It's time to call out businesses for using AI slop that makes the customer's life more difficult. I've had so many bad experiences with automated AI help bots, or talking robots on phone calls and there has never been one single instance where it has made things easier for me as a customer. It's time we shame companies for doing it, and get them to bring back good old customer service again. I called and a robot answered the phone and asked me what my question was. I was immediately thrown off and against my better judgement, I asked my question. It told me that it didn't know the answer to my question and that someone would get back to me hopefully within the next 24 hours. I told it no thanks, I don't want the call back. Seriously? Someone can't even call your shop and get a person who can answer a question about whether you sell a specific type of item? I am choosing to go elsewhere, because of the inconvenience caused to me by the use of AI. read more

I was looking to get a 75 inch TV mounted on my wall and have the wires hidden in my living room and spent a lot of time researching different companies and prices. After all my research, I chose Robert from SCV Audio Video and was not disappointed. Robert from SCV Audio Video is definitely the epitome of a true professional who believes in customer service and quality work. The night before, my wife and I spent hours and hours trying to mount the TV ourselves. After a lot of hard work, sweat and tears we realized the mounted TV was crooked, not center and we were unable to get the wires hidden behind the walls as easily as I thought we would. I texted Robert from SCV/Audio and he provided me with an estimate immediately which was lower than other estimates I had received from other companies in town. Robert came over with his team and it took them minutes to fix what took my wife and I hours to put up. They were efficient, professional, knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves. Based upon the positive reviews, I contacted Robert to discuss a possible install of a TV, sound bar and rear speakers. I had a couple of phone conversations with him and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. We settled on an install date over a week away. Robert confirmed in writing via text that we would start at 1:00 p.m. on the install date. I was unsure whether we needed to clear the room and disconnect our existing TV so I asked Robert if I could text him some questions and he said "sure." I asked him if we needed to disconnect and move the existing TV or whether his team would do that. Robert's response was that he was going to pass on the job because he "wasn't the best for the job." He also said that "[t[he timing in the middle of the day messes with our scheduling." This obviously was untrue as he had confirmed the timing of the install in the same text string! If Robert is the best installer in the world, I didn't get a chance to witness it because he refused to proceed with the job, clearly because he did not want to take the time to address my questions. Not a good thing in the service business. So, I guess this company prefers customers who do not ask questions. read more

I was having some work done last year on my backyard patio and needed to have my outdoor patio system re-wired and working correctly. While I understand that there is a 19-review here with full stars, I write this with trying to be as fair as possible, and this is based on a major personality conflict: - We recently moved to SCV from outside state, I came across Rob in Yelp - Was super impressed with the reviews and pictures, he is close - Got excited, called him, called him, called him again and very poor response time - OK, he is very busy... No issues as long as he does the job - Finally called me, asked that I text him picture... I did, still took forever to get back - From when I contacted him first till he came out to survey was about 2.5 weeks I am over the above, here is where the problem starts. I must say, he seemed confident and knows his business and what to do. Really well. Which i appreciated. However, this confidence quickly turned into personality arrogance. I had my own system, receivers, speakers, etc... He insisted on selling me ceiling speakers instead of just hanging my bookshelf speakers. I gave in and told him to send me two quotes. Well, he send me one quote and that took again another week and half instead of the few days he promised. I asked to get me a quote to use my own polk audio speakers. He did, but now the job all of a sudden is hourly and not a lump-sum job. Leaving me very much exposed to have to pay a large amount to get this job done. When I reached out to try to understand the business value, his attitude did stink. Was arrogant, short and despite of my diplomatic approach he told me he didn't want to do the job. Disappointing, because all along he really never wanted to do the work if I didn't do it his way and buy his speakers. He wasted a month of my time doing this instead of just being honest with me and telling he would rather no do my speaker. Made it all sound complicated and didn't really hear what i wanted - which was to put in our own speakers. We did get the work done, in a very professional, more cost effective and super pleasant experience. I am not sure how he's got full starts here with that type of attitude but this was my experience. If you know nothing about A/V, don't have equipment and looking for an expert that is cocky ... Rob might be your guy. Glad we didn't do this with him, we would have had personality conflict to the end and I rather do work with someone that would enjoy working for us rather than give attitude in the process read more

I searched the internet and Yelp and came across Robert's company. Based only on his Yelp reviews I called him for an estimate. He came over and looked at my space right away. We discussed our options and settled on a system with a Sharp TV, Yamaha receiver, Polk Audio speakers, RTI remote, among other components. He pre-wired my house during renovations and then came back to install all the components later. The surround sound is amazing. He even set up my master bedroom system for me. I am very happy with the entire set up. Whenever I have had a question for Robert regarding the system he has been very prompt with addressing my needs. He will even come out to the house and look at the system himself to ensure it is working properly. Incredibly impressed!! We've had a gigantic flat screen mounted on our walls for a couple years now and I had someone come out last year to "hide" the wires. They did an ok job, but the speaker wires were still visible and just stapled to the wall. After a year of staring at it, I was done!!
