Waterfalls Etcetera & Design Concepts Landscape We interviewed many contractors over a long period of time and were not satisfied with the results. We were looking for someone to design a larger, easily maintained Koi pond with a waterfall and a reliable pump, as our existing pond was too small. We also needed extensive backyard re-landscaping, new drainage, and updates to our drip irrigation system. After searching Angie's List, we were fortunate to find Kurt and Kelly--two contractors with complementary specialties. Kurt from "Waterfalls Etcetera" specializes in designing ponds, water features, and selecting the appropriate equipment for Koi ponds. He was easy to work with, offered thoughtful ideas, and recommended a pond design that aligned perfectly with our vision. We trusted his expertise and followed his recommendations. Kurt kept us informed throughout the project and was frequently on site to ensure everything was done correctly. He also provided a temporary tank for our Koi and made sure they were well cared for during construction. Kelly from "Design Concepts Landscape" specializes in landscape design and construction, including decks, drainage trenches, pavers, irrigation, handrails, and overall yard design. His crew--Miguel, Santiago, and Christian--did the majority of the work, and they were outstanding. They worked incredibly hard and paid close attention to detail in every aspect of the job. I was especially impressed with how precisely they cut and fitted the pavers in challenging areas. Santiago had a great eye in placing the boulders in place when constructing the pond. I watched as Miguel, Santiago, and Christian placed the flagstone when building our stone patio. They treated our yard as if it were their own. Kelly was an exceptional supervisor and had a strong rapport with his crew. He was on site regularly to oversee the progress of the work. He communicated clearly and ensured every task was completed exactly as we wanted--often exceeding our expectations. I would also like to acknowledge the crew that dug the drainage trenches and installed the new drip system; they did excellent work. In addition, the team that built the deck were fantastic. Jorge, the crew leader, made sure every piece of decking was carefully cut and securely installed. The deck looks beautiful. All in all, thanks to Kurt and Kelly, our backyard, side yards, and even the front courtyard by our front door turned out absolutely beautiful. We couldn't be happier with the results. read more

I can't possibly express how happy we are with our pool! The idea of doing a smaller pool concerned me at first, but then Kurt helped us configure a way to make it look much bigger and far more grand than we could've ever dreamed of! i'm not even sure the pictures will do it justice, I can tell you that everything he put into the pool was first rate quality, with nothing left out. I had my artificial turf installed by this company and the owner claimed that I have 15 years warranty. I had a problem after 3 months and called, texted and emailed Kurt back several times with no show. They gave me many appointments with no show . Kurt did an expensive project for my mother and brother and they have had a problem ever since the work was completed. Their plants are dying due to inadequate use of sprinkler, and the lighting has fallen apart due to the cheap poor selection of lighting fixtures that Kurt put in. wow what a disaster to go with this company. We wanted a simple concrete pond and small waterfall. Poor workmanship - concrete everywhere, the skimmer balanced on blocks in the pond, waterfall leaks out of the top, flooding the hill, no filter in the pump and pipes fly apart when you adjust the flow. Kurt tried to walk out with my plants when we had discussed leaving them for me to replant. He had told his workers to take them to his house. I made the men take them off their truck and put them back. He shifted plans that we had discussed constantly. I am so disappointed that there are people out there like this. read more

Within a couple weeks finish job began & continues to discolor (cost us over $500 in water overage b/c we had to drain pool to redo and second time sealer still looks terrible....he was not around to supervise either initial job or subsequent job...)
