We stayed in room 238, towards the back of the bulding. The room was ample and had a mini fridge and microwave, but the TV was on the small side. The room was clean, with no funky smell, but the bed sounded like there was something broken towards the bottom because it kept making a knocking noise whenever you sat down. The bed itself was comfy, with four rather flat pillows (we brought our own pillows). The room had a closet and dresser, table with two chairs, and a K-cup coffee maker. The sink area offered a hair dryer as well (which is a nice thought!). The bathroom was a good size with a tub and shower stall, and the water pressure in the shower wasn't low. The shower head was stationary, and not removable, so it makes it a little challenging if you aren't the right height (I was too short and had to stand further back in the tub for the water to hit my head right). All in all, the room isn't bad, it's just outdated a little. This isn't an Embassy Suites, this is a little local lodge in a tourist town on a main scenic highway where you can find clean sheets and towels in a clean room. The cost was just short of $200 for a queen bed room. read more

LISTEN UP!!! STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE. 176.00$ U.S. dollars per night is not a lot of $ for your average motel room .Here you won't get average. No, you will get so much less! Such as the following. In no particular order... I reserved an ADA room [handicap accesable] it was not compliant . The toilet was not ada with grab bars or min. height. A wheel chair could not enter the bathroom let alone turn around as required. The shower was standard tub, again no grab bars or the required hand held shower head. Showering was not a possibility for me. Towel bar was broken lying on the floor ,wall paper peeling. The bath exhaust fan was so loud and vibrated so violently I felt in danger when using it.The bed felt like I was trying to sleep on a pile of cardboard had a dated and creepy vinyl headboard.The thin cheesy bed linnens included an odd polyester comforter with fitted corners , strange! There was no real blanket. No usb ports anywhere . The room phone did not work. The wifi preformed at a glacial pace.There was an unidetified sticky substance on the desk top I had to clean and disinfect. A''PATIO '' that was as tragic as it was laughable was surrounded by a10' high stockade fence, you could only see the fence, concrete or sky! a nice prisony affect, with very noisy pool equiptment on the other side . a completly unusable and absurd space yes, but not a ''patio''. I assume I payed a little extra for it as well . No pad of paper or pen on the desk. The walls and ceilings are paper thin . Guests' dogs barked endlessly and noisy children ran up and down the walkway overhead until after midnight. Not to mention the lighting of illegal fireworks in the parking lot going undetered and ignored by the management. The dogs must have enjoyed them too. Hence the barking with joy. Speaking of management they never did contact me about my ADA room needs that I had expressed to the desk clerk early on. She said she would ''tell the manager'' I guess they just couldn't get thru on the broken room phone and calling me on my cell [#on my pholio] or dropping by my room would have meant someone actually gave a shit about this dump. Be careful with this one. They advertise free breakfast and pool/spa but the hours for these amenities are very limited. Breakfast is 6:30am-8:30am. I tried to get coffee at 8:27am and it was already closed. I then walked over to the "24 hour lobby" as I saw coffee air pots there at check in and that too was closed with a sign for check in call this number. The pool is open from 11am-9pm. If you think you're going to get a quick dip in on check out day you are sadly mistaken as the pool doesn't open until its time to check out. Late check out or early check in is $50. To get spa towels you sign them out and note they are $20 a piece should they not be returned. If you happen to have hairdye discoloration on these towels because of wet hair from the pool you might as well keep them because its cheaper to steal the towels than pay the $95 incidental charge for "pink stains on the towel and pillowcase". Skip the nickel and diming and go with a chain that offers breakfast until 9 or 10 and pool hours from 9-10. I have never ever been charged for vegetable based hair dye stains on a pillowcase or towel at Best Western, La Quinta, Quality Inn, or Ramada. read more

Complementary breakfast till 0930, free wi-Fi, HBO and Keurig coffee maker. The employees are very nice and helpful. We were evacuated due to fires near our home in Windsor and this place was so welcoming and accommodating. We arrived weary and scared and my 3 year old daughter was very confused. However after our first night we were feeling right at home and our daughter wanted to "live"here. The manager Laurie was very patient and understanding of our situation and made sure we felt safe and welcomed. Wonderful place with very clean rooms in a great location. Our safe haven! We always enjoy our stay. 4 stars not 5 because some of the carpets have some bad stains, hard to walk around bare foot when you see them there, not knowing what caused it. This place has taken a downturn since our stay several years ago. Our recent stay: 1. The walls are SO THIN and the other guests were SUPER LOUD both nights. Based on other reviews and experience, it's evident the staff doesn't tend to any of these problems. 2. The room was ok/bed was comfortable, bathroom floor was clean, however the TV was a joke. The TV was an old 24" (?)LG with a crappy picture and the ratio was off. 3. There was inadequate lighting outside which made it not so safe. Thank goodness we had our flashlight to use, even for areas inside the room! 4. Housecleaning never stopped by even just to ask if we needed anything. 5. First day there, we saw a guy with a drink in his hand, lurking around and peeking into the window of the indoor pool. Desire to go swimming there went out the window.... Attn: Management/ Owner(s): Areas for improvement: 1. More outside lighting for safety! 2. It's time to update the rooms with new and bigger screen TVs, at least a 42". 3. Have easy access USB/ electrical outlets by bedside. 4. Tend to the noise problem by coming up with solutions (insulate the walls, inform customers to be respectfully more quiet at night and morning) 5. Improve customer relations and attitude. The mattress in the room we had was the HARDEST MATTRESS I've ever slept on and caused me and my boyfriend to have a miserable night sleep. I found this motel using my google maps but it was listed under a different name so a bit of confusion when we arrived. I called from about 15 - 20 minutes out and was overjoyed that they had a room. The listing said $ so I figured about $150 with the dog like a Super8 but no it was $100 higher but that was fine. We were tired and wanted a room to sleep and there were not a lot of vacancies in Fort Bragg. The owner was extremely accomodating and we got a nice comfortable quiet room. It was clean although I am a COVID freak right now so I did break out the Lysol and the Clorox wipes, the bed was big enough for the two of us and the 70lb dog, the patio was a nice bonus ..again for the dog, the tv was nice although there was no guide to the channels and it was quiet. My dog is jumpy and protective so people talking outside or walking past or slamming doors etc causes him to bark. He didn't so we both slept well. No breakfast or pool because of COVID 19 which we expected and didn't care. They have a fridge, microwave, and Keurig in the room which is nice and he gave us the menu for the little cafe next door when we arrived although we opted for Starbucks down the road. It was a one night stay with friends, we wanted to see the Glass Beach so we decided to drive to Fort Bragg. Cory from the front desk was very friendly and answered the call very nicely. We were staying on the second floor with a distant ocean view, the ocean is very far from the balcony so don't expect too much from the description. The view of the restaurants in front of the lodge are blocking the view. The lodge is very out dated and I do think they really need to slowly renovate some stuff on there, the pool is small and needs to be repainted. No AC in the room where we stayed but there was a very small fan that helped us get through the night as the room gets very warm. Not complaining about my stay or anything, just don't expect too much. It was not a bad stay at all. By the way Glass Beach is 5 mins away from the lodge and there are restaurants in front of it too and near a Safeway so that's kind of a plus either way enjoy your stay and find some good instead of just the bad. read more

This Hotel is okay. It is great if you are looking for a cheap place to sleep while out all day exploring which is nice. On the other hand, it is not the best during the holidays due to the fact that if you want to sleep before midnight or sleep in past 7:30, it is extremely loud. You can hear just about every sound from inside the room. If they give you a room by the pool, ask to change rooms, we regret not speaking up because it was VERY loud. If you have an infant or young child that is on a specific schedule, this is not the place for you. They do have a really good free breakfast which is awesome but it ends at 9:30. Overall for two adults in theirs 20's who don't mind staying up late and want to save money, this is the place you. :) read more

Stayed one night. The room was larger than I expected, there was a fridge (no freezer compartment) and a microwave. The room was clean and didn't have any weird smells. The shower had a curved curtain rod which I really appreciated because it makes you feel much less claustrophobic than the regular straight rods. I was pleasantly surprised by the continental breakfast-- yogurt, hot and cold cereal, muffins, bagels, English muffins, and even a juice machine. My only complaints are minor; our room had a door connecting the room next to us and the door wasn't the most soundproof, and the pillows were slightly uncomfortable. Other than that I enjoyed our stay and will book again on the next trip. read more

There were bugs in the room and the sheets were nasty they charged and extra $200 saying there was gum on the towels and sand on the floor. None of us had gum and we went to the front office to ask for a broom to clean up the sand which we did. I had high hopes for this hotel not what I was expecting. Woke the nice lady on call. She seemed surprised. She gave us our money back. But now we have three people five bags and a service dog with bed bugs. What do we do? Find a hotel? At that hour? Bring the bugs with us? Exterminators were not available at that hour. This was the beginning of our two week road trip vacation. I guess we learned s lesson. My fiance and I have made it a tradition to get out of town for Memorial Day/his birthday weekend. This year the destination was Fort Bragg. Why Fort Bragg? Why not?! :) We didn't arrive until 11 pm, but they knew who I was when I walked up to the window (probably because I called earlier and told them we would be arriving around 11 pm). Very nice guy at the counter. Gave me my keys, and directions to where our room was and we were all set. Our room was bigger than I anticipated. We've stayed in motels where the room is basically just a just a bed with some walls around it and a gross bathroom off to the side. This room had a queen sized bed, a love seat, a table with 2 chairs, a dresser, a microwave, and a mini fridge (and a TV). There was plenty of room to spread out a bit, which was nice. The bathroom had a lot of counter space too, which is important when you bring a ton of toiletries with you when you travel, as I tend to. At one point, I left our hotel keys in the room and had to go to the lobby and get new ones. The lady behind the counter (also named Karen) was very nice and gave me a new set then and there. If I'm ever in Fort Bragg again, I'll be sure to check in at the Seabird Lodge. Their rooms were comfy and their customer service was great! read more

I'd love to give this place more credit, and it's a shame the way the place is built and situated doesn't even come close to the great attitude of the people who work here. Still, it's the quality of the overall experience one has to assess. Sound is a big deal for me. The walls transmit a lot of sound. Conversations at normal volumes are quite audible to me on the 2nd floor from the folks directly below me. There are relatively old school sodium lamps on the sides of the building, and they hum through the wall. The bathroom fan is ridiculously loud and clearly in need of service. The fans of adjoining units are also clearly audible when in use. I've been in a lot of so-called 2-star hotels lately, and they all cost me about what I paid here, and this place is not hitting the mark. For example, all the others had flatscreen LCD TVs, this one is still doing square format CRT TVs. The double-pane windows appear to be about 25 years old (I should know - they're the same kind as in the condo I rent), and are so clouded from broken seals that what ocean view I have can't be appreciated through them. The in-room coffee doesn't even try to rise above - it's Boyd's! A few positives, though ones that don't change my overall perception: they give you free towels for use with their swimming pools and hot tub. The in-room coffee is Illy, which is pretty nice. They offer WiFi, but it's not very consistent from the north most end of their buildings. read more

Our Party of approximately 14 Adults and 19 Children reserved Rooms 5 months prior to our visit. We requested rooms all side by side considering we knew the party would be making noise. We were assured that all of our rooms would be as requested. We showed up for check in, none of our rooms were together, some of our party was Double charged for their rooms, and were then told that we would be kicked out if they have any complaints. The room was decent but it happened to be really warm that day and it does not have AC so thank god there was fan in the room or there was no way I'd be able to sleep. Stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon this week. Staff is courteous, and the breakfast coffee and yogurt and muffins are nice! The rooms were pretty quiet, well maintained, comfortable for us. We got a view of the ocean (not a lot of it because of a big tree and power lines) from our room. Was worth the price. No complaints here. And, it is very centrally located to just about everything, but just far enough out of town that you won't be bothered much by traffic. Not a place for those who are very light or noise sensitive. The curtains don't entirely block out ambient light from outside, and the highway noise is virtually un noticeable. The light would probably be noticeably less if you get a room on the backside of the building. Our room had no air conditioning... just heater. Not sure if that is the case for all rooms or not. But if you open the window it will be plenty cool enough. Highly recommend a stay here. The price is right for the quality! read more

Overall, I can't say anything bad about the place-- we were passing through for a night and it seemed like a nice town. The room had a microwave and fridge, there was no air conditioning but that really did not matter since it was cool outside, you could open a window. It was close enough to walk to the water and watch the sunset. Breakfast was an average hotel breakfast, nothing to fancy, nothing too shabby. Hotel staff was nice and accommodating, each room came with an extra blanket, soap, lotion, and a shampoo/conditioner bottle. This is a great little motel! Our room was clean and comfortable and had a larger mini-fridge for use, which was very handy. The continental breakfast includes homemade muffins made by the owners. (I was partial to the lemon poppy seed!) The motel also allows dogs. We don't have one and I was curious to see if I would detect any dog smell from previous guests but I didn't notice anything. They must do a great job of cleaning because I didn't smell any dog odors in the room. Overall this is a great place to stay for a weekend in Fort Bragg. I highly recommend it. read more

My service dog was welcomed with open arms and treats. Even had her picture for the famed pet wall. Lorie is a lovely, gracious lady. Very hands on for your comforts. The office staff and housekeeping are very nice and helpful to your needs. The homemade muffins are a delight. I love the lemon. Not many places you can get a grapefruit juice in the morning.
