This was my first time venturing into the world of porcelain tile floors. And I was looking to do the entire downstairs. I was pretty nervous at the onset. I knew it was going to expensive and like everybody else I was on a pretty tight budget. Then I found SCV flooring. Thank God!!!! Awesome job. Johnny and his crew were true professionals. Neat. Clean. Orderly. Respectful. Super polite. Excellent at what they did and took pride in their work which was obvious by the finished product. Beautiful porcelain tile flooring. I got to know these guys during the days they were here and it sounds silly but I kind of miss their smiles and great attitude. They went above and beyond and even helped me take away some debris left by the not- so -professional electrician that I found on Yelp. From start to finish this was a good experience. Nick the owner was easy to reach as was John ( his assistant and sales rep who came over several times to bring samples). Now I will tell you that laying porcelain tile is an art form. It's not like putting down laminate. It is very precise. And a good job takes time. It took a two days longer than I expected but it was well worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and don't closely book your electrician and painter like I did. It just increased my stress level. And when I called Nick about this he was very understanding and talked me off the ledge. If you are looking for flooring installers you can stop looking now and just hire these guys. We bought a house 2 years ago and everything needed to be updated-kitchen, baths, exterior, landscaping, flooring, everything. We started with the kitchen and bathrooms. And when we were finally ready for the floors, I went to every flooring store in SCV. Let me save you the trouble and time--just go straight to SCV Floorsmith! They were great. Nick came over the SAME DAY I called to measure and give me a quote. He suggested that we refinish our solid oak floors instead of ripping them out-so glad we listened! He gave me a good package deal for the refinish and the carpet and put us on the schedule. The carpet guys were clean and fast. (And I LOVE the carpet!!!) The refinish guys were also fast and clean and also had to put up with my indecision about stain color (sorry Jose!!). They were very professional and patient. Nick worked with her, went to her office to review the design , gave new quotes and still completed the job on time. A definite recommend from us. Here is how the final product looked. Update - After sales service is very poor. Grout put in on tile is coming apart and owner will not call us back or respond to us visiting his showroom . I finally decided to change all the different floorings in my downstairs to one cohesive material. I talked to a few different contractors but ended up with SCV Floorsmith because they had a better selection and competitive pricing. It took me several months to decide on a wood because I was so hesitant to use it in areas prone to water usage and also, I was trying to match my existing furnishings in many rooms. Nick and John were so patient with me and really helped me to find and feel comfortable with my final selection. I selected a water-proof wood that turned out to look amazing in my home. The installation was during Christmas and we had a few issues but John made sure that they were handled and my home looked spectacular for my Christmas gathering. The only complaint I have is that it wasn't completely clear how much more it could potentially cost when they pulled up my old floor and discovered that the sub-flooring needed to all be replaced. To be fair though, it did state this in my contract. I really would have liked to had known what the potential was for any additional cost in advance--make sure to be clear on this. Had high expectations after reading all the great reviews. Contacted the business and scheduled a mobile showroom consultation. I let them know exactly what we were looking for (carpet, tile, and SPC) so they could bring the appropriate samples to look at. Boy, were we disappointed. The rep showed up with only 2 carpet samples. He measured everything and told us he would send us an estimate based on mid-price products until we make a selection. (never received that estimate btw) The next day I contacted the owner to see if we could see some more samples to get a more accurate quote. He said we could either stop by the showroom, or the rep could come by again with more samples. I opted for having more samples brought over, after all we chose the mobile showroom option for the convenience. Nick sent me the links to some manufacturers so I could choose which samples we would like to see. I sent him a list of 16 tile samples, 11 spc samples, and the type/product line of carpet we would like to look at. The next day I get a text message from the rep, stating that he was told we would stop by the showroom to drop off the samples he had left and what time he would be there...uhm - absolutely NOT what was discussed, which I let him know. He then said he could stop by later with the samples. I let him know what time we would be available. He showed up an entire hour early without prior notice. We weren't available at the time, so he texted me that he would leave the samples on our front porch, which was fine with us. Come to find out he only brought 4 out of 11 SPC samples, no tile, and no carpet?! How is that a mobile showroom??? Unfortunately, we weren't in love any of those 4 samples. I texted the rep and the owner that we didn't like any of the few samples. That was over a week ago now. The samples are still on our front porch to be picked up. There was no attempt made to show us the other samples, provide us with any estimate or show us in any way that they were interested in doing business with us (we are talking whole house floor replacement here). Very disappointed! Needless to say, we'll go with one of the other companies that provided us with an estimate and actually brought a bunch of samples in their mobile showroom to us. read more

Nick was recommended to us by our realtor, and we are glad she did! We had water damage on our bamboo floors and had to replace it in the whole house (minus bedrooms and bathrooms). Just had several rooms of carpeting replaced with wood flooring, and from Michelle's initial measuring and bid to Jose's completion walk-thru, we couldn't have asked for better service, quality of work -- or price! Their work was not only top-notch, but their pricing beat all others as well. Jose is the main installer, and he seems to have many years of experience. He does excellent work on his own, but he also draws you into the project when he's about to do something that could be done different ways -- he always asks "Would you like it this way or like this" -- very attuned to different tastes and really cares about giving you exactly what you want. We had just had a disastrous experience with another local flooring company that was so inept that they didn't know that a moisture barrier application can't leave concrete showing through every tooth of a trowel swipe (they ended up having to power-scrape and grind the worse-than-useless coating off every square inch of our 4 affected rooms), so we were left with hundreds of square feet of non-returnable wood from that company and a lot of apprehension about finding another company willing to install flooring that they couldn't personally guarantee (not to mention, not profit from). But Michelle and company were so gracious about this, and handled the sale of their service just as if we had come to them first and had bought everything from SCV Floorsmith. This was totally unexpected, but much appreciated. I just can't say enough about both Michelle's and Jose's friendliness and eagerness to please. I got Vinyl planks and carpet installed. I came here because of all the great reviews on Yelp. I'm disappointed with the service. Pros They can get you in faster than any of the other flooring people I called. They are great salesmen and help you feel good about your purchase Cons The contractors they hire are lazy. I had several things they needed to come back and fix and even more things that would require them ripping up the entire job to fix. They are expensive for the quality of work done. The contractors installed mangled shoe molding, left gaps at the end of the planks, installed the trim crooked, installed the shoe molding 1/4 inch higher at one end than the other, installed shoe molding over my dishwasher so I could not remove it, paid no attention to detail on the planks/trim/shoe molding/carpet cuts, left trash including chemicals inside and outside my house, they didn't dust the floors or vacuum the carpet after leaving. Overall what I was left with looks nice to people who come visit, but all the small things that couldn't be fixed bother me. read more

Nick and the rest of the staff were very accomodating and terrific to work with. They didn't stock the specific wooden flooring which we had in mind and so they ordered it specifically for us which was very nice. 5 stars for Nick and the crew. We had it installed throughout the upstairs of the house and on the stairs. We also got stacked stone installed on one of the walls (see pictures). Floor installation done very professionally and the workers were efficient and friendly, they did a 5 star job. The stone installers were also very professional and friendly, but I'd only give 4 stars on this work since there are some noticeable gaps where the stone was cut a little short doesn't quite make it to the edge of the adjoining wall. Overall though I would recommend this company - their price was very competitive and there were no big surprises along the way. read more
