A&E/Sears made 7 appointments from 8 to 5 to fix my freezer. 3 of these calls they just didn't show up even after confirming the appointment with a text message; 1 call was a no-show from the technician who said I was too far for him to come and he will just order the parts that i need. the technician who did show up, said he knew what was wrong without doing any diagnosis and ordered parts. In and out in 5 minutes. The next came, installed the parts and left without verifying that the problem was fixed. They have replaced any humans on the phone with a poor AI and you cant get anything resolved. 7 days of missing work to not get my freezer fixed. On Thursday 01-29-25, I had an appointment due to a bad smell coming from inside the washing machine as per my tenants, which I have an extended warranty on it through Sears. The sears technician that arrived, his name was Alexander. The tenants explained to him the issue and he recommended put the tablets he suggested into the washing machine and run it through cycles. They did this many times through the weeks and smell still was there. I set up another appointment and the date was Thurs 04-17-25 and the same Sears technician Alexander showed. The tenants explained to him the smell is still there. I also spoke to him via speaker phone and asked him if he can check out the drum and drain lines to make sure nothing is clogged and he refused. He stated to us it's a house plumbing issue which is totally false. He told me to call warranty dept and send another technician out. He then proceeds to leave the house without going to the next step to see what the issue can be. Whats the sense having an extended warranty when the technician doesn't want to do his job. This is very an unprofessional technician and Sears should train him how to be more professional. I had to give him 1 star because it wouldn't allow me to give him 0 Yes. They will have to reschedule. He orders the parts. An appointment is made. They cancel. Another appointment is made, one repairman arrives. He was not aware that it was a two man job. He tried to get other workers but none were available. I took the day off today to wait for the repair. They want to reschedule for tomorrow. I can't take another day off. Would like to share on how inconsiderate and rude this service tech was. First and foremost, customer service on this guy was a negative 100. I understand there was some system issues on how this service call was handled. But there was no help from this guy. First he thought I hung up on him, all because my cellphone lost signal. So he assumed so rudely I hung up on him. Even though I called back and apologize for my cell service. Then insisted on I had no contract, even though I had one. I am blown away on how it says he has a 5 star rating. That is a LIE! Two weeks prior to this, I had another Sears service man came to the house and repaired the washer. NO complaints there. HORRIBLE COMPANY! They don't even deserved that one star. I called them in to fix my leaking refrigerator. They sent a repairman a week after I called them. He came in, adjusted the legs so that my refrigerator is on a slight tilt and assured me that my problem is fixed. Well, it DIDN'T WORK. I called them back to tell them that my refrigerator wasn't repaired and is still leaking and so that they could send someone over again, but to my surprise, they said, "SORRY, WE DON'T HAVE ANY AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE." Sears Home Warranty and Appliance Repair is to be avoided. Dishonest, rude and incompetent. Over the course of 3 years we paid over 2100 dollars in warranty premiums and another 600 dollars in service call deductibles with over 18 service calls with one technician after another coming to work on our refrigerator - a Kitchenaid 48" counter depth model. They finally decided that the unit was simply not fixable - too many things going wrong that they could not figure out, and offered us a 1000.00 replacement allowance. The refrigerator retails for 10,500.00 and they offered us less than 10% of that as a replacement allowance. We paid over twice that amount in warranty premiums. Throughout this process attempts to talk to ANYONE in management to try and get this ridiculous situation addressed were futile. Can't tell you how many times we were hung up on, or openly lied to by their telephone support people. To add insult to injury, the last technician who was here broke something while putting the fridge back - cracked the plastic water line to the ice maker and it slow leaked over night, all over our hardwood floor and we woke up to a flood in the kitchen, the flood damaged the hardwood floor, a 3'x10' area where all the boards are "cupping" and leaked through the floor to the ceiling below. So now not only do I STILL have a fridge that doesn't work - now I've got thousands of dollars in floor and ceiling repairs to deal with - and Sears Home Warranty says they have no responsibility, to take it up with the "independent contractor" that they sent to our home to do the repair. Sears Home Warranty should be ashamed of themselves as should "Cross Country" who have taken over many of their accounts. In any case, these businesses should be avoided at all cost read more

Technician came a week after washer broke and he didn't fix the problem. I called back and was told he would be back a week later. That was today and the technician never showed up and put in his report that we requested a different technician (which never happened). I called several times and now I'm having to wait over 2 weeks to have someone come out again (probably the same guy). I asked to speak to a supervisor and was hung up on several times. Customer service really sucks and so do their policies. This guy should be written up or let go for not doing his job and lying about it and these reps should have options for a repeat customer with the same issue within a small time frame. This has been the worst repair experience I have ever encountered. Do not use this service and look elsewhere, you have been warned. Our fridge was leaking from the back, and the technician claimed that it was caused by a faulty connector that the previous technician had used to repair the tubing. The technician was adamant about not replacing the tube (which has broken 3 times now) and that I could get the connector myself to "save so much money". The technician said he would only charge me the $99 visit fee and not the cost of a repair for this great advice, opened a signature window on his phone without showing any dollar amount, had me sign, and then clipped off the ends of the tube on the fridge and left it disassembled, unconnected, and pulled out from the wall. When I went back to examine the connector, I realized that the technician had pulled it off the tubing incorrectly, yanking it so hard causing the tube to break inside the connector, making the connector inoperable. After pushing out the broken tube inside the connector, the connector worked perfectly. The technician had clipped the tube ends to hide his mistake. To make matters worse, the technician's rough treatment has left the refrigerator with almost no water pressure, a worse issue than the leak before. Finally, when I received the receipt email I saw that the technician had charged me for a repair of $129 dollars despite doing nothing, giving bad advice, lying, and leaving everything disassembled when he left. In retrospect I realized that the technician had purposely concealed the true amount he was charging me by scrolling his phone display down to the signature box so he could lie and say that it was $99. This experience has left me completely frustrated, customer service is incredibly hard to find and will not contact me back to refund me. Stay away from this service like the plague; do not be a victim. read more

I used Sears to repair my ice machine..worst experience ever....the tech did not properly diagnose the problem....without even looking at the ice machine insisted the ice maker needs to be replaced quoted me over $400 for the repair which i later found out was double what my local repair company charges...they then offered me a warranty plan which would make the ice make repair less money. well i took the warranty and the new machine.....no ice 24 hours later...call service no one speaks english clearly ...they offer to send someone else out....i take another day off from work because they don't work weekends or evenings and the new guy was nasty and says the first guy installed the wrong part....when i questioned him he got even nastier so i made him leave my house....had a new company in not only was the sears part the wrong part, it was damaged and installed incorrectly...i now am disputing the repair cost and the warranty with my credit card company....they can have their ice maker back too...i got another one from another company for half the price. what a bunch of unprofessional people....never again... stay far away from Sears...no wonder they are in financial trouble. read more
