itself is very clean; which is something that is so important to me personally, and I was pleased with it! There are tons of places for toddlers to roam around wild (yet safely) and I must admit, I think I had more fun than my nephew. Parents were very vigilant with their kids, and everyone was absolutely friendly. This place doesn't even compare to Flight, Chuck E. Cheese, and Busy Bees. Entertaining kids during the winter months can be a bit challenging, but knowing that a place like this exists really makes it a bit easier for families.
