Seated quickly... Then sat and sat... 35 minutes... Waitress refilled water to tables all around then cleared plates from table across from ours. She returned, took there dessert order. Returned 5 minutes later with the desserts. She looked our table then asked "you want me to take your order?" We said yes to which she said she would be back. 10 minutes later we walked out. OK, 5 stars for a restaurant in Lone Pine - which is generally a bit of a culinary wasteland? I must be crazy right? Look, I don't know how or why but the food in this place is gourmet good. The wine list is long and looked excellent, but they had Mammoth beers on tap so we drank those. We had some shrimp appetizer that was excellent. For main course I had duck. It was half a duck, tender and succulent inside, and cripsy on the outside, with a sweet berry-sauce, yellow beans, and rice pilaf. This was an excellent dish, just first-rate, and the price was $20! This dish was the equal of what I could have got in an LA or OC restaurant but for about $10-15 less. The service was also good. After our seven hour drive from the bay area, I wasn't expecting fine steaks in good ole Lone Pine. The menu was pretty varied and the food delicious. A bit pricey but the steaks were cooked just as we ordered and delicious. I wasn't expecting Bay Area high end quality but this was pretty darned good. Atmosphere was nice. Service was adequate. Steak was good but was covered in a bland green peppercorn sauce that didn't have any flavor, hubby had the steak with blue cheese that was better. The mashed potatoes tasted old and tired and couldn't eat the broccoli as it was overcooked in soy sauce that was so heavy the salt content made it unpalatable. Had to spend the night in Lone Pine, asked the clerk at the place we were staying at for the best place in town. He recommended Seasons Restaurant. Food is not bad but not great. I had the steak which was average. Our servers could have been more attentive, we did come in close to closing time. I never expected to have fine dining in Lone Pine CA, but's that's what you get at Seasons restaurant. You will be pleasantly surprised. Excellent service, food and a pleasant atmosphere. My husband and I had such a lovely experience, we booked our accommodations another night just so we could have dinner again at Seasons. We had salmon with dill sauce the first night and the following night we had fillet mignon with peppercorn. Both were perfection. Oh and the shrimp scampi for appetizer is a must. YES this place is as good as it gets! The only bad side of this establishment is that we cannot see it. Its outdoor signs and look does not distinguish it as a fine dining restaurant but as a typical burger place. Thats too bad because once you are inside, from the service to the wine to the meals, it is a TOTAL delight for your tastebuds. We ordered a great wine from Australia shiraz then scampi as appetizers that were so delicious served with their homemade warm bread. yummy!!! Then we ordered roasted half duck and grilled lamb with goat cheese. Wow! Both were just perfect and as I work in the hospitality food business myself, I know what I am talking about. Very nice restaurant. Dimly lit, nice interior, well dressed staff. A bit more upscale than your average restaurant, but not a Ruth's Chris, so you don't need to dress up. Decided to try Seasons out after reading some of the Yelp reviews. Kinda wish I didn't. The menu was a bit pricey but I was willing to pay more for good food while on vacation. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the price. We started with the French Onion Soup and moved onto the Flat Iron Steak and The Pork Tenderloin, both were meh, the soup was just okay. Eat here every year on our annual fishing trip. The food here is incredible. You could cut the steak with a butter knife its so tender. My husband has the chicken each time due to the excellent flavor. Seasons is not cheap, average cost is $25 to $33 a plate, however, it's worth it. read more

Started out great, we were 2nd couple in after opening. It just got worse, our wine was delayed, we never got our dinner salads until after dinner was served and then it took forever to get our check. We had a wonderful dinner here. Food and service were excellent. We had the elk, the duck and the steak and all 3 dishes were very well prepared. It is a little pricey but you are paying for quality food. My only complaint was the small portion of elk compared to the other 2 dishes. read more

First Class! A small locally owned restaurant in a small town I wasn't expecting too much. I thought it might be home style cooking, but no. My wife and I both ordered filet mignon and salad, the salad had a house made bleu cheese dressing which was excellent. The steaks were cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth good served with a very nice sauce. Accompanied by a locally brewed Scottish style ale which was very nice. The food was good, but the table service was very poor. We were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly in a cheerful manner. Shortly after the server's assistant brought water and a bread basket (the bread was hot and delicious!) As I was sitting I could see the hostess setting up for a large group and talking to a server about it. The server didn't look too happy. Since she turned out to be assigned to our table also I tried to be cheerful knowing she may be feeling a little overwhelmed. Along with our meal my husband ordered an ice tea. When she came back with our salads she noticed his empty glass and said, "You sure drank that fast." He laughed and asked for more. She came back later saying they were out of freshly brewed ice tea. This was about 8pm, but if she had noticed it was low when pouring the first glass more could have been brewed. They were also still seating people that may have wanted some. She asked if he would like something else and he asked for a diet coke. As we were waiting for our entrees I saw her standing and talking to people in the middle of the restaurant with her back to the tables she was serving. Our food came out and it was very good. My husband's trout was a hearty serving and well seasoned. I ordered the elk and it was very enjoyable. Still no drink for my husband. So we got the attention of her assistant and asked for a cup of coffee instead. There was a hiccup with the coffee being cold, but he took care of it quickly and explained what happened. During this time our server is now sitting at a booth in the corner with people (customers, the owners?) and talking on the phone, again with her back to the room. She did not check on how we liked our meals or remember anything about the beverages. Later she checked if we wanted to see a dessert menu and then brought us our check. After that we didn't see anything more than the back of her head. The hostess was walking by so we asked her to take care of the bill. About 15 minutes before we left the large group I mentioned earlier was seated. By the time we walked out she still had not gone to the table to greet them or take their orders. Suggestion - Let her try the food so she knows how good it is and can be more enthusiastic about it. It took us questioning her to go from a curt "Rice or Potatoes?" to telling us it was garlic mashed potatoes and saffron rice (it was really just rice pilaf) The food is not diner quality or price, so the service shouldn't be either. read more

Looking for a nice place to have a quiet dinner on our way to Las Vegas we found it right here in Lone Pines! Seasons has the nicest waiters and the greatest food! The key lime cocktail was a tasteful start. We very much enjoyed the -non sourdough- bread along with the shrimp provencales. We were served a house salad with anice and not too much dressing before getting our entree. After having the veal mushrooms (which was a little too sweet) and a super tender steak sirloin with green pepper corns which was excellent prepared - we had eaten so much we had to skip desert. We were flattered by the Dutch waiter Bobby who looked after us very well and has a great sense of humor and voice! We stopped there last night on our way through town and it was horrible. My attorney husband and I both make quite a bit of money, but we were dressed in jeans and t-shirts and had been on the road all day when we happened by. First it took almost 5 minutes for them to even come acknowledge that we (and a family of 3 also crammed in the small waiting area) were even waiting to be noticed. Many waitresses walked right by us, and even if they can't seat us, they didn't even look up or acknowledge our existence. Nobody even bothered to say "somebody will be right with you" or at the very least, "hi". Finally someone came and seated the family before us, and was gone for another two minutes before she came back and asked us if we had a reservation (the restaurant was half empty). We said no so she seated us at a table and proceeded to tell us about the daily special of chicken piccata, making sure to point out to us that it was $22.00, and to "keep that in mind while we look over the menu". What the everloving f*&k is that supposed to mean? We were already not loving the place because of the "warm welcome" we received, but they were so ostentatious and insulting that we got up, told her we were going across the street to the cafe, and left. I'm sure she thinks we left because after looking at the menu we couldn't afford anything more than water and to split a salad. We could have bought the building. Instead, we walked across the street to the Mt. Whitney diner and had a fun, relaxing dinner there, regaling everyone with our experience across the street (to the tune of many people agreeing and saying they've also experienced a bad "vibe" there). At the diner, my husband got chicken fried steak, I got spaghetti, including soup or salad, and our bill came out to $29 bucks including sodas, and we tipped our waiter a LOT because we figured we were already planning to spend some serious dough at Seasons and we'd rather give it to the really nice kid who waited on us across the street. This place is great! I have been coming to the area for years and Seasons is on of the highlights of any trip to the Sierra! The elk is outstanding, the steaks are done just right and the trout is also very good. But so are the crab cakes scallops and other entrees, this Restaurant could hold it's own in LA or SF, but this is Lone Pine! read more

The food is very good, expect the best in Lone Pine. I had the elk. I would put it on the "have it if you've never eaten it before" list. It was very good. Not like beef and not gamey like venison. As I don't drink wine, I can't comment on the wine list. Service good. Food very good. Prices were reasonable for the quality and setting. We'd go back next time we are visiting Manzanar. read more

Great elk and beef, and wonderful local beers

I have been coming to Lone Pine for 45 years and stay at the Dow Villa which is a block away and never knew Seasons was here. The French Onion Soup was in my all time top three. The 10 ounce Filet Bernaise was closer to 16 than 10. I have paid more than 3 times the price for half the quality. The cut of meat was superb and perfectly cooked. Something I dont get in even the finest L.A. has to offer these days. I found only 1 fault and I will not raise it publicly. I give them a 4.95, a mark I have never given before. read more
