Review I am so sorry that I ever set foot in this dentist office. Dr. Chui told me that I had 12 cavities and periodontal disease, which was eroding my jawbone. She filled seven cavities and told me that I would need a special treatment that costs $200 per tooth and wasn't covered by insurance for the other five. I didn't go back, and when I went to another dentist three months later, they showed me all of my x-rays and went tooth by tooth to show me that I had no cavities (much less five), and showed me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my gums or jawbone. I can't believe I let this person do anything in my mouth, much less fill seven cavities. What's more, in my original visit she didn't actually do a cleaning, just tell me how many cavities they had to fill. If Dr. Chui tells you that Need any advanced dental procedure beyond a regular cleaning, get a second opinion! read more

I have recently started to see Dr. Po Po Chui and have only wonderful things to say. I saw her for a cleaning a few months ago and she was able to catch a major gum infection I have since been dealing with and addressing. I also saw her for a routine cavity filling and it was the best filling experience I have ever had. I do not like going to the dentist as I needed a lot of dental work done as a child and get very anxious. Dr. Po Po Chui was extremely efficient and comforting. The entire filling was done in under 30 minutes with very little discomfort or anxiety. The way she massaged my gum while injecting the novocaine made it so that I barely felt it which I was so pleased with. During the process she and her technician continuously checked in and before I knew it it was completely done! I have been seeing Dr. Chui since 2017. Dr. Chui and her team are very friendly and professional. They always try to accommodate my busy school and work schedule. I go there mostly Saturday mornings or during weekdays after 5pm back then. Now, their business hours have changed due to COVID-19 but they still do their best to accommodate my schedule. It's very helpful that they always send email reminders and phone calls to confirm the day before the appointments. Dr. Chui is always educating about the importance of dental health and how it can affect my general health. She is knowledgeable, very approachable and I feel comfortable to ask questions. read more

I've been to her office 3 times in the past month and every time she and her staff have been so kind to me, guiding me through forms and my options. I got a tooth extraction and cavity filling on 2 separate occasions within 1 month and I am coming back next week for another cavity filling. Every time I come into the suite, I feel welcomed by Joyce at the front desk and cared for by Lindita who assists Dr. Chui during my procedures. I've gotten my regular cleanings with Dr. Chui since 2011. One of the reviews above said she has an "aggressive strategy" of treating everything that could turn into a cavity. Over these past 6 years of great dental care and regular teeth cleanings, Dr. Chui has never once found a cavity so I don't believe this "aggressive strategy" could be true. I highly recommend Dr Chui and today have brought my friend in need of a dentist to Dr. Chui. I finally got my cleaning done after a few years without it six months back. The doctor was great, staying objective about the condition of my teeth while educating me some cheap and easy ways to keep my gums from receding any more than they should have. Fast forward to today and I got my second cleaning done. She was consistently careful and cautious while cleaning my teeth. Not only was the cleaning experience almost painless, I was pleasantly surprised with my gums getting back to normal numbers after just one appointment! I was referred by my periodontist to Dr. Chui to fix some prior fillings that are uneven. Office staff was very nice and prompt in their service. Dr. Chui is very sweet and did a great job on these filling fixings. Correcting the edges has already decreased the times food get stuck in between these teeth, which I'm very happy about. Would definitely consider switching my general dental care as well. Also couple little things that I thought were cute. Usually all the equipment paper, and the bib they have you wear are always the same old blue. This office had fun purples ones, I dig that. And while it's obviously computer generated and automatic, I got a happy birthday email from the office and thought it was quite thoughtful of them to do that. read more

I had a great cleaning at Dr. Chui's office this week. They were great over the phone booking the appointment and getting me set up as a new patient, the waiting room was clean and comfy when I arrived, and hygienist Caitlin was so friendly and took time to explain things to me as she was doing them! The atmosphere was really comfortable and laid back which I liked, I've never experienced a dentist like that. The exam was really thorough and they seemed to check things and debrief me on things that I've never been aware of. It's also super easy to get to right on Beacon St at the St. Mary's T stop! Just had a cleaning and X-Rays here today! The hygienist was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. She did a very thorough cleaning job and left me feeling shiny and new! The dentist, Dr. Chui, is also very sweet and takes her time checking your teeth and the X-rays after the cleaning. The receptionist, Melinda, is extremely nice and very welcoming. You also get a goody bag when you leave! Hands down one of the best dentist offices I've been to with one of the friendliest staff. I made a last minute appointment on Monday and they saw me later that evening. I was a new patient and immediately felt welcomed when I walked into their office. After some quick paperwork I was seen for a consultation and x-rays (which was part of their new patient $99 cleaning). Turns out I needed an upper wisdom tooth extraction (not impacted) which was causing my pain. Dr. Chui did the removal right then and there with local anesthetic at a reasonable price. I really appreciated how she took her time even though that meant she and her staff had to stay overtime! I can tell that she truly cares for her patients, and she obviously did a great job because it's been almost a day later and I have no pain at all. I highly recommend this place to anyone! I am so happy with the service I received from Dr. Chui and her staff! I was experiencing some pain on the left side of my mouth and was worried if a filling had cracked or something was wrong with the nerve. When I went in, Dr. Chui carefully examined my mouth and suggested a deep cleaning because of the pocketing I was beginning to have. She offered to do one quadrant that day and another day for the rest to see if that would fix my problem. After the swelling went down, I felt much more relieved and the pain slowly went away. At the end of the week, I went back for the second procedure to do the rest. She made sure I was comfortable and always asked how I was doing. She did a great job and was also very fast. I went to this office in 2015. I agree with Jen S who posted below. I have never had such a painful cleaning - when they told me to rinse out my mouth, clots of blood came out. My gums continued to bleed for several days. I do not know the name of dental hygienist. Unfortunately, the experience did not improve. I was told I had 6 cavities that needed to be filled. However, I had been in regular dental care and figured that seemed very unlikely. I got a second and third opinion, and both dentists thought that I had 2 cavities that needed filling. It seems like this office wanted to fill any minor defect that could become a cavity, rather than being conservative and only filling those that really needed filling. I did not return to this office. Update 2016: I am glad to hear that the office has gotten a new hygienist, which is great. As someone else mentioned in their review, they do seem to have an aggressive treatment strategy compared to other dentists. read more
