    After 1 year!!

Selling poor quality carpet We had Mohawk carpet installed a year ago, it's absolutely HORRIBLE. Mohawk does not honor their "quality 25 year warranty". Normal wear from a couple of senior citizens. Carpet is falling apart, no longer pilled, looks like a shaggy wet dog. I will never buy anything Mohawk again

Hired Santora and they came to show samples. A week later we asked for some additional samples which they special ordered and dropped off. It was great service. We then decided to work with Santora and that's when disappointment began. We gave them a few days that worked for us and never heard back. We had to call and ask when we were/if we were scheduled! On the scheduled day on install; the crew was over two hours later than the time they gave (8-9am) and didn't arrive until almost 11am. When calling was told they were running a little late-- they DID NOT CALL US, we called them. Once they arrived they did the whole houses carpet as we had expected. Upon completion we noticed many scratches on our baseboards, and on the walls, ceiling and railing of our stairwell. This was immediately after Christmas so we were busy and didn't call to discuss the damage until end of January. (Had a new baby come in that time as well). We provided photos of the issues and informed them the following "the worst areas are in the stairwell areas where they likely pulled the carpet up the stairs and scratched paint. There are also lots of nicks in baseboards but we didn't take photos of every one. We had paint done on 11/7/17 (~40 days prior to carpet install); so this isn't wear and tear on our house/paint! And we aren't talking about where paint was pulled up from The carpet being pulled up. We knew and expected that but didn't expect walls and under-sides of ceiling and corners to get scraped. " We never heard back from them on any type of discount or apology. I would not recommend this company! Didn't confirm our install date. We had to call! Late! Irresponsible for damage!

Larry and Kyle are very professional and friendly, knowledgeable and fair. After reading reviews, I sent a request for information late one evening, and Larry answered within an hour. We set up and appointment for Larry and his son Kyle to give me an in-home estimate on replacing about 500 square feet of old carpeting in two bedrooms and their walk-in closets. Kyle walked me through various fiber and style choices and even helped me pick the color. Larry measured the rooms and gave me a quote for installation, moving furniture, and the removal of the old carpeting. The price was very reasonable, so Kyle prepared a contract for me, he checked with the manufacturer for stock status, and we picked a date for the installation. Since I live in a condo, I needed a Certificate of Insurance to present to the building management company so the work could be approved. Larry sent me one without delay. The installation itself was so smooth. The team, Pedro Jr. and Luis, arrived right on time, moved furniture with great care, took up the old carpeting and padding, and put down the new. The master bedroom is large enough to require seams in the carpeting, and they did a great job. When they were finished, they vacuumed thoroughly and even cleaned the building's common areas like the hallway and lobby to make sure there was no trace of carpet and padding crumbs. They were kind enough when replacing the furniture to allow me to measure carefully and they repositioned the furniture to my exact specifications. I'd been thinking about getting new carpeting for a couple of years now, and it was reading the fabulous reviews for Larry and Kyle and American Carpet that gave me the confidence to go ahead and do it. So if you live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and you are hesitating over getting new carpeting, take the plunge and call Larry and Kyle. You can be sure you will be treated with respect by honest and skilled professionals who stand by their quality product and their superb installation. A thunderous shout-out to Larry, Kyle, Pedro Jr., Luis, and everyone at American Carpet. My bedroom floors are glorious!

The company's name should have been our first red flag--"Trend Carpet & Tile" doesn't even mention hardwood floors, which isn't their specialty. My advice: look elsewhere. We worked with Sarah, the daughter of the owner, who lives in our neighborhood. She was not helpful when I first reached out with concerns. She told me their floors had a one-year warranty and there was nothing they could do. I then asked her to involve the flooring product company to inspect the floors, and invited her to come see the issue in person, as she had only seen photos. She never followed through. I suggested that the product they used might be defective, as the problems had worsened over the last year, but no action was taken. To make matters worse, we began noticing issues just 90 days after installation similar to what we see now. The installer, Andrew, dismissed our concerns and claimed it was normal. However, the problems continued to get worse. Sarah from Trend blamed our household for using a Roomba, having pets, and having children, all of which she claimed caused the issues. I told her that whatever products they used weren't durable enough for a typical household if that is what did the damage. She even went as far as blaming our use of Bona Floor Cleaner, which is non-toxic and widely recommended product with no complaints that I could find showing it damaged floors. Trend Carpet & Tile never specified the duration of their warranty or provided guidance on what floor cleaners to use or avoid. I never expected to need a floor refinishing just two years after installation! The photos clearly show that 30-40% of the floors look like now. They have large greyish/white patches where the finish has failed or warn off prematurely. These issues are not caused by a Roomba or cleaning products, but by a faulty product that Trend Carpet & Tile isn't want to stand behind. The VP of the company, Sara, was rude and only friendly when there was a sale to be made or a check to be collected. She seemed more focused on attracting new customers than resolving issues with existing ones. Despite their website "Customer Satisfaction statement" they did nothing to make things right with us. Buyer beware!!

When we were trying to make our carpet selection, Paul was able to send samples out quickly and made the whole process very straightforward. They were also incredibly flexible with scheduling. We had other work being completed in the house that kept running longer than expected, which forced us to push our carpet installation back several times. DeSitter was understanding and worked with us each time without making the situation difficult. The installation itself was excellent. Alfredo and his crew replaced all of the existing tack strip and were extremely careful around our newly installed and freshly painted baseboards and newly painted walls. We were especially concerned about damage since so much other work had just been completed, but the crew treated the house with a lot of care. The installers also stayed late on a weekday to make sure they remained on schedule and could completely finish the job the following day. Which was great because it was new carpeting throughout the entire house. That extra effort was very much appreciated. Overall, DeSitter was professional, accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. We are very happy with both the finished product and the experience and would definitely recommend them.
