I'll make this as brief as possible. We went to Season on Saturday night, all 4 of us eagerly anticipating a great meal. Service was terrible. Heck, I know it's difficult to hire excellent staff these days, but the price point for the restaurant means they need to TRAIN their staff. Clearly, they did not. I'll move right on to the food. One guest ordered the stuffed artichoke for their starter and it was inedible. The artichoke still had the "hair" covering the heart, there were leaves that had not been removed and were sharp and pointy, and the entire dish was a mess of breadcrumbs. Inedible. When we told the server, there was no "I'm so sorry, would you like anything else "or any such service-oriented statements. She merely said "OK" and took it away. Moving on to the main courses which by the way took an inordinate amount of time to arrive: The pasta dish with meatballs was floating in sauce, drowning is a better word. Again, very unpleasant and left mostly uneaten. My pasta with cauliflower was heavy-handed and too salted. There was no subtlety to the flavors and the pasta was overcooked. The pasta with peas and asparagus was acceptable but for the prices charge, acceptable isn't enough. Over sauced as well. Our fourth guest had 2 sides, one being tasty, and the other like glue. As for service: Asked the waitress for another menu, got silverware instead. Asked for the table candle to be lit and had to ask multiple times. Two wine glasses brought to our table instead of four, even though we said we'd all have wine. Waited a long time for the wine. When we asked about our order because we were waiting for so long, we were told "we're next" (kind of like the line in the bakery). No apologies for the wait. No one asked us if we enjoyed dinner, we paid the check and left. Got contacted by Open Table that we didn't show up at the restaurant and didn't notify them. WHAT....we were there and we were seated by name;) Please note we were polite, tipped the waitress well and were left to leave without so much as a goodbye. Prices We're not fussy and I've seen all of the good reviews which is why we went. We can only think the chef wasn't in the kitchen. read more

My family and I went for dinner expecting nothing extraordinary. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing food that we enjoyed that evening. We ordered the meatballs, candy bacon, roasted chicken, linguine with clams, smoked braised short ribs, halibut, truffle fries and mac n cheese for the kids. Everything is delicious. I would have to say that candy bacon was my favorite, closely followed by the short ribs and the linguine. The meatballs were wonderful, fries were delicious. I am a huge fan of meatballs and it's hard to find one that is juicy, flavorful and tender. The candy bacon was Amazing! It was simply delicious and I cannot wait to go back again. read more

This might be the best restaurant on Long Island that I have been to. There aren't many tables so make sure to make a reservation. My wife and I have been here twice and every plate we've tried has been amazing. The menu changes seasonally, hence the name. The burger is amazing but if you don't want to do a burger for dinner, make sure to get the sliders to start. The tacos are always incredible and I almost never get pasta dishes but the lobster pasta was the best pasta dish I think I have ever had. The passion fruit margarita and gin tea are dangerous in the sense that you do not taste the alcohol. You absolutely have to have the bread pudding for dessert. read more

What I didn't expect was the banging door from the kitchen that shook the wall I was seated against and literally vibrated the sheetrock and light fixture, with every exit. We went with another couple. My husband could not find something on the menu he could eat, but they had rigatoni so he asked for rigatoni bolognese, which the waiter confirmed they could do. My husband specified nothing on top, just the pasta and sauce. It came out with Parmesan cheese all over the top. The waiter apologized and took it back to the kitchen. When it came out the second time, the pasta was basically swimming in sauce. It was not like the first bowl. My husband did not say anything but didn't eat much because the pasta was also very over cooked. The rest of us had good meals. When the waiter came to clear, my friend told him that my husband didn't like his meal and told him why. Again, the waiter apologized and said he was taking it off the bill. We ordered dessert and coffee/tea. While we were waiting, the chef came out of the kitchen and over to our table. He was irate that my husband sent the food back, and didn't care that he didn't like it. He actually said that he was charging him for it because it wasn't on the menu and he made it for him!! Our jaws dropped. He stood there berating us for "comments that were made". When we asked him in confusion what he was talking about, he referred to something my husband said when we sat down. A nicely dressed smiling lady came to our table to assist with drinks. My husband asked if she was married to the chef, (because she had this confident demeanor as if she was an owner). She answered yes, and he said "I knew it". She then walked away. So somehow she took offense to my husband's remarks and told her husband, the chef. We left the restaurant in complete disbelief. We are in our 60's, and have NEVER been treated this way at any of the thousands of restaurants we have been to. This is no way to treat customers, and the chef is a VERY foolish man. He should have apologized that my husband didn't like his meal, as any other chef would have. That is how you get repeat customers! Needless to say, the 4 of us will NEVER return, and have now spread the word to our many friends, who will never step foot in that restaurant. Some have been there before and now will never return. we enjoyed visiting season for the first time last night. the chef/owner (joe) walked around and greeted patrons which was nice. service staff very friendly. the place is small but cozy maybe 10-12 tables. The cocktails were well made. all food came out as ordered and was quite tasty and delicious. I would have liked a bit more choices on the menu ie more chicken dishes, tuna perhaps some comfort choices. regardless there is something for most tastes. i understand the menu changes with seasons so check the menu before heading there. there is only on-street parking which can be difficult. i recommend trying this very nice local find! we will be heading back soon. one last thing. they should add a wind door. each time the door opens it gets very chilly read more

12 hours later and my mouth is still watering from the absolutely scrumptious crab risotto from last night at Season. Season is a new restaurant, so I was a bit wary heading in, but I heard great things, so I was excited. When I say everything, I mean EV - RY - THING was perfect last night. A couple buddies of mine and I split the Wagyu Sliders, Bacon Candy (Bacon candy?!?!?) and Paulie's Meatballs (ayyy) and each order was a home run. Then for the entrees, I split the Halibut (my first time ever having Halibut actually!) and the Crab Risotto. I don't often write Yelp reviews, but I couldn't help but share my experience at this wonderful new restaurant. Even the Chef Joe came over and said hello after our meal - what a nice guy. If I could have any of those dishes for breakfast right now, I would! Now I'm just stuck with eggs that I have to cook for myself. Yuck! Was looking for a new restaurant and discovered Season. Don't let the outside appearance deter you. Open the door and it's a sleek, clean and stylish place. Staff welcoming and warm. Bacon Candy app was tremendous. Couldn't be too good for you but absolutely mouth watering. My wife had a great salad and veggies and I had the Sausage orecchiette. Returned to Season Bistro in Glen Head, NY for a girls' dinner out. I brought my friends and relatives to this new hot spot and everyone was blown away by the great restaurant vibe, the awesome drinks and the amazing food. Chef Joe never disappoints with incredible pasta dishes, the halibut is out of this world and tonight's special of sea scallops over risotto was out of this world. I am a vegetarian and was certain that I would have to weed through the menu to find something that I liked. Boy was I happily surprised. I started with the Burnt Brussies that were perfectly charred and I ended up ordering both the Rigatoni with Caramelized Cauliflower Pesto AND the Spaghetti Squash Special of the Day. Both were mind blowing. I asked Chef Joe the secret and he told me that the Cauliflower Pesto is slow cooked for hours to ensure that the flavors all combine to perfection. Wow, this place was really great. Just went with my wife and daughter and it did not disappoint. We started with the Wagyu Sliders, Bacon Candy and Meatballs. Everything was amazing and had so many layers of flavor. I had the linguine with white clams and apple smoked bacon which was also amazing. My wife opted for the Mezzi Rigatoni Burrata Pasta which was a just as great. Being a first generation Italian who still travels back and forth I am pretty Particular when it comes to sauces, pasta, meatballs and Italian food in general. I always compare them to my own, my parents, wife's or what I get in restaurants in Italy and most of the time even the best place, although good, fall short. This place definitely was a step above all these comparisons, sorry mom. This is a new place so I hope they can keep this up as they will have great success with this kind of quality. I will definitely be a regular Customer. Can't wait to back and bring some friends. read more
