This is the second time I used them. This time it was the put an outlet outside so I could charge my new electric car. I am happy with the service that I got from Josh (Oshin). I asked them to install a new thermostat connected to my Wi-Fi. He is friendly and he takes the time to explain when asked a question. I lost power to my house at 7:30am this morning, called SDS right away, and an electrician was at my door within 30 minutes. After investigating the issue and realizing it was related to the city and they would need to come out, the electrician apologized profusely for not being able to help and didn't charge a dime for the service call. We've had SDS replace electrical boxes on two houses now. The recent one was a major job because they also relocated it. The price was ridiculously fair, they worked their butts off, and they did a fantastic job. Passed inspection with flying colors, took care of all the permitting stuff for us, great. When we realized that there was a simple error (solar guys were particular about placement of a breaker for some reason), SDS returned and fixed it at no cost. Had four recessed lights installed in my kitchen condo this morning by Serge and Edgar. They showed up on time, and worked incredibly efficiently. Within an hour and a half, they installed four new recessed lights and removed my old, ugly light fixture. They also installed a dimmer switch for me at a small additional charge. Mike and Leo (his picture is on the website) was ontime as scheduled. They assessed the situation correctly. One of the circuit breakers kept tripping/shut off because my tenants used many appliances. Mike and Leo listened to us and recommended 3 new lines and 3 outlets to be installed in different rooms in the rear of the house. The work was done in August 2014 and it was hot. They did a good and clean job. I have two homes and have dealt with different contractors on many situations and I'd say that Mike and Leo were professional and so was the work. The price was determined in advance and there were no surprises. So far, the circuit breaker works fine and only tripped when my tenant plugged in an air conditioning unit which they were not supposed to anyway. We bought a new home and had an assortment of electrical work that needed to get done. The list including adding a TV outlet behind a fireplace, adding recessed lighting in a downstairs family room, replacing a front porch light, adding three boxes and ceiling fans to upstairs rooms, and also hanging a very complicated pool table light. Josh came on time and provided a reasonable estimate which I accepted. Within a hour we were scheduled for the following Tuesday. It was a long day of work, but they brought it some extra guys as the day went on, and Josh himself came and helped finish the last part of the install, and everything was completed perfectly. Even better, for all the new wiring, after everything was finished there were only three very small holes that needed patching. My drywall guy was a little disappointed in the lack of work afterwards. I'm already scanning the house looking for more potential electrical work - highly recommended. read more

We had 2 faulty sockets and a breaker that kept tripping. Mike came and fixed them in no time at all. He showed us the faulty sockets and ran us through what he was fixing and the completed results. After he left I forgot to remind him of another faulty socket. I felt bad that I had to call him back but when he arrived he said it wasn't a problem. That was so nice of him. I appreciate handymen who are courteous and thorough. Because of the excellent service we hope to have him come back when we have more time to install a socket in our basement for our washer and dryer and possibly some lighting. We have used SDS Electric for a number of projects: Everything from an initial rewire of our house to smaller jobs like adding an outdoor outlet for an electric gate. Great experience! Had a problem with a set of dimmer switches that been installed incorrectly previously by someone else. Was able to get apt. in 24 hours...the guys got to house on the front side of the allotted time frame (thank you very much) had to trace wires and diagnose problem. The pricing to repair was 1/3 less what I had been quoted by another company. They were referred to me by a neighbor who had used them many times in the past and great things to say about them. When they arrived I asked them to check it out to see if there was faulty wiring somewhere. SDS is as good as it gets and then some. Their guys are professional and wonderful. Based on reviews, I hired SDS to replace my electrical panel. They were so easy to work with and did such a clean and amazing job that I hired them to do all of the electrical work on my kitchen/ bathroom remodel. They did such a great job on my unit that I recommended that they be the company to replace all of the electrical panels in my condo complex (we had old Zinsco panels that did not trip and could cause fires). All of my neighbors commented on how clean and courteous SDS was. I had a minor issue a few months after work in my home was completed. SDS came over and fixed it, no charge, no argument, no issues. They work calmly and professionally with building inspectors and other contractors. They are fairly priced and I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone who asks. read more
