They bring so many years of experience and knowledge and will make sure you leave looking and feeling beautiful. I found Sean Rocco by stopping a woman in a store and asking where she got her hair colored! In the 4 years I've lived in Charlotte I've searched for someone who could get my color right. I have finally found Ashley and love my color at long last! The salon is small and has a wonderful 'vibe'. I had a new stylist highlight and cut my hair the week before my wedding and it did not go well, so I asked around and a friend recommended Sean Rocco. Sean totally saved the day. My previous "full head" highlight was inconsistent, not close to the root of my hair, and with my wedding updo, it left me looking really dark underneath. He was able to fit me in for a partial highlight which added color, dimension, and made a more cohesive look. He made more of an impact with a partial than the other stylist with a "full head." He is very intentional and methodical about the placement of foils. The salon had excellent covid safety precautions. Everyone wore masks, they took my temperature upon arrival, and issued a health questionnaire. The lights in the salon are really bright, which helped me to easily see the drastic improvement. I am so grateful for Sean's talents, my hair looked great in all of my wedding pictures. Can't wait to go back. read more

I decided to stop going to my hair stylist of about 10 years after her inconsistency with coloring and poor customer service. I looked online and Sean Rocco caught my attention. Amanda did an amazing job! She was proactive and asked me what I was looking for the day before. I sent her a picture and she did exactly what I wanted if not better! An absolutely appalling incident transpired today. It is difficult for me to calmly discuss this, but I will try my best. I had made an appointment for a cut and color for my elderly mother with Mark. Immediately after she left the salon, the entire perimeter of her face (1/4 inch depth) quickly reddened, and she was progressively in searing pain. She was diagnosed with a chemical burn for which she received emergent topical treatment thereafter at a Novant Health ER. Of note, she has colored her hair for 40 years and has NEVER experienced an adverse reaction of any kind. In a fury, I called the salon and angrily conveyed to the receptionist what had transpired to be communicated to the stylist. I received a voice mail message shortly thereafter properly apologetic in tone, but primarily citing this as an "allergic reaction" and not acknowledging any true culpability. Absolutely disgusting to me personally. I had assumed that responsibility and integrity would prevail, but quite the contrary. Human error is inevitable and forgivable, but deflection is inexcusable. read more

I'd been prepping 6 months for an important Photoshoot & went to the Salon with a photo of what I wanted (my roots touched up & some highlights)& my entire hair history (it had been dyed once over a year ago & darkened once by their salon). I was told this was no problem. Fast forward to dried-out hair out & no highlights looking nothing like my photo so I paid & left. I was very upset & decided to go back to get it fixed. I calmly asked to please fix it but the stylist had a client so someone else started to wash my hair, w/serum telling me it would pull ALL the demi-color out of my hair & turn it red. (They had used permanent on the first 3 inches of hair & demi on the rest.) I asked if this would leave dark 3 inches & then the rest red. She continued until I expressed more concerns sending her to ask the stylist. Sean overheard & came to ask what the problem was. I explained that I was worried about having almost black hair for 3 inches & then having the rest of my hair be bright red. He yelled at me that my hair would have to be either red or dark, it wouldn't do anything else. I know that's not true, so I asked why? He told me it was because it would take a year of monthly visits at $100+ to get highlights the 'right' way (using a 10 developer to prevent damage). As someone from a family of cosmetologists, I know that 10 is used to deposit, not lift color. The fact that they won't use a higher developer was not told to me when I sat down they just told me 'yes' & got started. When I pointed this out to Sean he started yelling "there is 'no way to know what the hair will do, cause we don't know how many times you've been to another salon over the past few months or what was used on your hair". I reminded him his salon was the only one I'd been to in a year & they had a record of the one previous dye type, developer level etc. He got very nasty & blamed me for everything wrong not holding his staff accountable. He demanded he wash my hair using a different product to strip some of the color. As he does, he's pulling my hair & yelling at me about not knowing how hair or dye works & rapid firing questions at me like 'so what exactly did you say, because we need to figure out where you-we had this miscommunication' & 'well you said you didn't want to lighten your hair'. Every time I tried to reply I'd get three words in before he'd cut me off, talk over me, tell me what I was thinking? Misquoting me. My stylist even stepped in to say that I had not said any of it. Sean got angrier. At this point, I was crying because my hair is ruined & I'm being yelled at. We went to blow dry my hair & he barked the names of the two stylists saying 'let's just be civil about this & get past it', even though he's been the only one yelling. He didn't ask about matching the photo, instead he asked them what I said & where I had a 'miscommunicated'. My stylists agreed with me on everything until I pointed out that I asked them NOT to put a dark glaze on my hair because the highlights were dull & I didn't want it even darker. The two stylists had been talking when it was suggested & I said 'no, just leave it like it is, I don't want it darker.' The stylist apologized for not hearing me, but Sean started screaming that I had lied to he & the stylist then kept repeating I was a liar & didn't know what I wanted. He had been brushing out my hair harshly & painfully. The stylist noticed, said she'll brush my hair, but he refused, saying he can handle it & continued pulling out my hair. He kept 'you need to come every month for a year' & I told him through my sobbing that my job (Acting) does not allow for hair changes because you have to match you photo identically. If you add a highlight or cut 2inches off, your photos have to be updated to match (industry standard photos are over $600). I knew many TV actors who got their hair done in one sitting. He then begins to scream about how my own industry works, stating that he 'used to be a Hollywood actor' & I could dye my hair another color & cut it a few minutes before an audition & they wouldn't care. He'd done it before (he just said you can't dye/bleach your hair in one sitting w/o being ruined) I explained this will get you a bad reputation in the industry & I'd been yelled at for not matching my headshots, he rolled his eyes & kept screaming about being right. He ranted another few minutes then told me he'd see me in there again to lighten my hair over the course of a few months. This process took 5 hours, my hair is nothing like what I asked for, I was screamed at, had my hair pulled out & was put down endlessly. The stylist apologized for his behavior but it's his job to be professional, not the stylists. I tried to tip my stylist for putting up with him & I felt bad because I was crying the whole time but she said she couldn't take it. They refunded the service, but my hair is ruined & my headshots are as well. I will never go back. read more

I'm fairly new to NC and had tried two other salons .....my hair was looking progressively worse. Found this salon via Yelp, and glad I did, Sean was great, I got a really nice cut and we are in process of correcting my bangs that were jacked up from last two stylists. I am also trying to stop coloring and so he was able to add just a little to help even out my new growth with the rest. Definitely will be returning to see him. The salon is a little pricey, but given the area that isn't surprising, and they do a great job so it is worth it. read more

Ashley is Amazing!!! I drive all the way from Columbia to see her to do my hair. She is on point with her color and in making sure that the cut is easy for me to maintain in my hectic life. Great conversation and timeliness. I wouldn't let anyone else do my hair. In fact after my son was born it was almost a year before I was able to get back to her to do it.
