If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! I decided to go in for a consultation/strand test besides the fact they have horrible reviews since I thought I would try it out for myself. Worst choice ever!! I went in on Tuesday for my strand test and everything worked great. I then explained to Jon that I am not from Miami but saw his work on social media and loved it, he then told me he had no available appointments but he would squeeze me in for Thursday of that week. I said great, I left a $100 deposit and changed my flight to return home on Friday. Wednesday comes and they send me a confirmation text, I confirm. Thursday (day of appointment) at 9 am I get a text saying my appointment has been cancelled and that the next available is December 2nd! So unprofessional, unprepared, and careless about their customers. Will NOT recommend, Save your time and read other reviews just how I should of since the beginning. **UPDATE: So later in the day of my cancelled appointment Jon (owner) who was supposed to do my hair that day but was in "very critical condition" posted a champagne bottle and celebrating. I went to salon701 for a balayage on a Tuesday, which is when it's on "promo". I was quoted over Instagram and when I got to pay the price was completely something else. Not to mention, when I got to the salon the ladies in the front desk were super rude. I saw all clients with "cappuccinos" in their hands and i was not even offered anything. UNPROFESSIONAL!! coming from an expensive salon! I was Jonathan's third appointment and last client. They put makeups on All previous girls but since I was the last one and they all wanted to leave the salon, They didn't even bother to ask if I wanted to have makeup on, not even questioned. Absurd! I was so excited at first to go to this salon because of all the amazing pictures they would post on Instagram. I got quoted online and when I paid in the end, it was a completely different price than what was agreed upon (paid over $900). I have always invested a lot of money in my hair, but this salon was way overpriced for a less than mediocre job/service. Jonathan the stylist was very rude and very rough with my hair. In the end, you would expect the "stylist" to ask how you liked the results and dismiss you kindly...he never asked or even attempted to do so. I called them asking how much a balayage would cost for my shoulder length hair because I was trying to decide between two salons and the lady on the phone told me to send her a picture of my hair and what I would like done through whatsapp and she will let me know how much it would cost and set an appointment after, I told her okay perfect. So after I send them the picture of my hair and what I wanted I never received a text back! I found it weird so i called them back the next day letting them know that I had called the day before asking for the price for what I wanted and I sent them a picture through whatsapp and the lady hung up on me!! I will like to say how happy I am, I took the time and patience to come and see Jonathan at Salon 701. He is AMAZING!!! I waited to come and re-due my hair for my Birthday and it's honestly the best decision I made. From when you walk in the door, they greet you with a smile, offering water, coffee and making you feel comfortable. I did the capillary surgery and coming back in 6 months to re-do my hair and cut. My friend came with me as well to do balayage and capillary surgery. Amazing job, you paid for excellent service, you won't disappointed. Rip off!!! I ended up paying almost $900 for a balayage and they damaged my hair so much. The manager offered me a hair surgery after seeing the damage, but I guess the girl doing, Donna, wasn't happy about it and pulled my hair so much while doing the treatment. Rip Off. I work in the building and went in for a blow dry. It took close to an hour for medium length hair and then they charged me an extra $10 for a wash as I was checking out. Who charges for a wash - it should be included in the price. I've gone to high end and low end salons in Miami and NYC and they don't line-item and/or nickle & dime like this place. Very professional service and incredible results! The best decision I've made in years for my hair. I was about to cancel my appointment after reading the reviews but the reality is that the bad reviews are of colorists that are not at the salon anymore or because of it's pricey. If you are going to the very experts on hair color in a place on Brickell Avenue you cannot expect to pay what you pay in a cheap salon. I did my research and I was fully aware of the prices and I was prepared for it. I did an investment in recovering the color and the health of my hair and I am totally shocked and amaized with the results. I went to the salon to get some highlights and cut my hair. The web page said they charged 150 por the highlights and 50 dollars for a womens haircut. When I came to the cashier to pay, they charged me 400 dollars for doing my highlights and cutting my hair( I have medium size hair and very few). I have never paid so much money in my life to get my hair done!!! This was ridiculous!! They said that the prices in the website only apply for short hair(extremely short I guess) and that they applied full highlights to my hair and not partial( which they never specified to me while I was getting my hair done). Lesson: the staff here will do anything to charge you an extra couple of bucks and they wont specify anything until it is your time to pay. I would not recommend you to go to this place because you can get similar quality service in brickell for a lot less, but if you are planning to go, make sure you dont trust the prices in the website and ask to the cashier the price they will charge for your type of hair. read more

I normally don't do this, but I must share my horrendous experience. I understand that this salon would be catalogued as a luxury salon and so I was very willing to pay for exactly that. The problem was I was looking for "the best" balayage specialist to turn my hair from black into lighter colors; obviously my goal was to keep my hair healthy. From the start I asked for prices. Initially I was told and it's also stated on the website that the starting price for a balayage is $275, my hair is pretty long. I booked my appointment and traveled from Colombia to get this done. I was told from the beginning that changing black hair to a lighter tone takes time and multiple appointments. I understood and agreed to having multiple treatments to achieve my goal. Throughout the entire booking process they seemed very interested in helping me. Once I got the process done they charged me $765 for the "transformation".... PROBLEM #1: nothing really did happen to my black hair. It went from black to black with lighter strings. I was told that this was normal and that the process needed to be slow and making sure to keep my hair healthy. (Everything they showed on their instagram page with pictures of other customers and their transformation on their first appointment clearly proves otherwise). They explained that during our next encounter things would get better. PROBLEM #2: when I called to book appointment number two to continue with the process they were no longer helpful, I was told I would need to pay again, I asked to speak to Cesar, my hairstylist, to ask him exactly what the next step was and if I needed to pay again even if during the first appointment he didn't achieve anything, and all I got was "he's too busy at the moment". When they finally got tired of me calling I was told that the best they could do for me was to give me a "special price" of $490 to help me and that I would have to walk out of the salon with no blow dry and jeopardize my hair's health and shine by them not applying the OLAPLEX treatment, which according to them is a must when color treating hair. In other words, I would walk out without even knowing what the final result would be. LONG STORY SHORT: This place is an absolute ripoff and to be quite honest, costumer service is not something they take seriously. They are only interested in charging the most money initially and move on to the next customer. I will continue my search for a Salon which is both fair with pricing and excellent in costumer service. Never going back to Salon 701. read more

Excellent experience! Got a groupon for a mani/pedi. My nail artist Maria Jose was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable. I live in Brickell and will definitely be coming back. Bonus:Mon and Tues they offer mani/pedis for $38. Parking in the Bank of America garage is also validated by the salon. read more

I went to the salon to get extensions. When I called, they told me that extensions would cost around $300 for a full head. When I arrived at the salon, I again asked how much they would charge for the extensions. The answer was $300. I went ahead and got the extensions but when I went to pay, the front desk cashier charged me $1200 stating that the hairdresser had to place more extensions than expected. Conclusion: This salon is a scam. They are robbing customers... My recommendation is to stay away and look for a more ethical business. read more

I work in the building and came a few times to get my nails done. The ladies there are very nice. Today I came for a haircut and saw the price was $50. My hair was washed, cut and dried, as is normal when going for a haircut, yet I was charged $120!!! Apparently the wash and dry part is not included in the price of haircut at this place and each part is charged seperately (yet I was never asked if I wanted each part or told I would be charged extra). I spoke to the owner and she dismissed me and said that is how it works everywhere (WRONG). I have been to many high end salons and have never been charged something so outrageous for things that should be included in the price. I dont mind paying more for a good haircut, but I do mind being lied to. read more

They charged for everything... $10 wash, $50 cut, $40 blow dry. Paid $100 for medium to short hair. Was told only $50. Apparently, this an occurring problem.
