The last time I was here was about 7 years ago. It used to be fairly good, never great. I should have looked at the yelp reviews before we sat down. I'll get right to it, the food stunk ! I mean stunk !! The food actually bad me ill afterward !! I mean puking ill !! We usually just start off with appetizers and if they do a good job we'll order lunch or dinner. We did the same getting the bulk 'you get one of everything' appetizer plate. Service also stunk. Some older lady that showed no interest in making your dining experience a good one. This place stays in business because of it's location and view of the water. No other reason ! Go down to Bubba Gump's yes it's a chain but you'll have a good time, get good service (as we did) and get good prepared food that won't make you sick. read more

Food was ok, standard fried fare. Calamari was a bit underdone. I come from a city whose price point for food is high so I didn't see a problem with the pricing, everything was quick and as expected. Service was simple but not hospitable. I wouldn't come back but can see why tourists like I would choose to dine here. 3 stars is the best explanation for this place. Stay away from this place! It was our first time at the pass and the place looked good so we came in. 1- Menu is very limited 2- Over price 3- Nachos are way better at the movie theater. Presentation horrible, there were cold, grated cheese not even melted, no tomatoes, just a bunch of sour cream. 4- Coconut shrimp was ok. But def nothing like the pic and only 5 pieces. 5- Salad horrible presentation, a can of mandarin with lettuce and shredded Parmesan cheese. 6- The frozen margarita the worst I've had in my life. Bill was $70 including tip. I honestly eat better at Lime and their frozen margaritas and sangrias are way better. I can't even remember the last time I had food this bad. Staff is nice though.. feel bad for them because I can sure they get bad tips for the crappy food and drinks. read more

Not sure if the menu is small because of the recent COVID-19 virus, but there was very little to choose from on the menu. I ordered spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer (which was perfect for 2) and fish and chips as an entree which was just okay. The location here is amazing, you can sit and look out over John's Pass, people watch and see the water. Because of the location and the fact that this is in the center of a tourist mecca they are always very busy. Seating is fairly quick and the table staff all try very hard to be as friendly as possible. We stopped in and ordered drinks which were very tasty but way overpriced for what we received but we did mention this is a tourist trap already so you are going to pay a premium price on everything and the real estate has to be the majority of the overhead here. Service is very slow, not sure if it was our server or if they were not staffed appropriately but either way at times we wondered if we had a server. We made the mistake of ordering food here, Both of our orders were extremely dry and overcooked. I will give them 2 stars due to the servers being so friendly and outgoing but not a place we will return to. read more

This was a bad decision for choosing this restaurant. We order coconut shrimp and grouper sandwich. Shrimps were over cooked, and grouper was with no taste whatsoever. We had to return it. I've eaten at Sculley's a few times (because my relative drags me to the place every time I visit her). The Stuffed Flounder had too much lobster-creme sauce. Again, I believe if food is prepared well, you do not need to smother it with sauces or gravies. The Lump Crab Cake was very "bready" with too much filler and not enough crab. The Good: Great location to watch the dolphins seated in a "funky, pirate atmosphere". The place sits on the water. The Bad: The fresh fish is bland and similar to what you find at Captain D's Seafood (fast food). The Ugly: Overweight tourists, in poorly fitted beach attire, clomping down the boardwalk. I went here while visiting John' Pass & was not very impressed. While the restaurant has gorgeous views of the water, the same cannot be said about the views (or taste) of the food. The ordered the Dos Chicken Tacos while my friend ordered the Grouper Po Boy. While both were good sized portions, it was definitely not worth the price! The tacos did not have much flavor or seasoning & were served with canned store-bought salsa and a packet of Daisy sour cream. They were not fresh or appetizing. I tried some of the grouper from my friend's dish and it did not seem very fresh either. He was also served with packets of mayonnaise. Are we in a high school cafeteria? Service was quick and efficient and the drinks looked good but barely had any alcohol & were again very pricey. Called in advance. As a former regular--asked if there was fresh grouper on the menu. Her response: "absolutely". Arrived at Sculley's at 6:15pm and was informed they were out of 'fish & chips" and "grouper"--but they had red snapper. Ordered the blackened red snapper. The snapper tasted 'fishy' and was incredibly dry! That will be my last visit to Sculley's. read more

I really wanted to like this place. This visit was the first time I have been to John's Pass in years. It's really a great spot. We sat at a table with a nice view of the water hand boats. It was fun watching boats come and go, and our server was friendly. Those are pretty much the only good things I have to say, unfortunately. The server was friendly, but the service was slow. I could forgive that if the time was spent cooking a delicious meal, but I ended up with very sub par shrimp tacos. Nothing is worse than sketchy shrimp. My husband was not a fan of his food either. We didn't even bring home our leftovers. I won't be back to Sculley's. read more

However, we encountered the worst rudest woman (shaved back haircut) she made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome that we decided to leave. Biggest disappointment since the new Star Wars movie, "The Last Jedi." This is your typical beach restaurant where you wonder how they're allowed to own such real estate while serving absolute garbage for food. I'd give less than 1 star, but 1) The app won't let me 2) Their service was friendly all around. While my siren & I appreciated the kind serving staff all around, the food cannot ever bring us back. We started out with beer, & mozzarella sticks. My IPA wasn't bad, but my girl's Boston lager was skunked. The mozz sticks were decent with subpar marinara sauce. Ok so here's the Star Wars plot. The bbq pulled pork sammich was placed in front of me. In my basket was a small sauce container of sweet baby rays. That, alone, should speak volumes. The fries were decent, but too few. The pork was cooked okay, but what's the point when there's no flavor or bbq to go with it (no I'm not counting a little tykes container of grocery sauce)? I also had a side of ranch. While the portion of that was acceptable, it was flavorless. My gf had fish & chips. She said it was chewy, the batter was overly greasy, & that you could get better at McDonald's. What could possibly make this worse? The price tag. Could've bought a yacht for what we paid for this uninspired seagull scrap. Rise above the stereotype & own this real estate. Went to this restaurant with a group a friends. Food came to the table minus one of the entrees. We were told that they were out of one of the entrees and it would be a while before they could get a new order out. Our group would have been finished and just sitting waiting for another 30-45 minutes waiting, so we opted not to reorder. Worst part is that the Chef didn't want to talk to us and told our friend, "Do you want food or not, lady? We're busy." Disappointment from the start. We waited at an empty hostess stand for about 5 minutes before we were finally acknowledged. The hostess was unenthusiastic as she walked us to our dirty table and hastily wiped it with a wet rag. The table was still wet and sticky so we ended up having to wipe it ourselves with our shirts. The sever decided to share with us how much he disliked his job and how he was already looking for another one. The Piña colada was extremely weak, when asked how the drink was made the server offered that he received many complaints about the frozen drinks not tasting alcoholic. I was assured that my meal would be prepared safely for my sea food allergy after the server talked to the main chef. When I received my food the tacos were served with homemade chips and when we asked the server how they were prepared I was shocked when I was informed the chips were prepared in the same fryer as the seafood. I don't understand why this place is so popular. It's always busy (with tourists like me). The mixed cocktail drinks are insanely expensive. Nine dollars! I ordere the grouper and I doubt that it was I got, but I couldn't tell because it was dry and over cooked. They were out of coleslaw and when we asked what we could substitute and were told there were no substitutes. After pushing a bit we got the veg of the day, barely cooked and cold broccoli. We ordered a smoked fish dip for an appetizer and it was not smoky and might as well have been tuna salad for all we could tell. Our server forgot several things we asked for, and things that were important, like utensils for the crab legs. We had a very underwhelming experience and will not return here. read more

Came to Scully's on the first night down in Florida. It's a half indoor/outdoor restaurant right smack in the middle of John's Pass on the west coast. It's located right off the gulf and overlooks the water. Honestly, I prefer indoors especially during the humid weather but that night in particular was great for eating outside. As you can probably guess by the name as well as the location... this is a seafood establishment. The menu consists of items such as: shrimp, fish fillet (salmon, tilapia, mahi mahi), fish and chips, scallops and more. They also have non-seafood dishes like burgers and such. So if you're not really into seafood, you'll have options. We sat outside in a wooden deck/patio which was nice. There are these big bells that if you see a dolphin swimming in the water you have to ring it! I thought that was a cute touch. And luckily enough, we saw a few! For dinner I got the shrimp scampi (lightly sauced) and it was pretty good. I'm not sure if they cook things different down there but the sauce was heavy for my liking. The shrimp and pasta was cooked well. It was just that scampi sauce. I'll try this place again and update when I got back to good ol' FL. read more

This was possibly the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. The Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce should fine this restaurant for representing the beach so poorly. This restaurant is a typical example of a tourist trap. The food is overpriced, and the food quality is very low. We ordered a calamari which was served with a sauce that was obviously A can of diced tomatoes in tomato sauce. I ordered grilled salmon, which came with broccoli and french fries. The french fries had been fried in the same grease as the fish, and had obviously been left to soak in the grease after it was done. The broccoli, while fresh, was nothing but steamed broccoli, without even butter or seasoning. The salmon was bland possibly frozen. My partner ordered chicken portobello. The sauce tasted like a watered down lemon sauce and the portion was so small that it was shameful. The service was adequate although we did wait outside for a hostess for almost 5 minutes. Eventually we had to walk inside and request to be seated. Our waitress was adequate, although she clearly had other responsibilities which prevented her from giving us her best attention. As a resident of Madeira Beach I am ashamed of this restaurant. I recommend that you go someplace else rather than this wretched restaurant. Don't be fooled by the view or the ambience, it is most miss-leading. If your hungry go to Delosas Pizza, at least you know what you are getting there, and you will get what you pay for. read more

Amazing seafood!!! The scallops were the best! We also ordered the build your own shrimp pasta with Alfredo sauce. I didn't care for the stuffed shrimp with crabmeat. The crab meat was smooshed and probably squeezed out of a tube into a blob. I did not like the texture, but the broccoli & mashed potatoes were perfect! My daughters had a house salad and Rubin sandwich. The bread was soggy on the sandwich, so she ate the meat out the middle. Over all good place, great location on the water! read more

We have been to sculley's many times but this was the worst food experience ever. The waiter was exceptional but the food was bad. My daughter ordered the ahi tuna poke which was inedible. My husband ordered the tropical chicken which came out burnt and was very small, half of a half of a breast. If not for the waiter, the whole experience would have been a disaster. The waiter Sean did the best he could with a bad situation. Usually, when the food is bad, a manager comes by to talk to you, no such thing here. We don't intend to go back. read more

Terrible! We had some questions for the hostess on whether the bar in the basement was connected to them she didn't know the answer! Went to the basement bar and order a drinks, all but one did not come. We didn't see our waitress after we paid our bill so another waiter helped us. When we were called upstairs for our seats we ordered 3 beers and 4 waters. 3 beers and one water came. It took 3 times asking for the waters. When they finally came it was at the end of our meal and we found a bug in our last piece of fried fish! Management was unapologetic but said they would cover our meal. They took our plates and we did not see anyone for the rest of the time. I forgot to add the dirty appetizer dishes that were put on the table for us to use and our cold meals!! read more

My kids ordered rib eye has no flavors.. they asked for horseradish they said they do not have it.. the bleu cheese horseradish that usually comes with it they no longer have it.
