We decided to go parasailing the last day of our trip and were given directions to be at one location; however, the boat departed from another location. I called and spoke to Rebecca at Searocket concerned that no one was at the location (Pier I) and was told the crew was probably at sea. We finally saw another boat come in and asked them if they knew anything about Searocket and was told they depart from the other side of the pier. So, we get down there after sitting in the sun for an hour to watch the boat leave without us. This is our first time visiting Ft. Lauderdale and this is not how we wanted to end our trip. We called and asked if we could reschedule for the last trip and we're given the run around. I asked for a corporate number and was told that one was not available. Started off a horrible experience. We followed the instructions in the email to be at the 45th street location 25 minutes prior to departure. When we arrived, we were told that we needed to be at the Dorchester location. Okay, no problem 10 minute drive. Get to Dorchester and they send us back to 45th. I wanted a refund on the spot but my wife really wanted to do the trip so we drove back up to 45th. Finally made it. Owen, our captain was great and we got to see some horses on Assateague Island. Worst customer service. No direction that you need to check in about two blocks away from the boat prior to boarding. The photographer who also is a the ships mate spoke loud enough during the initial part of the boat ride using the F word while Little kids were present. And his attitude was extremely cocky and arrogant from the beginning to end of the trip. There are other options to choose from for a boat ride. The ships captain was decent but unfortunately your team is what will sink the ship. And clearly no one gave any tips. For spending close to $200 for the ride. I would think they would be more appreciative . We live in OCMD in the summer and taking the grand children on this ride was quite disappointing from the time the photographer arrived till it ended. We called after the trip to their call center and ask for a member of management to call us back. Never got any kind of response. read more

We've been in the Sea Rocket several times over the years. 2012 was the last time we rode. The difference in our last trip in 2012 vs 2020 is: 1. 2012 trip went to the high rises much longer trip 2020 trip went to 63rd/64th street which is where oir beach place is located so we knew exactly where we turned around. So the trip was shortened for sure. 2. 2012 trip there was commentary throughout the trip giving fun tips on where to eat or just some interesting facts about Ocean City/history- this was great and something they used to include. 3. 2012 & 2020 basic trip was nice...both captains were good about stoppimg for the dolphins... 4. 2012 trip they took pictures that they would charge you for if you wanted them (never liked this) 2020 trip the host offered to take pictures with your phone - no charge - so nice since no one wants to pay for photos anymore. Obviously cost for the tickets are more pricey and gas prices and salaries have impacted length of trip. But overall if ya want to see the OC coast it is a nice trip. Think about a little commentary! Since we're at the beach....maybe play more tropical music.....Bob Marley...Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Buffett...steal drums...makea for a nice water experience. read more

Made reservations for a private cruise. Got there 15 min early, and followed directions to head over to the dock behind the Aloft hotel to find that the stand was closed and there was no boat anywhere. I called and spoke to a receptionist who saw our reservation but was unable to tell me where our boat was or why the dock was closed. She said she was going to contact the boat to find out where it was and to wait 15 minutes for a call from the boat. Ummm...you are a boating company and you do not know where your boat is? And you have to wait to hear their location? Don't you have walkie-talkies or cell phones or any tracking device??? No way we were going to get on a boat knowing this even if it did show up. Well, 15 minutes pass, hear nothing, call to ask for a refund and she proceeds to tell me that there are no refunds. Really, your boat was a no-show and I still have to pay!? And we had trip insurance as well! We did eventually get a refund from Sea Rocket but we are waiting for our refund from the insurance company but c'mon...we expected way better from a well-known company! Disappointed and will share this with friends and family that visit OCMD. read more

I booked a trip online for the of us. It was a special treat for my dad whole we were down in OC. We get to the office/ trailer described on the website and no one is there. We are waiting with several other people who booked the trip as well. The departure time came and went and no one showed. They still billed my credit card so I have to do a chargeback now. A week went by and the credit was not given. Called again and was promised it would be done. Again a week went by and called a third time. Horrible cruise. Way over-priced. Everyone that works there is rude from the purchase of tickets to the boat crew. The 2 boys that worked the cruise were inpersonable and the boy that was suppose to be talking was on his phone the whole time. He wouldn't have seen a dolphin if it was right in front of the boat. In fact, one of the passengers said they saw a dolphin & he said "oh I don't know how I missed it". He didn't tell us about anything around us...we literally rode 20 minutes out, turned around and came back. No excitement or fun. One of my kids fell asleep bc they were so bored. I booked this boat ride back in March for the Fourth of July and of course we get there an hour and a half early and long story short the boat ride was cancelled due to fog. Place was great and either have you a full refund or allowed you to get a rain check. We came back the following morning and were able to get on the boat this time for a ride. The ride takes you along the entire coast and out to where the dolphins are. I really wasn't expecting to see any bc I know animals won't come out on command but they were jumping EVERYWHERE around us. My 4 year old loved it and so did my wife so I was glad for that. On the way back to captain was zipping around and able to get some of us wet which my son loved. He especially loved it because he and I both got soaked lol. I highly recommend booking a ride on the sea rocket to do something different then just sit at the beach all day. And a quick tip make sure you put important items in a waterproof bag and they take a photograph of you and your group before boarding which you can purchase after the trip. It's $8 and they really do take nice photographs so bring cash. read more

I never parasailed in my life and after this experience I'll never do it again. We were the last ones to go up in the air and when it was time to do our "toe touch" in the water the guide thought it would be funny to submerge us and basically make us feel like we were drowning and then when we finally came back up, they had hit us so hard into the water my harness came off from under me. So I was basically only holding on by the leg straps. Thanks for making our experience horrible, terrifying and charging us for it. I have it all in video as well and you can hear the guides laughing as they did this. Never again! Not only un-professional but dangerous. Use a different company. read more

My wife and I went on the Sea Rocket years ago, and had a great time. So, when we decided to go again, I was anticipating another fun adventure. Unfortunately, things got off to a bad start at check-in. We had bought tickets online the day before, and arrived at check-in twenty minutes before departure time. There was no organization at the check-in trailer, so there were people buying tickets for other times and activities, people cutting in line, and groups standing in line waiting for other members to join them. When I finally got to the front of the "line", my transaction took about 30 seconds. A very simple improvement would be to have lines indicated (there were two cash registers); have one for people who have pre-purchased, and another for people making purchases. If there's nobody in the pre-purchase line, take the next in the purchase line - pretty simple, but would make a big difference in efficiency. So, after barely making the loading time, we ended up sitting on the side, as there were no more seats facing forward, either in the front or back of the boat. We chose to sit on the starboard side, which turned out to be a mistake. When the boat went north, it was pretty close to shore, so it was easy to get pictures from the port side; I figured it would be as close going back south. Unfortunately, I was wrong - going south we were much farther out, so it was hard to get good pictures of the shore. So, if you have to wait at the trailer long enough to barely make the ride, despite buying in advance, choose the port side, so you can get a good view of the shore (and some good pictures if you're giving it a try). Take some hearing protection, and know that all you're going to do is go up and back. It was fun the first time; not so much the second. So, your experience may vary - I hope yours is better than mine. read more

For years I've watched the Sea Rocket pass by as I lay on the beach and always said "someday".... Well today was the day! From their website I was able to book tickets and only have to show the email confirmation email from phone at the ticket trailer. At 10 am I tried to book same day tickets for the 1:45 pm ride but all rides up to That one were sold out. Booked two tickets for the 3:30 pm ride and for that time there was a 3$ discount so that was nice. The parking lot, ticket trailer and loading dock are next to De Lazy Lizard restaurant. I strongly suggest purchasing online way in advance because when we picked up our tickets 30 minutes prior to boarding, they were telling people the 3:30pm was already sold out but they could buy for later in the day. Walked to the loading pier and were close to the last in line to load so get there plenty early. The seats are first come first serve so we ended up having to sit on the side bench but that was fine. Still got to see everything. Note to parents of babies and toddlers- this is not fun for them. All the babies and toddlers on our ride were screaming and crying most of the ride. Its a speed boat folks. Its loud, the water splashes up (especially in the back seats, and it's fast ). Leave the little ones with a friend back at your hotel. The captain was very nice and did some tour guiding that I wish I would have been able to hear all of but was hard due to the engine sound. His mate walked around and offered to take pics of people with their cameras. (End of trip the captain suggested to tip him but we didn't take any money for fear it would blow away). Before you can get on the boat you are FORCED to pose for a photo before you can get on. We tried to refuse the pic because we'd just come off the beach with wet hair, no make up and beach attire and did not want a picture , but were denied access to the boat until we allowed her to take a pic. She claimed that was how they counted passengers. Hmmmm. If that were the case then why were all the pictures printed up and posted on a board for purchase afterwards. I don't think anyone should be forced to have their picture taken if they don't want to. It did not say on the website that even after you pay for your seats you can't get on unless you allow your picture to be taken. I've been on plenty of dinner cruises and not been forced to have my pic taken before boarding and was irritated to see my picture printed up on the for sale board at exit. But this review is five stars for the boat experience and not for the lady who forced the photos by stating no picture, no getting on because that's how they count passengers. More like that's how she makes money after the ride by selling photo souvineers. Just what I wanted looking a mess. Not! The boat ride is about 50 minutes and the captain stops in dolphin area and lets you get up to take pictures. He also stops near Assateague (spelling?) Island to look at the wild ponies. We were able to see a group of them standing near the shore. All in all was a great experience. Something fun to do besides putt putt, boardwalk and the beach. Worth the 15$ per person price. Some trips are 18$ depending on time of day. Very easy to find and plenty of parking. read more

This was the first time I have been on the sea rocket in years. We would go on it yearly. It's such a fun and beautiful ride. The two guys running it were a blast and the music was awesome. It is close to an hour ride. Takes you all the way down to the end of ocmd. Beautiful view! Unfortunately, in all my years riding this, I've never seen dolphins. Ironically, my husband and I went straight to the beach after our ride and the 2nd one out after us had stopped. I assume they got lucky! Either way, it's a great activity to do alone or with family and kids. Especially if you are a water addict like me!! It's a little pricey at $22 a person (unless you go during the two times you can use a coupon.) read more

I would put this at the top of the things to do while in OC! The crew is super friendly and make sure that everyone is having a great time. They actively watch for the bottle nose dolphins and will stop the boat to get a good look! We had a pod swimming right up next to us! We booked for the new sunset cruise offering. I even stopped by the booth early to purchase my tickets in anticipation that it would sell out quickly with the current social distancing protocols. When I arrived for our scheduled time, I was in shock. There was a street full of people waiting to board the boat. As we all entered the boat, it became quite clear that no COVID measures were occurring. No mask restrictions and almost every seat filled. The boat ride was beautiful and would have been wonderful otherwise but they really should be complying with the state regulations in place. read more

First off, they moved 2 blocks down to 700 S. Philadelphia Ave. This was a very enjoyable hour long boat trip. Very family friendly. It's basically a super sized speed boat that fits about 50 people. Kids under 12 ride free unless there's more than 2 kids, in which case they're only $6. Our guy took us all the from south Ocean City to the Delaware border and then back. We did find a pod of dolphins, and the boat driver circled around multiple times so we could all get a good look. During the ride, one of the staff went around the boat offering to take pictures with our personal cameras, which was very nice. The driver did try to give tourist info about various spots, but i couldnt really hear him very well over the noise of the boat. Overall, great experience and I would definitely go back read more

Fun & affordable! Searocket offered the best value, with kids going free with each paid adult. Less than $50 for 5 of us is an outstanding value! Seeing assateague and Ocean City from the ocean is an experience not to be missed! We saw dolphins as well! The captain maneuvered the boat to get a better angle, and reversed it so those on other side of the boat could see too. It was a great experience for adults & kids. We will definitely do again, and when we come back next year..we will book Searocket again! read more
