I really liked the shrimp, not too sure how to feel about the fish though. It's pretty bland.

Much needed menu that needed to be added.

What great food at really good prices. May not be fancy but the food speaks for itself.

Also, you cannot go wrong with the mambo fried rice. It's literally the best. To make it extra special put some of that hot habanero sauce on it and man you're talking about you got a great meal. Also, the pricing here is great. Where can you get a meal for lunch for around $10? Such a great value in my opinion. Also, recently they started up a loyalty program, which I think is amazing I come here all the time and I will absolutely take advantage of this. The service is usually really fast too. They'll get you in and out of here in like 15 or 20 minutes. All of their locations are consistently really good. Easy five star review.

The portion was generous, which wins me over. My cappuccino was perfect. Cochinita & Co caught my attention because of owner and chef Victoria Elizondo who was a James Beard semifinalist, Culture Map chef of the year and her restaurant was ranked as one of the top 100 in Houston. The restaurant is located near EaDo and is easy to find. It's in a small strip of businesses so parking can be tight when it's busy. We came with about 30 minutes left for breakfast before they rolled out their lunch menu. There was a few tables of people enjoying their breakfast, but the place got really busy about an hour into lunch. Customer service was great. I needed help making some ordering decisions and the staff steered me in the right direction. I specifically came for breakfast. I started off with an iced Horchata Latte. This drink was excellent. You got all the flavors of a traditional horchata with the cinnamon while still having the coffee flavor present. It was a very well balanced drink. For my entree I went with their popular chilaquiles. They said this is their number one seller for breakfast and I could totally see why. I went with the red chile salsa for the spicy version, but you can also get it with a salsa verde. It comes with black beans, fried egg (you can request a different cook if you desire), crema, queso fresco and green onions. You can add a protein for an additional charge. I added chorizo to mine. Chilaquiles is not something I ever order but I had to try it here. I am so glad I went out of my comfort zone because this dish was amazing. Now I've had bites here and there of chilaquiles but was never blown away, hence me not ordering it. The chips were coated throughout and kept it's crunch through the whole meal. All the components of the dish worked in perfect harmony. I liked mine with the chorizo addition. The egg was nice and runny and I would consider adding another egg next time. It was a generous portion and a heavy meal, but I powered through the whole thing because it was so good. They had a nice display of baked goods and I could not pass up the pretty cinnamon roll. I got the last one and it looked very promising. It ended up being just ok. They served it room temp so it ate very dry. It would have been good if it was heated up and gooey. We ended up wasting most of it. Overall, this visit was long overdue but worth the wait. I'm still thinking about the chilaquiles a week later. I will most definitely be back to check out more of their menu.

She informed me that each cocktail was specially crafted by the "head bartender" and even let me try some samples. I believe at that time, I tried the Loaded Mashed Potato Balls and they were delicious/unique. This time around, I ordered the chicken Alfredo via DoorDash and had it delivered to my job. I can confidently say that my order was freshly made and was still indeed warm when it arrived. The sauce was nice and creamy and paired well with the fettuccine noodles and diced grilled chicken. The portion of the pasta was satisfying and was enough for me to eat about 4 servings from it. The ambiance of the restaurant is very lowkey and chill but nicely decorated and well lit. I would consider this restaurant and specifically this location a hidden gem.

Service: not great, we had a manager start off as our server but she was awkward in a "not socially aware" way (ex. she kept saying our server had to use the bathroom, even when our server came to the the table and looked so embarrassed; she also told me my non-alcoholic drink order would not taste good without knowing it's what I drink at home), rushed us (every time she said she would give us a moment she'd come RIGHT back to the table within seconds) Our actual server started off rocky as well, perhaps wasn't having a good day and she was visibly annoyed with the manager. She was short and blank with us until she realized we're very nice lol and by the end, her tone and energy had completely shifted for the better. The foreign object: about 2/3 of the way through the meal, I bit into a small piece of blue plastic. Did not know if it was in the fish or the mac and cheese, but I was devastated because I was almost finished eating but couldn't due to paranoia. Our server handled it swiftly and the manager came and let us know it was take off the bill and offered free dessert. Overall, not bad and the food was good enough to where I would go back and give them another try in the future.
