We have been going to Sea Siam for over 25 years. This place has declined over the years. We have celebrated many special occasions at Sea Siam. They HAD good food and friendly service. Now you go in and the place is almost empty. It used to be packed all the time. They have only one waiter serving all the four or five tables in the dining room. The hostess just sits on her phone in the front doing nothing. I needed a refill on a drink and waiter never came around to see how we were doing. I asked the hostess and she didn't tell anyone I had requested more drinks. She went back to playing on her phone. The waiter was rude and dismissive when we specifically asked for our food to be mild and it came out spicy. They eventually replaced the dish and my complaints are not with the food taste or quality it's with the service and lack of attention you receive. The dining experience is not the same. Hire another waiter instead of having a hostess sit on her phone doing nothing. I think we are done with Sea Siam at least for awhile. This has been our experience the last three times! read more

We thought our waiter, Asaki, might be the owner of the restaurant because he was so thoughtful and attentive to our every need. It's not often that an employee takes such pride in their work, and we were all impressed with his dedication. The carved orange bird garnishing the platteewas a lovely touch, too. This is most definitely an underrated place. I dined here for the first time a couple of hours ago and my experience was very pleasant! After a failed attempt to Gyu-Kaku with some friends, one of them recommended coming here instead. We were immediately seated, and greeted by our friendly waiter Danny. He was most helpful with the menu and answered all my questions. I began with a Thai Iced Tea, and the Vietnamese Summer Rolls. My friends chose the Coconut shrimp. Our dishes were out within minutes and we all shared. The summer rolls were fresh, and delicious. My only gripe was the dipping sauce. They were served with a sweet chili sauce, and while it was flavorful, I would have preferred them with the thai peanut sauce that they typically come with. The Coconut Shrimp was plump, crispy, and the portion was generous. They were very good and we all enjoyed them. After devouring our appetizers, we finally settled on our entrees. I ended up choosing the Sushi Appetizer which consisted of a tuna roll with sashimi. I was very indecisive and figured this would be the best dish to go with, since I was not very hungry at this point, but was craving sashimi. The dish was good, although I ended up picking all the fish out of the rolls and just eating that. Lol. I think it's safe to say the Thai Iced Tea had filled me, as I had basically chugged it down before the appetizers made their appearance, but hey, that just goes to show it was well made. I've lived by this place my whole life and yet never stepped foot inside until I was recommended by a friend. Let me begin by saying it's worth your while. We were seated immediately and taken care of by Danny. He was extremely respectful and helpful. He provided us with service, that most servers do not know how to do. We started off with coconut shrimp and shrimp hand rolls. Both were good. (This is coming from a person who doesn't care coconut). As for entrees we ordered the fire chicken, a red roll, and a tuna roll. My favorite was the red roll. It was absolutely Superb especially with the three sauces they give to you. Also in addition they were able to cater to me as I like my sushi cut thin. Most places don't do that which can be aggravating. Lastly we had Thai donuts. I know all Thai donuts seem to be the same. But I don't know what to tell you other than these were better than any other Thai donuts I have had before. They were crispy and soft all at the same time. I was excited to try Sea Siam because I was really impressed with leftovers that my daughter brought home. I was expecting the same quality when I ordered take out. However, this was probably the worst Japanese/Thai food I ever had. They forgot the sauce on my entree, the noodles were mush, the chicken barely resembled meat and the fried rice was just white rice with some vegetables and no flavor. I ended up throwing all my food away (almost $75). Perhaps something in the restaurant has changed because friends that eat there frequently also said their last meal was terrible and wont be returning. Disappointing. read more

Once we were seated it took a really long time to be greeted by our server even though it wasn't packed or busy. We finally had to flag down another employee to take our order. Once the order was put in, the food came out really fast which was amazing considering we waited so long to put it in. The food was delicious and it made up for the fact that we waited so long for it. Everything was hot and fresh. Our server wasn't very attentive and towards the end we had another server even though it our original one was still taking tables. I thought maybe he had gone home but he was still around. This is a hidden gem. I've been coming here since i was a kid. The sushi is consistently good, and their thai food is delicious. I'm a big curry fan, and those don't disappoint. My go-to orders are the American dream roll and the beef massaman curry. I've found that in the past, the servings of curry were lessened for take out orders; meaning, they put less meat and veggies in the takeout curry, compared to eating in-house. However, I haven't seen that in a while. The employees are always friendly, and the sushi bar is a great spot to eat. At the sushi bar, they serve a complementary krab salad that is delicious. Give this place a try if you're in the Pinecrest/Palmetto Bay/Falls area. read more

I'm surprised the average on this place isn't higher. We had a great experience here the other night! Another thing that surprises me is that this place has been at this very same spot for almost my entire life and I had never tried it. What's up with that? Sea Siam is solid. The decor is appropriate for a Thai restaurant, I love that it feels a little different in here. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious! I had tofu red curry which was exquisite. My husband had some ginger tofu and I have to say I liked HIS tofu better than mine since it was nice a crispy on the outside. We had some lychee martinis which were yummy as well. Bursting with flavor I can't fully express how amazing this place is! While adhering to the Covid 19 regulations this little hole in the wall in Pinecrest combines Japanese & Thai cuisine. I've included two cooked rolls. Typically I get the dragon roll however I wanted to spice it up and try the Siam roll. I have to say delicious. I also got the volcano chicken not included in the pictures. It's a spin off taste on bang bang shrimp but better. I was soo full sharing these two rolls I asked for it to go. I hadn't been here in years, and it was my wife's first time. I was craving Tom Kar Gai. My wife is allergic to coconut, so she got a Tom Yun Gai. I also selected a Nam Sod for us to split. We grow our own Moruga Scorpion chiles, so no surprise that we requested all three "Thai Hot." I called ahead. The lady who took our order answered the phone on the second ring and was extremely polite and efficient. When we got there to pick it up, our food was ready exactly when they said it would be. The lady working the front counter (pretty sure it was the same person who took our order) was very personable and got us in and out with no fuss. Got home. Dug in. The Tom Kar Gai was exactly how I remembered it: probably the best in Dade County. Rich, creamy, fragrant with coconut, lime, and herbs. Enough chicken that I didn't feel disappointed, but not so much that I felt like a pig. Same for the Nam Sod. Cold and refreshing. The lettuce and veg were obviously very fresh to have that much crunch. Redolent of ginger, cilantro, and lime, with just enough onion and plenty of peanuts. Exactly the kind of thing you'd want to eat on a hot summer night. The only criticism I have is that they're expensive. Seven bucks for less than a pint of soup is a bit much. Normally, I'd take a star off for that. There are two reasons I won't. One, the food is really good. The flavors are right, and the ingredients are fresh. If you want to pay fast food prices, grab a salad at a drive-thru. Two, look at their location. Real estate in Pinecrest ain't cheap. Overall, I'd continue to highly recommend Sea Siam. Just be prepared to spend some money. Edit: I have to dock them a star. My wife's soup had shrimp rather than chicken. Thankfully, I'm the one with the shellfish allergy, but that's a pretty big blunder to make. read more

They charge $24 for a roll that they use canned tuna for... not only that but if you order the $20 special fried rice you will in fact receive plain old chicken fried rice without a steak or shrimp piece in sight. Ah, Sea Siam. I live right down the street so when I lived in Miami I came here pretty often. On one of my first dates with my husband we came here and he bought me the fried ice cream and I fell in love- with the ice cream. Haha. One of the things I like most is how their restaurant is set up. When you walk in there are tables just like any normal restaurant. And to your right is the bar area that is way more "intimate" if you will. The service can be kinda EH at times. I feel like the hostesses, and servers aren't the friendliest. I don't know his name but the waiter with the thick glasses is my favorite. He's the only super pleasant one in there. Anyway, I've never had a bad dish here. The red rose roll is the best roll I've EVER had. The beauty and the beast roll is also another favorite roll of mine. The chicken pad Thai or volcano chicken are good for sharing. I have been going to Sea Siam for more than twenty years. I always order 503 Pad Woonsen $15.00 (chicken) which is supposed to be served with a clear noodle and a small bowl of soup with a couple pieces of chicken.I went there yesterday and placed my order. The soup arrived and it was a very dark broth that was not the same as in the past. It was sooooo salty I could not eat it. The soup also smelled burnt. They came the meal. The clear noodles had turned dark brown. I said to the server the noodles were not clear as in the past. She argued with me saying that is how they have always been made. I told her no they have always been clear and the soup was never salty. She told me no the noodles were never clear without brown sauce. Now , I have a witness to a previous visit about two months ago and he will verify previous visit. I will NEVER go to to this venue again. I do not want my meal to be prepared with a salty fluid. The reason I kept going to this location was the clear noodles were, in fact, clear not brown. I did not appreciate the waitress who has waited on me in the past telling that I was WRONG. i love this spot, their menu is so big. This time i decided to give their sushi a try. The one with the hearts is a specialty roll (it's name is something with a rose) it was REALLY good. And the one with what looks like cheese on it, is called the volcano roll - i wouldn't order that again but it wasn't bad. Came here 3 days ago & I've been craving the whole fried snapper in chilli sauce and the crispy duck ever since, so I had to get takeout today! Ordered the whole fried snapper in chilli sauce, the crispy duck, a green curry with shrimp, a shrimp tempura roll and a volcano roll. I can't wait to go home & eat! I have been coming to this Sea Siam for years now. It is reasonably priced and I don't think I have ever had a bad meal. The dragon rolls are amazing and very fresh. Around 4 years ago I ordered the California roll for take out. I wanted to go back and experience the restaurant after I saw inside how pretty the decor was, the bar, and how good my food tasted.
