As a matter of fact, he filed down existing teeth to make his work FIT???? He wore one tooth down so badly, he actually had to replace his own crown. I was torn to report him, as Dr. Brodie always went out of his way to help me. I should've documented every visit and regret not leaving him sooner. The phone message, when I tried to contact them, always said that they are trying to catch up with messages, and will get back to people eventually, even if delayed due to covid. However, despite for calling for several months, asking for a phone call back, then just asking them to notify me if they cannot have me, I will look for another dentist, then eventually I called several times, begging for my records. NEVER got a call, nothing. I even thought they may have closed down, or perhaps Dr. Brodie is no longer practicing. But the business appears still open, so I am not sure why I was ghosted. In any case, that is very poor customer service and unexplainable treatment of a loyal patient.

Dr. Jeffrey Harrison and Dr. Suzanne Gendel have both worked on my teeth (and addressed my fairly complex dental problems), and I have greatly benefitted from their expert care and deep and broad knowledge of their field. I've had everything from simple fillings to crowns to extractions and implants (implant surgery is performed by Dr. Harrison, who heads the practice), and I trust them and their chairside staff completely. They explain everything--including all my options--and do so in layman's terms and with patience, welcoming all my questions and addressing my concerns, including about costs. I've never once felt that I was simply another patient in their large and successful practice; I'm always welcomed (by name) and treated as though I were the only patient they were seeing that day. On top of all that, both these dentists are extremely conscious of my comfort level when in their chair, and I have never once felt any pain as they worked on my teeth. Even the (lengthy) implant process was surprisingly pain-free and easy. Dr. Harrison and Dr. Gendel also give very specific instructions following any procedure more complicated than a filling, and their kind, courteous, and well-informed office staff call me the next day to see how I'm doing. Believe it or not, I actually look forward to going to the dentist now that I've found this practice. I highly recommend this practice and never hesitate to tell friends about it. These are without a doubt the best dentists I've ever had--and I've had MANY over my seven decades of life!

Review I am so sorry…read morethat I ever set foot in this dentist office. Dr. Chui told me that I had 12 cavities and periodontal disease, which was eroding my jawbone. She filled seven cavities and told me that I would need a special treatment that costs $200 per tooth and wasn't covered by insurance for the other five. I didn't go back, and when I went to another dentist three months later, they showed me all of my x-rays and went tooth by tooth to show me that I had no cavities (much less five), and showed me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my gums or jawbone. I can't believe I let this person do anything in my mouth, much less fill seven cavities. What's more, in my original visit she didn't actually do a cleaning, just tell me how many cavities they had to fill. If Dr. Chui tells you that Need any advanced dental procedure beyond a regular cleaning, get a second opinion!

Cleanings have been fine, staff has been fine, Dr. S. always pleasant and friendly. Heck I did a gum graft that I needed and that has been swell (oh and redoing a root canal). I have taken no issue with the quality of the work that has been performed. That said, I do caution (potential) patients of upsell and/or unnecessary procedures. I felt like there was advice to do work that was not yet necessary or more elaborate then a less expensive alternative, especially early-on as a patient. A few weeks ago one of my bridges came out. I called in the evening, the doctor called me back that night which is great, and they fit me in the next day to temporarily cement it back in. The dentist looked at my teeth and said I need an implant a sinus lift and of course crowns for the adjacent teeth. He sent me to the front to get the quote and schedule the appointment. The quote was $26,095.00. Yes, $26,095.00. I asked if this included any insurance and I got a simple "your insurance won't cover this." (And it cost $450 to temporarily recement it.) Did I mention that I have four of these bridges that are all the same age? That's $104,380.00 if I play this scenario out. One hundred thousand dollars...100 large... one year at Harvard (w/o financial aid)... 1.4x average annual US salary... ~3 years of child care...a lifetime supply of Chicken Nuggets (that one's a guess). For a handful of teeth. So I presented the issue to two other dentists - one I had seen previously and one I had not. After looking at x-rays and the bridge, both agreed that simply recementing the existing bridge was plenty reasonable. The bridge is in excellent condition and the teeth underneath were as well. I could redo the bridge for maybe $2-4k to eliminate a little gap between the bridge and the gum - but neither of them thought it was critical. Today I had the new dentist recement it back in. They polished off the old cement and put it back in. $419 if my insurance doesn't cover any of it. The option I was presented with was 62x more expensive then a perfectly reasonable and practical alternative. Again, I have not had an issue with the quality of work provided here. However, if you get an expensive treatment plan from them, then it might simply be the best treatment that is available today. Does that mean it's the only treatment option? No.

He assessed that he couldn't do the root canal bc the crack in my tooth was too deep, so they got me an appt immediately with an oral surgeon. All through the process they were always putting my needs first. My experience overall with Excel (who I've been seeing since 2012) has been similar -- they genuinely care and they never try to sell you on procedures you don't really need like some other dentists I've been to, and don't try to run up the bill with unnecessary procedures. Also the receptionist is amazing -- she was the one who got things moved around so I could be seen quickly, and she even called after the tooth extraction to see how I was doing. Their website has incorrect opening hours. Not sure when they're open. I went there to make sure it's not a basement like the last place I went to.
