I mean truly clean and well-put-together amid this pandemic! Hand sanitizer on every table. A team member walking around wiping down high-touch surfaces. Reservations are a must at this point, to ensure the ability for social distancing. Mask requirements for adults. All the hallmarks of a business who cares about their customers' health! The owner (a lovely British man) was so warm and friendly, very knowledgeable, and thoughtful as to how he configured the play areas. The admission prices are so pocketbook-friendly. What a great value and great time we had at Scramble. We will definitely be going back with regularity. The play areas are bright, clean, spacious, colorful and full of soft-play for little ones. I highly, highly, recommend! I'm in love with this place and so is my son. It looks like one of those fabulous indoor play spaces that Blippi goes to. My two year old absolutely loves this place. He comes here quite often with his dad, and I've taken him here once on a weekday when I had a day off. It's half the price on the weekday ($10 and that includes 1 parent) It's really clean, and the staff is always sanitizing the toys/indoor playground area, which is a HUGE plus! They also host birthday events which I am planning to do for my son this year. The indoor play ground is a soft playground, so unless another child is running and bumps into your child, it's fairly safe. I typically follow my child around just because I'm a little overprotective of him and his clumsiness, but I've seen other parents let their children roam free. To each their own! I knew that it probably was going to be popular on a cold rainy weekend but it was a absolute zoo! It was super crowded (we arrived at 2pm) and the majority of kids do not wear masks (even some adults not in the eating section weren't wearing their mask). Some of the kids were really rough housing around smaller children with what seemed like lack of parental supervision. My son wore his mask the whole time and basically stayed where it was less chaotic so we were comfortable with the situation. For anyone with COVID-19 concerns, this may not be the place for you. My son is a little over 2 so I got a little nervous when he went to the bigger kid area because parents can't enter that section. The older kids were pretty energetic but you can view inside on parts of the lower tamer sections. All in all, my son had a really good time but I don't think I would return. It was $19 for my son and two adults on a weekend for 2 hours (no one enforces the time - another reason it probably gets crowded as the day goes on). I like Kids Ground and the Little Towns Children Museum so much better. read more

We had a birthday party yesterday in Scramble. It was really wonderful. I recommend it to all. Plenty of spaced with different types of play stuffs for all ages. Children had a lot of fun. About party room , it was very cleane and organised.The pizza, Sandwiches, Fruits and especially cake was really yammy with a great quality. The price of cake was affordable with a large size, our guessts were about 50,but about half of the cake remains after serving. The staffs teem were very polite and helpful. There are some really great elements to this play area... I like the play area itself which has good variety for kids of a good mix of ages... the cute little bookstore... the cafe has a lot of options... the "pay with your fingerprint" feature after providing your credit card your first time there... If I had two critiques, one would be the price... there's a similar play area with a few less amenities a little further way (okay, a solid distance) that is half the price... $20 / kid is steep to hope your kids last at least an hour, ideally two, entertained in this place... it's nice that there are times where it's unlimited how long you stay but honestly I'd rather pay $10 / kid for max 2 hours as with the other place like this Second critique would be the doors in the back... I know it wasn't possible to get in through them from the outside but it seemed like they did open from the inside so even with staff members circling pretty regularly I still felt the need to keep the doors in eye view... My 2 year old loved it. There is also a section for infants and so I took my 10 month old as well. My 10 month enjoyed it just as much as my 2 year old. Kids can climb around on the play structure and there is also a place in the back where kids can kick around a ball or play with soft blocks. Great place. Just don't go on a snowy Saturday. Extremely crowded! I've read that it's crowded often due to the popularity, so I really wish they would expand the place to accommodate more. read more

Update: My daughters had their birthday here and it was one of the best birthdays we've ever done. I say, "we," but there really wasn't much that I had to do. Laurence was in constant communication with me during the planning process. A majority of my guests filled out their waivers prior to coming so once the kids arrived, they were able to play. We had an attendant who took care of the gifts. Then we opted for pizza and a veggie platter which worked out well for kids who played their hearts out for the last hour. Everyone enjoyed their time here so much. The staff was all very pleasant, the environment was clean and everyone left happy. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

As you can probably gather from other reviews, this place is not cheap by any means. But is a great large indoor play area with a ton of options for the kids. We had a hard time getting our daughter to leave until she was basically dead tired. From a whole variety of smaller sized play areas with climbing structures and all kinds of foam blocks to the big open play area in back, she had a blast. But her favorite was the big climbing gym with the fast long slides. So many places to climb and explore for her, but she always ended up bouncing down the big slide at the end. I appreciate how clean they seemed to keep the place too. Great place to go when its too cold or raining outside. read more

This place is utter trash and completely homophobic. When my husband accidently booked our son for a half-day camp online, he IMMEDIATELY called to cancel the booking. We had to; I am on the CDC High-Risk list for Covid-19 and there is no way we can allow our son to participate. My husband's booking was inadvertent, as he thought he was getting more information. When he was unable to reach anyone by phone, he immediately sent an email. In short, the business told us to go pound sand as they had a non-refund policy, regardless of situation. We tried escalating, but the "summer camp" manager refused to let the situation escalate. Aside from cost of $75 for basically 4 hours of play, the summer camp's manager's behavior on the phone, when I finally spoke to her was abysmal and homophobic. Taunting our "lifestyle" and refusing to acknowledge that our son was indeed our son. Needless to say, we will not be doing business with them again. read more

I was thinking this would be a place where I could work (on my computer) while my child played and I could glance over every once in awhile to make sure they were ok. With the set-up of the tables and closed-off nature of the play area for 5+ this was impossible. I was constantly interrupted to get up and check on my little one. On the business website the area for 5+ is well lit. In reality, the picture posted here is more accurate. It is black box. If you come here be prepared to twiddle your thumbs and walk around a black rectangle. We stayed for 2 hours and I got maybe 15 minutes of work done. It is cool that one payment allows play all day (if they're not busy) but $10 seemed too much for me (on a weekday) for what it is. $20 - on a weekend - is laughable. read more

For the DC metro area, this play space for kids is certainly one of the best I have come across. Our family randomly came across this place on a yelp search and it happened to be the first day they were open. Fortunate find! Our 2 year old had so much fun running around and engaging with the different types of activities and spaces. The quality of the play equipment is top notch and you will be pleasantly surprised with it! The big slide they have there is fun even for the adults, but be careful because it is quite slick and could potentially be dangerous if you're not careful! You will see what I mean if you go haha. I think I may have enjoyed this place more than my little one, but that is beside the point! There is a cafe there for refreshments and there is also a reading space. If your child needs to wind down, take a break, or you just want to engage in some reading, there is a space with beanbags and chairs for you to enjoy a book with your child. They have Usborne books and we have LOVED their books for a while now! If you have never heard of Usborne books or never seen them, you are missing out! Their books are very high quality and do a wonderful job of making reading fun in various ways. In my humble opinion, there is no book company at their level right now. There is a space intended for children who are crawling and a space for children who are walkers, but may not run around and climb on larger equipment. I had a conversation with the owner (I believe his name is Lawrence) and he very intentionally laid out the entire space to make play very fun/imaginative for the children and not overstimulating (very important). He is a kind gentleman and has background/knowledge in child psychology/play. The admissions fee for the day will cover the entire day, so you could utilize the play space more than once in a day. Some may think the admission is a bit on the expensive side (and I would agree if you just look at the dollar amount), but if you consider the quality of play that your children will get, you are paying for what you get. Since there is nothing like it in the area, I think the price is reasonable. Hope your children enjoy the space as much as ours did! read more

I like this place very much but there is a catch though. I hope they sanitize the place very well after every operation especially where the infants and toddlers area. I saw some adult hair on the floor but it didn't really bother me. I should have known better. Now, my son is paying the price. Brought my son here last Friday the next day he is burning up with a 102 fever. Went to pediatrician on Monday to make sure he didn't get any serious problem. Turns out, he catch the Hands, mouth and feet virus.. this was the only new place we went and I'm 100% sure he got it from here. Though, I'm not blaming the establishment but I just want to inform the management that routinely sanitation of the place must be implemented. I don't know how but maybe make a policy or rules like every 2-3 hours of the operation, someone will sanitize the area and lavatory for kids to wash their hands.. make some "wash your hand signs" I guess. read more

Was looking for an indoor play area for my toddler and ran across this! Relocated back to the area from LA, where there was obviously tons of outdoor (and free!) resources. Check in was a breeze and might I suggest to fill out the online waiver prior to coming. It's $10 for all day play during the week, but I think your little one is running on empty by the second hour. I believe two adults max are free with admission. Plenty of storage bins available throughout. There's a huge jungle gym-type area where your kids can climb, hop, crawl and explore and have foam stations along the walls. There's a station where they serve coffee/hot cocoa, cupcakes, bagels w/ cream cheese, applesauce packs and such. All priced reasonably! Also, kudos to clean bathrooms and friendly staff! Area for eating is well-kept and high chairs are provided, if needed. One star off because I wish there were more hand sanitizing stations and if only served personal pan pizza, chicken fingers, etc. as snacks or something to hold over until mealtime. Aside from this, my daughter and I enjoyed our time there at Scramble. Thanks again and we will be back! read more

This is a great establishment for kids and parents who want to be interactive! There's a separate area for toddlers and babies and I really appreciate that parents can go everywhere their children go, down the slides through the obstacles and all the employees are so enthusiastic and you can tell they enjoy their job. There was definitely a lot of thought was put into each themed area in both the larger play area and the one catered to younger children and for the most part everything is clean. My only complaint is the wet floors, if you're going to insist that everyone wear socks make sure the floors are dry. I had to buy my son a new pair because there was a large puddle of water near the fountain and the last visit near the coats and shoe cubbies for the whole area was wet, granted it just had snowed but all the more reason to keep a dry floor, I looked like I was playing hopscotch trying to make my way to the main area. We are soooo thrilled to finally have an indoor playground like this in Alexandria. We have been travelling all the way to Dulles for a place like this on a cold or wet weekend. It is very clean, very large (which I took as a plus, because even though it was very busy the size accommodated a large crowd. It is a bit pricey, $20 per kid on the weekends, but you can play all day (we came in the morning, went home for lunch and naps and came back). They have a snack counter that is not overpriced. My husband and I took our (1-year-old) daughter to Scramble on a Sunday afternoon after being turned away from Lee District pool (they were having some sort of swim meet that day). I'm so glad we decided to check it out! Our daughter had such a blast and enjoyed playing with all the other kids. I didn't really wander beyond the infant/toddler section, but it definitely looked like they catered to a wide range of children as you move through the warehouse. They seem a little understaffed, as indicated by us having to wait a solid 10 minutes at the counter before someone gave us our wristbands (fortunately they have electronic kiosks to enter your info and sign any waivers). Only one parent is permitted per child, but the man at the counter (I presume the owner/manager) was kind enough not to charge us the additional $5 for us both to enter the play area with our daughter. Parents and children are required to take their shoes off beyond the check-in counter (must be wearing socks), but they have food court-style tables that you can probably get away with keeping your shoes on at (at least I did). The pizza reminded me of the original Chuck E. Cheese pizza, so that certainly made for a nostalgic experience. Overall, this was a really great experience and we look forward to visiting again sometime! read more

We went for the first time today and omg, we will never go back. First the process to get in is so unorganized. They have you stand in line and then you go to the computer to sign a waver and then get back in the line to pay. Smh. But the major issues I have is that it is not clean. There's hair all over the floor and it smells like poop. It's disgusting. My kid had long hair all over his socks. So gross. And then people were going in the bathroom with their socks on and coming back out to play in those same socks. They make you leave your shoes at the front so you have no choice. This is an OCD hell. read more

This place is AMAZING for kids! There's no ipads or video games that make them sit still which is a huge plus. The play areas and toys are super clean, we saw employees wiping them down when we were there too. They have a small café that sells drinks, desserts, and some snacks. Which is a huge plus. I didn't like how the tables were in the play area. My child kept going over there trying to pick up little crumbs. I'd like it better if they were separated. My toddler loved it here! Today was our second time coming and it wore him out just as expected before nap time. The only problem I had was the employee let another employee in through a door other than the front and I found it a hazard with no alarm to be used as kids could easily slip out. Either the added staff I did find the facility to be safe overall. I recommend getting there a little earlier before the surrounding preschools get out if you have little ones. I love how their play areas have big soft toys for the children of all ages to play with. All day admission pass so we'll probably be back again later today. read more

I have nothing bu praises for the staff at this location. Ashley and Victoria made my initial visit to inquire about having my son's birthday party they're fabulous. These young ladies are super professional and friendly. I've also had the pleasure of dealing with Jasline and Sheka during my many phone calls to the facility . I like to take note of names when I provided with great customer service especially an establishment that caters to children. It takes a special type of person to still be able to smile and laugh when 1000 children are running around you at a time LOL great job team Scramble. read more

Went this late afternoon/early evening and it was "just ok" for us. We had to park and walk from behind the building, so I knew it must be a busy time. Overall, this is a fun place for kids to burn some energy and has a separate baby/toddler area which I think is a huge plus. Here's what I didn't like: I didn't find a mention on the website that adults are only allowed to wear socks. That's fine, but I had to purchase socks upon arrival and was instructed to put my coat and boots in an unsupervised area near the door. Coats were hung on top of other coats and the coat/shoe area had trash on the floor and wasn't a place I wanted to leave my things. Extra fees- an additional parent is $5. I was aware prior to arriving of that fee but already found the place to be overpriced, especially since you can't bring in your own food/drink. The smell. The entire place smelled pretty bad and I tried to sit in several different areas but was unable to escape it. The older kid's play area really needs more air movement but even in the outer areas with tables and chairs, the smell was hard to deal with. Bathrooms are small, so there was a (short) wait and additionally there was urine on the floor (we were all in our socks so this isn't ideal) of both the women's and men's bathrooms. I was fingerprinted (for "security" measures) but did not receive a bracelet and no one checked as we left. Here's what I did like: Kids had fun!
