Seafire Grill in New Port Richey, was a nice lunch stop for my wife and me on Saturday. The interior is elegant, with views of a small harbor, and on past visits we've even seen dolphins. It's a large space with a modern bar, booths along the windows, tables scattered throughout, and two event rooms on either end of the main dining room. Sara greeted us promptly, as usual with a smile, and was attentive without hovering. I had a Buffalo Trace Manhattan, she had an Angry Orchard, and my small glass came with enough ice to keep it in the freezer for the next shift. I had the blackened shrimp tacos. Tasty, with a little tang, but this is where the pricing starts to raise an eyebrow. They were $17 for 2, and most other places give you 3 for $16 or less, usually with sides too. She had the steak quesadilla at $18, which also felt a little steep. Most others are $14 or less. Still, she enjoyed it, so there's that. For once, there was no 3% credit card upcharge, but at these prices, you have to figure it's already built in somewhere. The food was good overall, though I think the meal came in about $10 high. I also hear the place is for sale. Good food, service, ambiance, and view. All pretty common on the Gulf of America -- which is kind of the point, I guess. They've got a few easy, not-too-expensive fixes, so I'll leave it to you to be the judge. read more

We celebrated our friend's 93rd birthday here May 3. We sat upstairs in the main dining area, with a view of the water outside. It was easily accessible by the birthday girl who was using her walker. Service was wonderful! Sarah was prompt with bringing our drinks after we ordered them, and keeping those drinks full. She brought us our food orders as soon as they were ready. Everything was at the proper temperature and delicious. Our party ordered salmon, fried shrimp, fish & chips and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Our meals were filling, and what we couldn't eat came home with us! We are definitely returning for the fried shrimp!! We brought cake which Sarah expertly delivered to the table once we were done with dinner. Only one candle was not lit when she placed it in front of the birthday girl. But that was okay! I will have to say this restaurant is underwhelming! For a seafood restaurant on the water it was very disappointing. To start off with it took 15 minutes for somebody to even offer us water and the dining room was not even 1/4 full. The waitress was nice enough not very attentive though. Now let's talk about the food. There was not much value for your money. They should be drawn and quartered for calling what they call the Cioppino a cioppino. I've had some of the best cioppino in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the Oregon coast. What this place called a cioppino was more like tomato soup with some seafood thrown into it. The fish was overcooked so were the shrimp . I could have thrown them off the table and they would have bounced across the room. It was so bad I had to send it back for a refire. My fiance had the seafood pasta the scallops were undercooked and the shrimp were rubber. Needless to say the food was not worth what we paid for. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It doesn't really wow anyone from the outside. But the inside is quite nice and has good views of the water. The server was friendly and attentive, making for a good meal experience. The food itself was decent as well. I got the Fried Grouper Sandwich and they did not skimp on the grouper filet. Nice meaty portion that was quite tender. I did wish the batter was a little thinner. There was just a little too much batter in my opinion, and kinda takes away from an otherwise good fish sandwich. Service was so fast and so nice! Food came out so quickly and was cooked very well. The grouper was so meaty and fresh and the calamari with the peppers was so tender and tasty. The restaurant inside is VERY cold (the only downside). We did go there early in the afternoon and there weren't many others there, so I'm sure it's warmer when it's busier. I would definitely bring a sweater or sit outside next time. And the yellow rice that came with the fish was okay - a large portion, very slightly undercooked, but no flavor (more of a detractor). I first have to give a huge shoutout to the two servers that worked this private event of 22. The servers were extremely attentive, orders correct and quick to respond to needs and inquiries. The appetizers that came out got cold very quickly due to the fan in the room. We asked them to turn it off before dinner. This was done quickly. All of the meals came out fairly close to each other which was great! My spinach salad was good and added chicken was how I asked for. The second entree was a smash burger. The top bun was so hard. This restaurant has so much to offer. The food is yummy and the atmosphere is amazing. There are different levels. Upstairs you can have a nice dinner with a view of the marina. On the bottom floor it is a different atmosphere. You have a chill bar and plenty of games like pool, corn hole and table shuffle board. If you need a place for a party check this place out. They have two private rooms. We chose the room with the bar and plenty of TV's and a small stage. Josh and his team were super attentive. A lovely place! We were in town visiting my in-laws and decided to come here when looking for a place for lunch. It was a Sunday somewhere between 3 and 4 pm, and we were able to be seated right away. It was windy and rainy, and we sat at a table right by the window to see the boats docked on the water. Our server was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I wasn't feeling too great, so I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, but I wanted some seafood really bad as so many things looked good on the menu. My husband ordered the seafood mac and cheese, and I did try those leftovers later, and chef's kiss they were good. The salad was an entree size and properly filled me up! Everything about it was tasty and everything I had hoped for. It is pricey, but it is a pretty nice restaurant. We made the drive from Odessa for a conference and ended up at Seafire Grill in New Port Richey... totally worth it. From the moment we showed up the vibes were good. Big building, plenty of parking... looks impressive. We were greeted right at the door, asked if we'd rather sit by the bar or in the lounge with karaoke going. Tempting, but hunger won so we picked a cozy booth by the bar. Our server Jalen made the whole night shine. Friendly, attentive, checked in, made suggestions. I browsed the drink menu, nearly got the tableside smoked old fashioned... but opted for a Hurricane Cat 1. Nothing crazy, just a good mixed fruity drink. Prices are solid for what you get. My friend went full-on carbs: scallops and linguine, gouda mashed potatoes, and seafood mac and cheese... presentation was sharp. I ordered the sirloin, medium rare, with Cabernet reduction. Broccolini on one side, switched mash for mushroom risotto, and added a side of scampi shrimp because we were hungry. Food came out on heated plates. I asked to cut into the steak so we could see the perfect medium rare... right on. The risotto was savory, the shrimp buttery and clean. We still had room for dessert. Split the dulce de leche cake... beautiful to look at, unique flavor, just sweet enough without being heavy. Atmosphere, service, food... all lined up. Seafire delivered. I had a really disappointing experience at Seafire Grill in New Port Richey. The food was far below what I expected -- bland, poorly prepared, and definitely not worth the price. On top of that, the service took forever. We waited way too long just to get basic things, and the whole experience felt slow and unorganized. With so many good restaurants in the area, I wouldn't recommend this one. Josh the manager helped me select the menu for our stand up reception and also dinner. Between the chips and sandwich I was overwhelmed by the grease and fell ill before I reached home. Grease, grease, grease. It was horrible. Half the bread on the cheesesteak was dry and crunchy as toast and due to some type of marketing presentation forum in the back room the cooks were overwhelmed by the regular paying customers and it was an easy 45 minutes before our food arrived. So their website needs tweaking because it accepted the reservation. The staff isn't welcoming, didn't show enthusiasm, and set us up in a booth that had wet seats from previous cleaning. So we had to wait until someone brought a dry towel to wipe the seats down. As for the food, not made to satisfy the price. My first visit was great, but my second visit, meh. For apps we had 5 piece garlic parm wings (we originally ordered lemon pepper but they were out), twin crab cakes and lobster bisque. My son LOVED the wings! The crab cakes I would not get again. I like big chunks of crab with little filler in my crab cakes and these were the complete opposite of that. The lobster bisque was disappointing also. In pictures online I saw pieces of lobster in the bisque however mine had 0. It was very very thick almost gelatin like with no lobster and hardly any flavor. I ordered the seafood pasta and it was pretty good actually! Just wish it had another scallop bc 2 wasn't enough for me, but I understand they are pricey! The Alfredo was tasty. Hubby ordered the filet and I tried some and was not wowed. Definitely needed seasoning and it wasn't buttery tender but he enjoyed it. He ordered his mashed loaded and as you can see they were not. We were also charged extra for that and it was not taken off the bill but we just wanted to get home so we left it alone. My youngest got the kids Alfredo but no Alfredo just butter and for $8, He got 1/4 cup of pasta if that. If your kids are big eaters, I would definitely not have them order off the kids menu, for the pasta at least. When the check arrived, my husband was trying to sign and fill out the tip, However, the pen wouldn't work. He asked for a new pen was able to get the tip filled out and then the pen stopped working again. I do not think that the paper is meant to be written on lol. Or at least give us something that we could put the paper on to make it work, like the checkbook thing but that was taken away. This restaurant is high end. The restaurant downstairs is much more casual. Both had live music while we were there from 7-9pm on a Friday night. I would recommend making a reservation.
