I'm a new customer today. My diesel RAM has two batteries that died yesterday and I'm too busy to change them myself. I called the Jeep guy a few doors down who services my wife's vehicle, but he turned me away and told me that SCV Auto was more suited to work on my truck. I called yesterday and asked if they could see me today on short notice. I spoke to Mona (one of the owners) and she agreed but told me I couldn't wait there because she wasn't sure how long it would take and whether she could find the batteries here in SCV or have to get them from the valley. No problemo. I dropped off the truck right when they opened at 8am, and then went home to get some work done. And then son-of-a-gun if she didn't call me before ten to tell me that the work was already done (about 90 min from start to finish). This was a pleasant surprise. I can't stand our local Dodge dealer (poor service, history of dishonesty with me, horrendous attitude, and nutty prices) so I've been taking my RAM to a diesel shop out in Azusa for years. I'm thrilled to find a shop with a good diesel tech. Hopefully I don't need any more work any time soon, but I know where I'll go next time. And not that I'm looking for warm fuzzies from my auto shop, but Mona was wonderful and Jesse (I think that was his name) stopped and talked with me for a little while and talked me into giving him more of my business. So yes, they actually were warm and fuzzy, so much so that when I came to pick up my truck I brought Mona a flower arrangement from my wife to say "thanks". I'm pretty sure that's a first for me. This was 2 years ago. I give them 1 star. My ford edge would almost overheat when I was in traffic or stopped at signal. I use to have my service work done here at SCV auto by the previous owners so thought I would try the new owners. I spoke with Jesse and explained my situation. I also asked him to check my brakes. He told me my brakes were good but the secondary coolant fan wasn't coming on and that the module was bad. Parts, 1 fan module $476.00 and labor $360.00 which included checking the brakes. $881.49 total cost. I assumed that the fan system was replaced account of the cost. Now 2 years later same problem. I took my car to a local repair shop and they told me the same problem again. This shop did replace the entire fan system, cooling fan unit $262.80 labor $130.00. Total $392.80 I called SCV auto and left a message for Jesse. No response. Called again and spoke to Jesse. I asked him about the work he had performed for me 2 years ago and wanted an explanation of my bill. He said he would get back to me by days end. No call back. I called 3 more times and left messages with no response. I was not seeking refund or warranty work just information. This is a 3 week time frame. So ask questions . read more

Please people, don't go to this place because you will loose your money as I did. I took my truck Diesel 2008. Jessie pushed me to paid cash for not paying taxes for his business. He told me that my truck needed a motor whenever I asked him he checked my truck, he said yes, once he received the money he didn't answer me the phone calls I had to call business bureau, when I went to pick up my truck,leaking oil,missing parts, screws. If I could give a zero star reading, I would. OK tell everybody that thinks this guy is a great guy. He is not. I have sold hot rod parts for over 35 years never had to come back from any of my parts. I sell the Edelbrock and made other major companies and never had an issue. This guy gets the parts put some on the car and then put them on wrong. It destroys them and then tells the customer that the parts are no good so that's one issue. Then he has another customer that we sent him and he did the same thing to them so it's obviously not the parts. It's the mechanic. He's just a parts replacer and a half ass one at that so beware of this. The guy's name is Jesse and he is not a hot Rod shop. He is an oil changing shop. He diagnosed the issue quickly, explained everything clearly, and didn't try to talk in circles or upsell me on things I didn't need. Last month, I took my wife's Audi for 55k inspection , I knew the dealer would charge me an arm and leg, just for the diagnosis check looking at $270, they let me know the car was in solid condition, it just needed a few things here and there, nothing over the top, very reasonable. Today I took my own car, Honda Accord, 2 months ago I was told by place I was getting my new tires that I needed to get shocks replaced soon, today they did thorough inspection and told me I was good for at least a year or two. Brought my f-250 diesel cause of the DEF heater going bad (check engine light came on) Mike and Mary quoted me a price worse case scenario and a couple hours later truck was fixed !! It was exactly what Mike had said it would be and they fixed it at a very reasonable price. Great professionalism and service. Then there was a check coolant light as well that I asked him about and he immediately and I told him I had added coolant already and he checked and told me just needed to reset it and he did it and showed me as well how to do it. The other place before him that I took my truck for an oil change, which was the same place that quoted me higher for the DEF heater, said " have to replace sensor for coolant" Which was bullshit cause mike reset it in a few seconds. Clutch went out 6 months after having a brand new system installed at this shop. Very nice people but when their work leaves you stranded on the 5 freeway, it's hard to recommend at all. Took it back and even though it was under warranty, they said I would have to still pay to have the faulty clutch fixed. Wow! Finally an auto repair shop with ethics, honesty and professionalism. When my check engine light came on I assumed I needed a tuneup because my car was 50,000 miles And had never had one. I received a phone call from them stating that they were conservative and that my car could go 60 to 100,000 miles without the tune up so they diagnosed the problems and fixed them and made several calls to me to make sure everything would be approved and that's what I would like done. They told me there were a few things going but it was not necessary to replace them yet. This is a family run business and Mike and Mary are wonderful caring people. The most honest shop I've ever been too. I'll never go anywhere else again. I went to SCV auto in 2011 because my 200SX was acting up. They diagnosed it as a faulty timing belt and said it would be roughly $1500 to fix. Then they told me my money would be better spent taking the 200SX to the state buy-back program and using the money to buy a more reliable car. Wow, looking out for my best interest when it meant they would miss out on a $1500 dollar job?!? Customer for life from that moment on. SCV Auto Specialist are great!... Mike and Mary (owners) are just fantastic... They aren't the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive. But what they are is honest. If they say that something is wrong with your car, you can guarantee that it is needed... they arent looking for a quick buck and only use OEM replacement parts... no aftermarket, unless the aftermarket is better than the OEM... Mike was a former ford mechanic and is very familiar with the ford diesels and is the only one i will take my truck to... good quality work with no BS... they have had plenty of opportunities to take advantage of me, for example, i took my truck to the stealership and they said i needed new brakes, i told them i would have my mechanic do them, (thinking it would be cheaper)... after Mike looked at them, he told me they looked fine for now and there was no hurry to replace them.... it could of been easy money for him, but instead he told me the truth.... and there has been other occasions as well, as well as guiding me thru a repair over the phone when i broke down on vacation out of state... they are just good people .... so long story short...
