They do not stand behind their work…read more Spent over $23,000 on landscaping and construction services from this company less than 2 years ago, and have had terrible service from the moment final payment was made. When Brandon (my contact) told me which plants they intended to install, I told him some wouldn't survive the hot, dry, full-sun location. He insisted they would work, and told me they all had a one-year guarantee. Within three months, when they started to die, I sent him photos and asked that they be replaced with others. Despite promises they would be changed (at least six times over the next few months), they were never replaced. Likewise, the artificial turf that was installed was not installed with enough/the right adhesive and the turf has become a serious tripping hazard. Again, calls to Brandon were met with promises that someone would come out to fix it, and no one ever did. Repeated messages were not returned. Last month an obviously broken irrigation pipe under the tile/artificial turf they installed caused flooding in my yard. When I called the company to ask for someone to come out to evaluate what could be done, Jordan told me Brandon no longer worked for the company. (I guess that explains why my messages weren't returned.) Jordan told me he was Brandon's replacement, and that he would be out in two days to take a look. 10 days later, he came out and confirmed it was a broken pipe, but said my warranty had expired and there would be a charge to repair the pipe. He told me it would require the large tiles and turf to be demolished to find the problem, but he'd send me an estimate. It's been over a month and again, I've been ghosted. I consulted another irrigation specialist who told me that if a pipe underground ha broken, it was likely cracked when it was installed. I hope this serves as a warning for anyone considering paying this company to do landscaping and installation.

What made this project especially important to us was that we managed the entire job remotely from our home in Northern California. Danny made that process remarkably easy. He communicated consistently, answered every question thoroughly, sent frequent photos and videos, and kept us informed throughout the preparation and installation. We never felt out of the loop. The quality of the work was outstanding. Their team removed the existing decomposed granite, properly prepared and graded the area, installed and compacted a base, added the weed barrier, carefully laid and trimmed the turf around curved borders and existing stepping stones, secured the edges and seams, applied the upgraded zeolite infill, and power-broomed the finished surface. They clearly cared about the details--not just whether it looks good on installation day. Danny also stood out during the bidding process. We received several quotes, and he was transparent about the exact turf product, specifications, backing, base preparation, and infill options. He did not simply recommend the most expensive upgrade. Instead, he explained what he believed was the best balance of durability, appearance, and long-term value for a family rental property. That honesty gave us a great deal of confidence. The finished yard looks great. The turf has a lush, natural appearance, the curved edges and transitions were handled beautifully, and the existing pavers, mature landscaping, and black lava-rock planter areas were preserved and integrated very well. We previously had a horrible experience with a landscaper and while we tried to fix his mistakes as best as we could, we needed a professional to come out. So while I was aware that the projects we wanted were not huge (replacing the weeds between our pavers with gravel/ taming or removing some vines gone amok/ generally getting things under control), they seemed to be inline with what people left in the reviews and I was hoping that I would like the workers and maybe be able to schedule some seasonal maintenance in addition to getting some work done. Well, let me say, my projects must not have been good enough. The owner was decidedly not interested in my money or my projects and recommended someone else in Agora Hills instead of taking the jobs himself. My mother warned me not to plant that morning glory vine in the corner of my backyard but I did it…read moreanyway. Within the span of about a year, it was growing over my citrus trees, down the fence and creeping into my neighbor's backyard despite my best efforts to keep it confined. The morning glory travels about as fast as a German assault on Paris, France (we're talkin' blitzkrieg!). I knew it was time to do something when its tentacle-like creepers were inches away from my sliding back door. I found Kenco Landscaping on Yelp under landscaping and ground clearing (emphasis on the ground clearing). I called and within the span of a few days, I had an estimate and my flower beds eradicated of this monstrous vine. Tom, the owner of Kenco, brought two helpers and had everything manicured within 5 hours. He also trimmed my citrus trees and cleaned everything up nice and clean. This was not a glamorous job for a landscaper but an important one to me. Tom treated my project with the same status I gave it. Tom is easy to talk to and is one of those people who enjoy what he does! The finished product shows. I can once again barbeque, enjoy my backyard! Remember to listen to your mom about invasive vines or keep Tom's phone number handy if you ignore her sound advice!
