We stopped by this casual seafood spot on a Saturday that had a line out the door. The restaurant itself is small and includes primarily outdoor seating and a small section indoor for bar service. You order with the cashier and the food is brought to you. Although the line moved a bit slow, once we ordered the wait time wasn't too bad. We sat in the outdoor patio, where you'll find water, condiments, and utensils. We tried the hot lobster roll sandwich which comes with slaw and fries. The lobster itself was plentiful and delicious. We didn't care for the dressing on the slaw and the fries were good. We asked the cashier if she preferred the shrimp or fish tacos and she reccomended the fish. The tacos are $5 each, but if you get the plate you'll get two tacos and chips and salsa for $9.99. The tacos were good and the battered fish was nicely sized. We came back to Seasurf for dinner tonight for my husband's fish and chips fix. I had the teriyaki salmon bowl. It was not as good as the last few times and the salmon was thin as paper and a bit fishy. The rice was undercooked. It was still hard. My husband, of course, had the fish and chips. The fish they use for this fry fish was nice and flaky, we thought they did a good job on this dish. It did tale a very long time for this order to come out. I was almost done with my dinner by the time she brought it out. The fries were hard. Cole slaw was too sweet. My wife and I enjoy the Seasurf Fish restaurant every time we come to S. C. for vacations. The food, beverages, and service has always been very good. Our recent visit while on vacation will be memorable for a very long time because of what occurred when we left the outside seating area. During my drive back to our hotel, I realized that I didn't have my wallet. I quickly called Surfside and spoke with Tory who assured me that it had been found and turned in by Gabby who found it on the ground next to the table where we had been seated. I thanked both of them immensely and then called manager Jamie the next day to give those two employees praise for their integrity and honesty. I do like the blackened fish burrito I have had in the past. Today I tried the shrimp burrito. I am not sure the shrimp was cooked through and like the fish burrito they do go heavy on the rice in their burritos. The other flavors in the burrito are good. The Wife had the North Shore Garlic Shrimp and that shrimp was over cooked. She did eat it without complaint and she liked the pickled veggies and the rice. Wow! I'm obsessed with this place. I've been wanting to go for a while and finally made it a point to stop by and I was blown away. To start, I love the vibe of the restaurant. Super casual and inviting with a small bar with a selection of tap beers and a showcase with fresh oysters and poke. The patio has ample seating so don't let the inside sway you! Our food was incredible. The fish was perfectly fried, flaky tender, and flavorful. The calamari wasn't my favorite as I found the breading to be grainy but it was not chewy and a generous size. We took home poke nachos for my family and it was huge and delicious! The place has seating for around 60 people and parking for 10 cars. The ordering process is quite simple: you place your order at the front counter and the staff will bring the food to your table. We ordered the following items: Cioppino: the portion was pretty generous for the price, with fresh seafood and nicely flavored tomato based sauce, light and slightly sweet. The noodles were al dente with very nice texture. Maui Shrimp: the shrimps were lightly caramelized and went very well with the seasoned rice, the sour and sweet brine from preserved onion and sliced cucumber greatly enhanced the overall taste of the dish. I didn't think I could find a new fish taco to overtake Rubio's but I'm happy to report that Seasurf has a solid classic fish taco amongst other incredible dishes! We tried so many things - the poke bowl, steamed clams, calamari, garlic noodles with shrimp, clam chowder, and of course, the fish tacos. The calamari was coated in corn meal which was not my favorite but the rest of the dishes were worth the calories and the drive! Service is pretty non-existent because it's a self serve counter basically but they do take your order and bring your food out for you. The downside to this place is definitely the parking (mainly street parking with a very small parking lot), followed closely by the tiny amount of seating at this place. Family of 5 came in and line was out the door. 30 mins standing. Not sure what all the hubbub is, but one kid got the Alfredo and loved it. Other kid didn't like at all. Neither enjoyed their salad which was made with some odd tasting arugula or something. Both said about 5/10. Older child had shrimp burrito said it was a 7/10 nothing special. One other member had the ciopinno and said it was a 7/10. Biggest problem came for myself was the sea bass meal. The fish was good. Thin but good. Other than that however I leave hungry from a $90 bill due to the plate having only white rice and an awful salad. I went in to ask for another side to fill up and they said they can't do any. So I went back to seat and decided to go back and order something else like nachos that looked good or poke. They said it was too late and couldn't order anymore. We happened to come on a day that was a little gloomy, but still pretty warm and humid. It is a small restaurant. Seats are out in the front on the street side, as well as in the back. Not a lot of seats available but if you go outside of rush hour, you should be fine. Seating in front on the street side though, isn't that great. You'll be smelling the fumes from passing cars. The unisex restroom is to the front and right side of the restaurant. Service - order your food at the counter and find a seat. They'll bring your food out to your table. The batter was nice and crispy and very golden brown. It came with two dipping sauces and prefer the aioli sauce one over the marinara. RECOMMEND STUBBORN SODA - I love me some crafted stubborn soda. I mixed 1/3 black cherry with 2/3 root beer. Idk what made me mix, I think I was indecisive which flavor. Mixing was ok, I think I'd stick with just one flavor at a time next time. It's the perfect temperature and fresh. On the menu it claimed the burrito has grilled shrimp but they were really not grilled, just cold. That was the only disappointing part. This place has great food but the service every time is basically non existent. We went for lunch and there was a large line that really didn't move quickly at all. The server/person at the register was in no rush to take an order. Someone sat at the bar area and she immediately went to take their order even though there was at least 20 people in line and we were at the register just waiting as she got these people their drinks. I think this place needs more staff at both of their locations. The attitude is lackadaisical and the person at the register at both locations often seems as though they are overwhelmed and upset that people are even there to order. Get more help! read more

It's a half-service restaurant where you order the food at the counter, take your number and look for your own table. The waitress will bring your food out when they're ready and clean the table afterward. Since my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees for 2.5 of us. When you go on the Seasurf website, you choose the location you want and right at the bottom of each location, they offer, "Order Online". Great! Unfortunately, their online order system doesn't work. I started my order, added all the required information, and when I entered, "Submit" I got an "Error Occurred" with the only option, "Ok". Tried a number of changes to my information to move it forward. Didn't work. I deleted my order, turned my iPhone off, turned my iPhone back on, went back to the website and re-entered everything again. Still received the "Error Occurred", "OK" etc. I should have given up then and gone someplace else. But Seasurf has a great menu. I went to the restaurant and asked if the online system was down. I was told, "The system goes down from time to time." I was also told that "We don't recommend people using the online system." What? The order person also said I could go to Yelp to give my feedback. Seasurf's website provides each location with "Online Ordering" at the bottom of each location as well. And then to be told, "We don't recommend people using the online system"? I would think Seasurf would make sure the online system consistently works to avoid losing that additional revenue source If online ordering is truly an option, I think it should work. Until Seasurf's online system is fixed, I will go to other restaurants. read more
