When reading their reviews you have to consider, what kind of work other reivewers had done. If you're getting maintenance done on your teeth such as cleaning, I'm sure you'll be writing good reviews too. I was seeing this dentist a few times and was satisfied enough to over look their imperfections. However when I need "REAL" work done, they were sloppy. CONS: The lady at front desk, Casandra, does a horrible job at checking your insurance to see what is covered. If she's working, make sure you're well versed in your benefits, you keep good records on what you had done in the past and ask plenty of questions. Everything is rushed once they decided what they think you need done. They are severely over priced. The positive reviews on Yelp allows them to charge ridiculous amounts of $$ when you can get the same job done some place else in better quality and for much less. My sister in my hometown of Fresno got her wisdom tooth taken out by specialist for $250 total for 2 teeth while under anesthesia. I am now paying the $247.60 out the door plus an additional $150 that my insurance won't cover. This is for one tooth, no anesthesia by this dentist. I recently learned that other offices were charging less than SDDS after the fact.. The work is sloppy. It's been months since i had my wisdom tooth taken out and my teeth still hurts from time to time. I'm an RN, I work with doctors all the time and this one does not know what he's doing. When he pulled out my tooth, his exact words were, "We've had patients where they had us sweating because we had trouble getting them out" Money is not an issue on my end. I have no problem paying top dollar for quality service, but to be fair, they have to do a better job at checking your insurance benefits. Just because I can afford it, it doesn't mean I want to pay that much if you can't do your job right. Secondly, as previously stated by another reviewer, the dentist is pompous. Upon my first visit he made it clear that "...these are the services were provide and if you don't like it, you can go someplace else" When reading these reviews, take note how no "damage control" was made on behalf of their office. I used to hate going to the dentist, like with any other person, there's the underlying fear of pain with every dental treatment. But with SDDS dental, there wasn't any fear, it was a connection I experienced. Dr. Safaei really knows what he is doing. He explains each procedure in meticulous detail, establishing a great bond of trust. He follows up the development of his patients, and he makes sure that his clients get the utmost care for their teeth. He is a perfectionist, he maintains a very reliable staff, and uses only state of the art equipment. I had deep cleaning, teeth bleaching/whitening, extraction, filling, and veneers. It was a big decision, but I knew that I was in great hands with Dr. Safaei. From the receptionist, to the dentist and his assistant - everyone treated me more like family than anything else. I actually look forward to every visit because I know I am truly being taken cared of by the best dentist in town. After the entire process was completed, I still cannot stop looking at my teeth many times a day. I feel more confident about myself. I have to start by saying that my experiences here at SDDS was well above my expectations. From the initial phone call to make the appointment and throughout both visits to the office. Dr Safaei is an amazing dentist. I've never had a good experience at a dental office so I was nervous initially but from the friendly front office check in to my x-rays that were quick and painless to meeting Dr Safaei, my nerves were put at ease. It was actually enjoyable! Who says that about a dentist appointment?! I do! Now that I found SDDS. Almost sounds like a commercial but thats how pleasant my experience was. Thank you to everyone there. Before I end this I have to admit that I was shaking my head at some of the ignorant reviews and the untactful inaccurate character reviews. If I scheduled a cleaning at a dentist that has never seen me before and he didn't want x-rays and an exam it would worry me. Does he not want to know and understand what's going on in my mouth to better assist me and give me the best possible treatment? Dr Safaei does! This is so far the best dentist I have had. The whole team are great, very personal, friendly and totally down to Earth. This is not a big corporation, nor an insensitive chain of business, I did not feel like a number for my dentist but I felt that he cares and they try to accommodate to my needs and situation. They are not pushy at all such as previous dentists that I had before, and they have a great system to email and text me to remind me and confirm my appointments. I got a root canal as never before, no pain, no suffering and quite fast. Their lab made a great crown and Dr. Navid was precise and knowledgeable. I was impressed how easy he made it look, because I know from experience how difficult it can be. Two fixings in my crawn after trying and it fits perfect, in less than 30 minutes I was done with a perfect comfortable crown, only 2 visits for my root canal. Came here because of the positive yelp reviews. Was not dissappointed. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. They checked my insurance before my visit and I had all the paperwork filled out from their website. I was seated quickly and took the necessary xrays. Digital xrays are a huge plus for me because they hurt less. Dr. Safaei saw me (I think he's the only dentist thankfully). Atmosphere was professional and fun. Yes, dr. Safaei and the staff actually make it enjoyable. The assistant was very pleasant and the front girl was very helpful. Needed a lot less treatment than I expected. Only two fillings and a regular cleaning! Hadn't been to the dentist in three years. Win! Got it all finished same day which was another plus. Overall very positive experience. Honest, fun, pleasant. A+... Dr. Safaei and team are excellent! The office is very clean and modern and doesn't have a clinical feel to it. I felt at ease and assured that I was in good hands. I don't have the easiest of work schedules but SDDS Dental has been more than accommodating to my scheduling needs for this I am very grateful! Dr. Safaei was very efficient and attentive. I never once felt as though my procedure was rushed like some of the previous offices I visited in the past! Dr. Safaei is my miracle worker! I have had nothing but bad dental experiences since the age of 9 when I broke my front two teeth. I went to SDDS Dental a couple days ago and I had a great experience. Dr. Safaei and his staff were friendly and helpful. I went in for a deep cleaning and the staff used this new gel numbing solution instead of the old injection into the gums process. The lady rubbed the gel onto my gums making sure she got every spot. When it was time for the deep clean I didn't feel any pain. Because of it, I was in and out in approximately 30 minutes. Thanks again! read more

Very comfortble office. They make you feel very comfortable and don't push or pressure. They go the extra mile to explain everything and make sure it's explained. The girls working there are very nice and definitely help you with the insurance and all the questions. I have been to several dentists in town and this office has met all my needs. Dr navid was great! He has a great personality and takes some of the fear away from going to the dentist. Ive been around to alot of dental offices in bakersfield and none have been as honest, and reasonable as sdds. also, his staff is very amicable and the facility is very high tech.
