Scramblers is located in a small and busy strip mall at the intersection of Hamner Avenue and Sixth Street in Norco. As you approach this diamond in beautiful Norco, you will probably notice a line going out of the front door and for good reason. Do not hesitate or be intimated. The line goes quickly, and they actually have a fairly efficient method of seating guests. So stand in line, go over the menu again and again, place your order, and you will have a seat in a few moments. The gourmet Scramblers menu is easy to navigate, but it is difficult to choose. So many things sounded great, so we ordered more than we should have. Let's get to it. We ordered the Kalua Pork (yes pork) Benedict, the Loco Moco (Hawaiian favorite), Portuguese Sausage, and the Pina Colada Pancakes. It's been awhile since we have been back to Hawaii, so these entrees were about to fill a significant void. The Kalua Pork Benedict was excellent. The pork was not greasy, the eggs were prepared perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. The side of potatoes were also cooked perfectly. The Loco Moco was excellent. I have had many versions of Loco Moco, and this version topped them all. I had my egg well done on top of a hamburger patty. The Loco Moco sauce was savory and complimented my well done egg. In regards to the Portuguese Sausage, it was the best I have ever had. It was very lean and fried to perfection. Now to the Pina Colada pancakes. They were fluffy with chunks of pineapple. Make sure you generously apply their coconut syrup to the pancakes; the syrup is amazing. At least it is different than 99% of the other breakfast places in the area. So, the Loco Moco has three meat options here, Portuguese sausage, hamburger meat or, of course, Spam. Over rice, and smothered in a brown gravy, and topped with eggs. We have tried all three. With my seriously discriminating palate, I have chosen............you guessed it ..............Spam. [Rats! Now no one will read my reviews anymore!] I think the gravy was good, but I am not well versed in authentic Island cuisine. It reminded me of a subtle curry flavor, which I happen to love. Plenty of rice, 2 eggs, and 4 sliced pink rectangular meat slabs that have been seared to a soft, salty goodness. Couldn't eat it often, but I would return for this. The other item we tried was a waffle. The waffle was not even crisp and the batter was really boring, bland. Not that it has to be crisp, but it has to have some flavor to it. Unfortunately, that was a big fail for me. Never again. (Tip: If you are looking for a superior yet soft waffle, let me point you in the direction of Cowboy Surfer Grill, a few miles down the road in Corona. You'll understand after your first bite.) I still cannot believe that I waited an hour to eat here, but on a weekend I suppose a place this good is going to be very busy. Based on Yelp reviews I bookmarked a month prior, and you all can relate I am sure, the "if or when" nature of bookmarking restaurants. Initially I was worried that I wouldn't find a seat, flying solo and all, but a lady came out and went down the line and assigned me a table number. This worked out great once I made it to the singular register. I don't know if they can fit a second one in there but it could help. I ordered a side of delicious bacon to augment the house specialty: Kaluha pork benedict with house potatoes. My pics show the perfectly poached eggs and beautifully rendered sauce. The food here is good, the line is always long unless you get here super early and the prices have gone up. Overall, it's a good little breakfast spot in a small restaurant that could use a new menu as the prices have changed and the menu has papers with tape on top of the old prices. The captain crunch peanut butter French toast with bananas is sooo delicious and the Kahlua pork scrambler is never a let down, as is the salsa that comes with it. I almost hate to write a review for this place because I'm afraid that a good thing will be harder to get to. This is an amazing little café that has a terrific island flair to it. I have been in twice and unfortunately I'm addicted to the same thing. Moco Loco it is a dish to die for it is truly island comfort food. I get mine with fried rice, a sirloin burger patty, brown gravy, and two eggs any style I always get mine sunny side up. It is terrific. The fried riceis excellent. The sirloin Patty taste amazing. I have had Moco Loco numerous times in Maui and have found none better. The entire service team is extremely friendly, polite, and everything is a great value for the money. Along with a nice Island food on their menu they also have all the American favorites. I can't recommend this place enough. The parking is a little tough yet is well worth it. There is limited seating inside and a nice little patio outside. You will truly enjoy your visit to scramblers. read more

This is a small sized cafe with counter ordering and self served drinks. While we arrived just before the rush, the wait was still pretty long. I would recommend they get those IPads where they can walk up to people and take the orders from those who are waiting in line. I think that would help move things along because the wait we underwent wasn't nearly as long as the people behind us. Luckily one of the ladies behind the counter not taking orders because they don't have enough computers, gave us a number and put it at the table we wanted, otherwise we would've lost those seats. Complaints over because once the food comes it feels like you've entered heaven. The Oreo Cookie Pancakes are literally the BEST I've ever had!!! They give you 3 large sized pancakes so next time I'm going to ask for just one. They forgot my side order of bacon and when it came out, they weren't exactly whole pieces of bacon, I don't know how else to describe it but the bacon had holes. They were tasty otherwise. We heard great things about this place and decided to try them out for breakfast. Called in our order and the girl who answered was friendly and the food took about 25 minutes. The customer service was really good. The food was so fresh and hot that it warped the styrofoam containers. The biscuits and gravy was excellent. The gravy is out of this world and I would put that on everything. The biscuit could have been a little bigger but the gravy made up for it. The fried home potatoes was not my favorite. It lacked flavor and was too bland to me. The build your own omelet was a little disappointing since you have to pay for each item and the omelet barely had any of the add ons in it. I paid .50 each for onions and green peppers and 1.39 each for ham and bacon but the omelet had maybe a teaspoon of each item. The eggs benedict was cooked to perfection. The pouched egg was perfectly cooked. The hollandaise sauce lacked flavor but had a smooth and creamy texture. The english muffin on the bottom was too thin to me. I prefer a thicker muffin to soak up all the yolk and sauce. The Kings Hawaiian French toast was absolutely my favorite. It was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Made my first visit here for my mother's birthday. I was glad to have discovered this cute little spot for brunch as their menu had a variety of creative dishes that we were excited to try. We narrowed down our order to the Fruity Pebbles French Toast, Kalua Pork Benedict, and I believe the Portuguese Sausage Breakfast Combo. All three were delicious dishes that my mother and I shared amongst each other. The food alone deserves a 5/5, but the service and the system in which you order and seat people is a solid 3/5 which explains my 4 star rating. Thankfully I read someones review who said the Loco Moco here is the best they've ever had because oh dang this was straight FIRE! For those who have never had legit Loco Moco, its a traditional Hawaiian dish with a burger patty on top of white rice covered with a fried egg and drenched in gravy. This is the only place I know where you can substitute the white rice with more flavorful fried rice and wow the flavor explosion was just out of this world! The patty was seasoned well and not over cooked. Once I cracked the egg and let it run, I mixed it all in with the gravy and it was just delicious! Also for the price, it came with a lot of food so I was definitely full. My main concern with this place is the order in which you eat/sit etc. So you first line up and then order your food. After that, you have to wait until a table becomes free before you can be seated. I understand you do this so when a table does come by you just sit down and the food arrives, but this place is so small and lacks enough tables and chairs to seat a busy crowd of people if this place gets more popular. If a group is finished eating, but wants to catch up with friends and talk, that's a table being used while someone is waiting to sit after they ordered their food. Overall, the food is great, price is fair, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Parking can be tough, but if this place becomes big, I hope they get more tables/chairs or change the order in which people are seated. read more

The girl up front recommended the Loco Moco ($7.99) which has the Portuguese sausage, and 2 eggs over easy, served on top of fried rice, (extra $1.50 For fried rice) with brown gravy. The plate was absolutely fantastic. I also ordered the Captain Mac'Nut French Toast ($7.50) (Captain Crunch and Macadamia Nut). The girl recommended that I try it with coconut syrup. Let me tell you.....it was hands down the best French toast I've ever had anywhere. It has a crunch to it which makes it really good, also topped with strawberries. My friend ordered the Spicy Chicken and Waffles which is not on the menu but you can order it and it comes with bacon on top. I tried some of his and it was really, really good. His son ordered the Strawberry Banana French Toast and Portuguese Sausage breakfast combo. They also both agreed that the breakfast here is amazing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting the loco moco here. I haven't had it anywhere else but it's delicious. I go for the Portuguese sausage which isn't too greasy and on a mild side. The fried rice is worth the additional charge since it's not too powerful but it pairs well with the sausage, gravy and scrambled egg. I also got the macadamia nut pancake to share but with the loco moco, we were barely able to make a dent into it. Still tasted great for those few bites though. Not too dry, over cooked and just the right ratio of macadamia nut to pancake and melted butter. I also recommend the blueberry ricotta pancakes as well. The environment is very inviting as well and they have a good system in place for making sure you find a table. Staff is friendly and very attentive for refilling your coffee and you are responsible for grabbing and refilling your water cups. I've made the drive from Riverside twice now which takes around 20-25 minutes and it's well worth it each time. Can't wait to come back :) read more

So my latest review of Scramblers may seem like a spell of bipolar disorder in the end. From being able to finally sample their lunch menu I realize (unless it was just an off day) breakfast is their forte and lunch time can be a past time for the history books. I recently felt like having a lazy morning and decided to go back for an early morning spoil session. I found that in the form of their Captain Mac'Nut French Toast. On a tip from the wife who I believe saw this either on Yelp or Instagram that getting it with peanut butter was the way to go and boy was it ever! It already starts off as a pleaser with king's Hawaiian bread. It was soft and adds an irresistible foundation of sweet. The captain crunch chimes in with what I consider an "adult like meal feel" to a timeless adolescent breakfast decision. It also comes with powdered sugar and bananas which are a piece de resistance to an already superb meal. This is a highly recommended dish (partner it with some succulent Portuguese Sausage and your mind truly will be scrambled). Now onto the mood changer: lunch. I was so excited for months to give that side of the menu a shot, but sadly it came up short when the smoke cleared. I was feeling in the mood for L&L to be honest, but since they are now phasing out in the IE I decided to give Scramblers a shot since breakfast was always on point. With that said I set my sights on the chicken teriyaki, but perhaps I needed a new eye chart? I did initially feel that the portion size was a bit scarce, but I don't exactly want to be eating a whole flock so I can just safely say it's portioned as it should be. The texture of the chicken is what lost the overall joy for the meal. For some reason it felt really chewy and just really dried out which I admit was disappointing. I felt (or at least prefer) a teriyaki sauce with a bit more sweetness to it, but again that's just my preference so perhaps that's just how they prepare there sauce? All in all when a scoop of macaroni salad is saving the lunch time meal for you perhaps stick to your guns and not "do lunch". I came in for breakfast and didn't get my food till after 12.. not to mention they first bring out one part and then 20 min later brought out the rest of our order.
