Stopped by on the way home from the grocery store. There were long lines and we were in self check out. We couldn't check out with alcohol. Luckily this spot is on the way home for us. It has everything you need in a liquor store. Snacks, booze, sodas and those mini shot size bottles. The cashier was nice and friendly. We probably could have paid less at the store but it was convenient. Not the best looking store around but they will most likely have what you need. Parking lot is a hot mess, portion was taken over by outdoor dining. Spots are little tight, be careful backing out. read more

Because of it's location next to C's Deli I usually grab a soda to go from here. The lady that works/owns the place is vapid of any personality. Hand out to receive money, hand out to give change.. That's about it. It's strictly a brown bag place with brown bag clientele. - They have a lot of peculiar shaped tequila bottles. Maybe the lady that works there should become acquainted with them. Don't go here unless you want to be stared at furiously the entire time you are shopping for alcohol. The man who was working as the cashier on Friday night was hugely disrespectful and showed no empathy or kindness to my friend and me. Stopped here today 4/24/19 after work to buy some alcohol. Was looking in the fridge minding my own business trying to decide what I wanted. Bald store guy yells at me to close the fridge door because I was letting all the air out. He was so rude! I kindly walked out and told him I would never come here again. He rudely replies GOOD! Wow! The guy working inside is nice and was helpful but this is probably one of the most expensive liquor stores I've come across. I came here for last minute gift prepping and had to buy some mini bottles/shots and spent a total of $24 for 2 little patron shots and 2 Smirnoff shots. It was about $8-9 for patron then $3 for the Smirnoff. I've gotten Smirnoff shots for anything between $1-1.50 at plenty of other places and I was shocked that I was paying double. If I had no other choice and wasn't procrastinating, I definitely would have walked out and drove elsewhere. read more

Tucked away in the same strip where you'll find a very busy Filippi's, Scripps Ranch Liquor is a haven for residents of Allure. Prices for items are average for Mira Mesa. You're not going to find anything out of the ordinary here, but that's not a bad thing. It's nice to know that there's a place where you can find emergency items like beer and cigarettes within walking distance. If you're driving, you'll probably miss this spot. But if you do find it, you should check out the deli next door or the Mexican restaurant. Both spots are pretty good, although I'd lean more towards the deli. I used to live in the apartment complex adjacent to the business park that is home to Scripps Ranch Liquor. It's a small little hole in the wall, nothing fancy, but it does stock lots of cold beer, a good assortment of wine and liquor, and a small range of grocery/general merchandise items. In that respect, it is unremarkable; it succintly meets the expectation for a liquor store. To be quite honest though, where I think this place differs from other liqor stores is the customer service. The owner, Paul, is a genuinely sincere dude. I'll share a quick story with you to sort of explain. I'm in the service, and after I came back home from a 7 month deployment to Afghanistan, Paul immediately recognized me, welcomed me back, and chatted me up about the whole experience. He even remembered my wife's name and asked me how she was getting along. I tell you, I was sort of suprised that he remembered me, but I guess I shouldnt be because he engages pretty much everybody who comes into his place on a personal level. He's a warm, welcoming dude making an honest living, and his business reflects that. Scripps Ranch Liquor is good to go. read more

This is the absolue worst store I've ever been into. Granted, what exactly are you looking for from a liquor store but still this place is terrible. I tried to cash some lottery scratchers that were a gift from a friend. The guy got all offended that I wasn't going to buy more lottery tickets and told me I always do this at his store ie; come in and cash tickets I haven't bought there. Meanwhile, I've never done this before. I don't play the lottery and these tickets were a gift so clearly I would have no idea where they were purchased. Believe, me I get it. Don't come in and cash tickets that weren't bought here but what am I to do. The overall attitude is just absurd, but again it's a liquor store so we are dealing with people who we should not expect to have rational thoughts. Never again.
