I was looking for something new and unique to try. I got these 3 for $10. It was a deal if you picked up three for ten which typically one drink can cost well over $10. During my shopping experience, I encountered some of the staff. Each one was really friendly and helpful. Gave me a few recommendations which I'll have to try in the future. I've been a loyal customer of Total Wine primarily the Mission Valley location, but my recent visit to the Carmel Valley store left me extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. On my way to San Marcos, I stopped in to pick up a few cigars. While browsing the Scotch section, specifically looking at a Dalmore 15, an employee approached me and greeted me. I politely responded and made it clear more than once that I did not need assistance. I prefer to shop independently, and if I need help, I will ask. Despite this, the employee continued trying to engage, ignoring my clear and respectful responses. At that point, I was already feeling pressured and just wanted to check out and leave. While waiting in line, the same employee approached me again and redirected me to another register, saying he could help me there. I agreed, expecting a straightforward checkout. Instead, the interaction became uncomfortable and frankly bizarre. He asked if I needed a cigar bag. I responded clearly: "Yes." Rather than proceeding normally, he paused, stared at me, and acted as if he did not understand my response. There was an awkward silence where he simply looked at me in a confused and almost performative way. At that moment, I had to say: "I think my English wasn't that bad saying 'yes' after you asked if I need a bag." His response was dismissive: "Oh no, I asked if you need a cigar bag."! This interaction felt unnecessary, patronizing, and inappropriate. What should have been a simple transaction turned into an uncomfortable experience that made me question whether I was being subtly mocked or tested over something as basic as saying "yes." This happened around 3:33 PM on a Saturday. what should have been a quick stop after a long week turned into a frustrating and unwelcome experience. For clarity, the employee's name was John. I expect better from a company like Total Wine. Customers should not feel pressured while browsing, nor should they be made uncomfortable during a basic checkout interaction. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the store and needs to be addressed seriously. I hope corporate reviews this and takes appropriate action to ensure customers are treated with respect and professionalism. read more

It's baffling that they don't cross-check the shelf tag with the scanned price, even after the mistake has been pointed out so many times. So take a photo of every price tag--or be prepared to "tip" them inadvertently on your way out. Also, their ID policy is asinine. If you're with your spouse and they forget their ID, even if you have yours, no alcohol purchasing for you. But if you're with a child? Super excited because I have seen ads for it but never wanted to pay the shipping and handling but now it is available right up the street. The store is huge, great lay out and very well lit. This a fairly new place here in Carmel Mountain area and is already populated. They have one of the best varieties in wine, spirits, cigars, mixers and more. For me, specially the collection Bourbon this place have is a jewel. Just love this place! Definitely join their app if you go there often. I get $5 off and a free wine gift bag each month with their app coupon and they have other decent coupons on their app. They have a large selection of wine, beer and hard liquor to choose from. Plus the staff is always very friendly and will help you navigate the app if needed. I tend to normally go to Costco for wine and beer for parties but Total Wine is often closer in location and sometimes the prices are actually cheaper than Costco and Bevmo. You won't find as many name brands but usually better deals. They do wine tastings for only 0.01+ donation but u have to go at the times the tasting center is open. If you are getting multiple winery direct (non name brand wines usually) def sign up for their app bc it's usually a deal like 15% off of 3 or more bottles. read more

If you wanted wine this is THE place to go. You will find entire sections and aisles of wine by varietals from $5 to $200. The selection choices are like no other place. We decided to stop in since we received a residential mailer along with a promo coupon of $10 of $50. This place is located right next to Nordys Rack in CMR. There are tons of signage and you're able to see the building from the main road. Tons of parking and there are spaces dedicated for pick up. I didn't know what to expect as a frequent Bevmo fan, but as soon as you walk in you're hit with a massive selection of so many alcohol selections. The amount of alcohol and varieties are massive! There's a wine tasting area (which wasn't open at the time of our visit) available and even expensive bottles that aren't locked up. My husband was ecstatic of their cab selection and I was enamored with all the bubbles. I got a couple bubbly bottles and my husband got a couple of nice cabs. You can seriously spend all day in this store with the amount of items they have. The staff was really friendly and asked if we found everything ok. Their coupons are for some stuff that you will not find anywhere. I love $10 off of $50 from BevMo which is very valuable than buying other unknown stuff. Their rewards system is very bad, once you place an order and cancel it the rewards you have disappear, so the rewards is just a myth. Once you place and order and want to cancel it, it will be impossible to cancel it and will take more 2 to 3 weeks to get it cancelled. I could spend hours in here browsing and doing some wine tasting. I love coming here when it's hot outside because they have a walk-in beer cooler. This is usually my first stop because obviously it feels so good. Anyway they have a great craft beer selection with singles and they have a four and six pack section. Watch out Bevmo! Total Wine opened recently in Carmel mountain and has really brought shopping for provisions to a whole new level. Although I was a bit overwhelmed when I first walked in, their enormous selection is very easy to navigate. In the 15-20 minutes I was in here I was offered assistance by five different associates, so if you're having a hard time finding what you're looking for, chances are you won't even need to ask them before they ask you. On top of a phenomenal selection of alcohol, they also have a relatively well-stocked humidor. The cost of alcohol seemed competitive and the cost for cigars seems about average to what you'd find in a local brick and mortar cigar shop. I noticed that they do tasting on the weekend and I'd really like to come up and check that out sometime.
