Customer service and scheduling is terrible. It is impossible to speak with a person about scheduling. They gave 11 hour "appointment" windows, cancelled with little notice after I arranged to be home from work, and then gave 10-minutes' notice before arriving. The technician mis-diagnosed the rattling noise that the dryer is making, likely because I was not given the opportunity to be home from work to communicate with the technician. instead, my wife was home, who is less familiar with the troubleshooting already-performed. Now I have to start from square-one to initiate a new ticket for a warranty repair with the manufacturer. I'm sure this is NOT the technician's fault, but rather, the result of Sears' impersonal scheduling platform and lack of regard for their customers' time. read more

The service technician was very professional with the two visits. Sadly the refrigerator is not fixed. It is still broken. I had to buy a dorm fridge as a work around. This isn't the technician's fault. The Sears system and phone support was useless. I couldn't get the additional parts needed to finish the job sent to the correct address. I called once a week and every time they said someone would contact me. They never did. I gave up and told the technician to close the ticket. The money spent for Sears extended warranty service was a waste of money. Stay away..far away from them. Do an internet search and you'll find there are over a 1000 similar complaints. This is why Sears will even lose this business like their retail stores to the competition. Order was placed with Choice Home Repair on 12-18-23. Sears Appliance Repair which setup the repair appointment within two days. Parts were ordered and shipped to our home address. This is standard procedure for all repair services. We were told that the parts are a problem to get and that we should get the parts mid-Janurary of 2024. The only area of improvement that I suggest is that a better communication would have been appreciated so we would have known when the parts were shipped and if the parts were in one or two boxes. We received one box on 1-05-2024. I called to let Sears know that the parts were delivered. I received an email confirmation that a repair appointment was scheduled for 1-16-2024. I am very disappointed in Sears repair! I have had issues with my refrigerator almost since day one!!! I have had to call out the service repair guys about 25 times over a 2-3 year period! This refrigerator should have been replaced a long time ago, but instead they keep inconveniencing me with the burden of scheduling a service, waiting for parts and having to be available for the scheduled service in a large block of around 4 hours of time...or more! The contract clearly states that a product will be replaced after a certain amount of service calls... I a giving the rating of 3 only because all the technicians that have come, with the exception of maybe 1, have been EXCELLENT!! The service men are Great, but sears does not hold up its end of the contract details... I will NEVER buy another Samsung Appliance or add the Sears Repair Insurance again! I'm extremely unhappy with Sears Home Repair!!!! On Wednesday, December 9th, my dryer stopped working. I requested a repairman to come to my home to fix it. He diagnosed the problem but didn't repair my dryer because it cost a LOT more than I expected. It was going to cost $293 and I didn't have that much money in my account to pay him. So I paid him $107 for the diagnosis and he told me that amount would be taken out of the $293 when someone came to repair my dryer. I scheduled an appointment for a repairman to come to my home on Friday, December 11th. He replaced the dryer thermal fuse. It didn't take him 10 minutes to replace it and he still charged me $293. I told him that I didn't think it was going to be that expensive but I paid it anyway. I was only able to get 1 load of laundry dried and then it stopped working again. So I had to schedule yet another repairman to come to my home on Monday, December 14th. I drove an hour to my mom's house to do some of my laundry over the weekend because I didn't have enough clean clothes and I still couldn't dry my clothes. The same repairman that came to my home on Friday came to my home on Monday. This time, he replaced the heater element. After he left, I started washing a load of laundry. I work nights, so I sleep during the day, so I fell asleep. Later when I was getting ready for work, I started drying those clothes and there was no heat at all in my dryer, so my clothes weren't getting dried at all. I've wasted $475 on these repairs for my dryer and it still doesn't work. I could've bought a brand new dryer for this amount. Instead of wasting more money to not get my dryer fixed, I have decided that I'm going to buy a new dryer. I still desperately need to do laundry but I'm unable to because no one can manage to fix my dryer. I have to say that after this, I'm not surprised that Sears went out of business. This has been extremely stressful and frustrating for me!!!! Especially wasting $475 and having my dryer still not work. I can't afford to continue wasting money on repairs that won't actually fix my dryer. And the cost for the labor to fix my dryer is unreal!!!!! $259.02 for 10 minutes to replace a part and my dryer worked long enough to dry one load of laundry. That's outrageous!!!!!!! And most certainly not worth it!!!!! Don't waste your time or especially your money with Sears Home Repair. Just buy a new appliance!!!!! It'll be cheaper and less stressful in the long run!!!!! read more

I had to have my Kenmore window unit AC worked on twice this year. The first time, they scheduled a technician out right away. The compressor was running although the fan was not. He had to order a board and wait for it to come in. Worked great. Then a few weeks later, the AC started laboring and putting out a lot of heat on the outside and was tripping my breaker. Called for repairs again and the person who took the call was telling me to call an electrician saying my fuse was getting weak and she was going to put that on the work ticket for the technician. (??) Anyway we had to wait a week and a half for a technician to come out this time during a very HOT week. The technician was very good and did the troubleshooting and it was the condenser was dirty so he cleaned it up, put it back together and it runs great again and no more tripping the breaker. read more

The money you pay for the extended warranty is wasted, unless you like waiting a month to have it fixed. Sears may sell quality products but the warranty is a joke. We would have had it done cheaper and sooner if we had not said yes to extended warranty!!! read more
