I will communicate with the consumer complaint department in Oregon and try to understand how this price is reasonable. The explanation by Taylor was inadequate to explain the cost. He even said I could order the part and do it myself in a half hour. Then I got on line to order the part and the number he gave me doesn't even show up in parts! We have scheduled twice to have service performed on our Kenmore dryer. Both times we were home all day and both times no one came to look at the dryer, even though it was confirmed 3 times in the previous week. The automated online scheduling has been rescheduled for a third visit on October 11th (all day) without our consent. When I attempt to cancel, the pop-up states that I need to call in to cancel. When I called in, the message said I can cancel online. I logged in online again, and the message stated "Your service has been canceled and your technician notified." (GOOD) We wasted two days waiting for Sears Home Services to show up. The lack of service or communication (Inability to contact a human being) is unacceptable. read more

My technician who repaired by dishwasher was great! He was on time and communicated well what the issues was, how much it would cost and what the repair would look like. He came out initially March 3 to perform the diagnostic. He ordered the part the same day while still at the house. I paid IN FULL at the time the part was ordered and the return trip for repair was scheduled, the following day March 4 8a-12p. I was contacted at 10a on March 4 that there was an issue with the part arriving and we needed to reschedule. Next available appointment was March 7 8a - 12p, so I reluctantly rescheduled. I received a cancelation TEXT at 10:46am stating there was an issue and I would need to reschedule. I tried for HOURS to reach a live person to talk to. Every number I called (and I tried about a dozen different #'s I found on-line) was automated. I was getting texts every time I tried calling and entering my information. I was finally able to get a live person, they apologized, and said they would escalate my concern and I would get a call back. By mid-afternoon, I reluctantly rescheduled AGAIN, not wanting to miss out on an available appointment Monday 3/10. Repair was completed this morning, thankfully. Again, to re-iterate, my technician was GREAT! The Customer Service provided by Sears Home Service was TERRIBLE!! read more

Trash....Sears is nothing be trash! run don't walk. Services is slow, they will scam you and do everything they can to cover it up.

Service was to repair compactor that would not shut down on up. They sent the wrong motor and it would not work. Before the old one worked half way and now not at all because the old motor removed and gone. Now I have nothing that works and proper motor not ordered. Service man said he was going to refund which does't solve the problem. There must be a proper motor for a new model of this product which should work. Over a month ago, a tech came out to repair the dryer. He needed to order parts for the electrical panel (a fuse and the board). The parts arrived, 2 weeks later, but no service tech showed at scheduled time. I had to reschedule and wait another 2 weeks. The tech that arrived yesterday, tried blame us, because the breaker was off ( previous tech turned it off and no reason to turn it back on). He then looked at the parts that arrived. One was the outer panel of the control board, not the electronics and a washer part. My wife was questioned on why those parts were ordered...we didn't order them. The tech indicated that the fuse was the only thing that needed to be replaced, which was different than we were previously told, replaced it. He then indicated that the panel needed to be cleaned, but wouldn't do it because 'that's a different service. ' Even though he had the electrical board open and it would have been done quickly. The dryer works, but we are not confident that it will work for very long. 6 months ago when we started having appliance issues, the sub-contracted techs that came out were better service providers than the Sears techs. I am not sure if the relationship changed, but we are considering ending our service agreement with Sears Home Warranty and using other repair services. Cinch and SHW are proving to not be a good value. read more

Actually I'm retracting my 5 star review from May 23. The technician did communicate regarding when he was arriving. After one load of wash everything seemed to be working. However, after the second load and so on, the washer is still not dispensing the soap and my clothes are not getting clean. When I called to reschedule I was told I would have to wait another 2 weeks!!!! In the meantime I cannot use the washer - this is totally unacceptable! read more

Waited over a month for my home washing machine repair appointment. The day finally arrived and was told that James the repairman will be coming to my house between 8am and 5pm. I waited all day but no one showed up. At 5:30pm, I get a text that my appointment has been rescheduled for yet another month out!!!!! Apparently Sears had scheduled several appointments for this repair guy for today and he couldn't possibly get to all those appointments in one day. Total BS! Can't believe it! We had called Sears because our refrigerator freezer had quit working.. We were anxious with the technician to arrive. Gary, our technician called at 8:15 this morning. Wouldn't you know it I was out with the dog so I missed the call. I promptly returned Gary's call but it went to voicemail. Gary must have gone onto another customer as I did not get a return call from my call to his voicemail. I was still waiting for a call which I had anticipated receiving about what was wrong with our refrigerators so that the technician could have the correct parts on his truck so that he could make a repair and not have to return. That never came but I did get a call from Gary telling us he was on his way. He arrived in promptly, took our refrigerator refrigerator, freezer and diagnosed it was the compressor. He gave us a bid of the parts and labor that the cost would be to repair the unit. We asked him to go ahead which he did, he had the compressor on his truck hooray that was music to our ears. He probably brought in the compressor and necessary tools to do our repair. He was very helpful in explaining what he was going to do and approximately the time it would take. Upon completion, Gary explained to us what was necessary to make sure the compressor in fact was a good compressor. Apparently there is no way to test compressor to see if it is going to work in your unit until it is placed there and time to give it to freeze and cool your refrigerator. He explained how that could be achieved by placing a bottled water in the freezer area and waiting until tomorrow to see if in fact, it had made a bottle of water freeze. We are now waiting anxiously to see if all of Gary's efforts and the compressors ability will make our unit work again. Fingers crossed. thank you Gary for work today it was a pleasure. read more
