As this wasn't an emergency, the dispslatcher said it would be today or tomorrow before a plumber would be sent. He was sent today. Sean called and arrived early afternoon and looked at the repair. He presented us three options and solid estimates. We chose the middle one and then decided to also ask about a toilet replacement. Again, Sean presented us options and we agreed to one He gave us. As he didn't have the toilet on his repair truck, Bee's dispatched an employee with a new toilet. Sean was very professional in his work, answering questions as he proceeded with the work. He mentioned a couple of things that needed replacing due to their aging. We agreed to have them replaced. When Sean presented the invoice, it was exactly as he stated. At no time did he try to "upsell" items were didn't need, unlike other plumbing firms in this area that are heavy TV advertisers. I would recommend Bee's Plumbing to anyone that ask! Thank you, Sean! And, thanks to your employer for all they have taught you, in not only the aspects of plumbing but also in customer service!

Only now my kitchen is torn apart, and I was informed today that the restoration company has a backlog on the restoration of over a month and that I have to contract my own restoration company if I want it done sooner. I've contacted Bees and am waiting for a call back, yet again. I'd like to provide some feedback to Bees: I have made a total of 4 calls to your company over the last several weeks. Your customer service staff has always been friendly and concerned about resolving this issue. I leave the calls feeling like this issue will get handled. However, every time I have been told that a manager will contact me. This has not happened once. Not one phone call from someone in charge to reach out to me, to apologize, let me know what the plan is, what to expect, what the timeline is. I'm honestly fine with a phone call that says "we don't know but we're working on it. We'll call you on this day with more information." I don't understand why no one has reached out to me for a 5 minute phone call to let me know I'm not being ignored, in over a month. That needs to change.

Ricky and Will determined that our leaking water heater was shot and replaced it quickly. Our old water heater was an 80 Gallon size and had been installed in January of 1980! The heater was way too large to be removed by two men (our stairs has a weird turn at the top), so Ricky said it would probably take four guys and he would talk to someone at head office to set that up. By the first of the year, I had still not heard anything, which I put down to it being the Christmas/New Years stretch, but called O'Neill after the new year and the dispatcher told me nothing had been set up, but he would talk to Ricky and then call me back later that afternoon. He didn't. I called the next morning and the dispatcher said that there would be a crew out Monday, January 6th between 9 and ten in the AM. We waited all morning before calling the office and the dispatcher contacted the crew who told him they had gotten really busy and decided to skip our appointment. We were never contacted by the crew. We set an appointment for the next day and I emphasized that the heater was huge and they would need some extra guys. A two man crew showed up the next morning and quickly discovered that they couldn't get it out without extra help. They called HQ and another guy came out and after much pushing and grunting, they got the heater out. I have to point out that everyone I dealt with from O'Neill was very polite, professional and helpful. But the extended period that the old heater sat in my basement and the effort to get it removed was a total cock-up. Despite all that, I would gladly use the company again.

When I signed with the management company, I didn't have any say over this and was not allowed to do any repairs myself. So I was stuck with oneill. First time they came out and installed a new Fluidmaster PRO45 "premium" fill valve, new lever (never seen a lever wear out in my life), and new stopper. That premium fill valve is a $20 part (retail) for which they sold to me for $28--whatever. $450 bucks for this visit. Two months later they came back out to adjust the float level, and charged me again. Uh, you should have correctly set the float level the first time. Even if you didn't, you coming back two months later and charging me again proves you value profit over relationships. If it were up to me, I would have never used them again. Fast forward to a little over 5 years later. That "premium" fill valve "failed" and they installed a new one, over $400. No f'ing way a premium fill valve should stop working anything short of 10 years if installed with half a brain in a regular use scenario. Korky makes a less expensive fill valve with a 10 year warranty. For that same $1,000 these clowns charged me over 5 years, they could have installed two brand new toilets over the same time period. Ridiculous.

OVERALL: 9.7/10. Near Labour Day 2021, I noticed that there were puddles of water in my second…read morebathroom, and freaked out - I couldn't tell if it was from a pipe burst, a ceiling leak, or something worse. It turned out (after a lot of self-experimentation) that it was from the toilet (most likely the feed that goes into the toilet bowl itself) -- since it was from the original condo build in 2003, and this was 2021, so... I guess toilets can stop working too? In any case, I had to scramble to get someone to fix it since I was afraid the leak would affect the floor beneath me (given how terribly this building was constructed, I wouldn't be surprised if the "between floor" spaces had issues). I bought my own toilet from Home Depot (thankfully they had some toilets, but I didn't get a water-saving one like I wanted because, despite the rebate, I don't actually pay for water in my building, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), and set out to find a plumber to install it. I tried to make sure I found a local business to support, so off I went! 1) VALUE FOR MONEY: 9/10. All things considered this turned out to be the cheapest option I had, since the other quote (Joe's 2 sons plumbing) was almost double what this one was. It came out to $523 (after tax) for labour and installation (of customer-provided toilet); the cost came out to be the same for either repair or replace ($375 for an onsite visit), but I needed to also change the angle stop for an extra $100 (labour inclusive). After tax, that seemed pretty reasonable, since I didn't know how to do this myself (Eero had mentioned it was pretty easy, but if it was my first time installing a toilet... maybe I should watch first). 2) QUALITY: 10/10. So far, no further leaks. I had a smarthome leak sensor near the toilet just in case, but I moved it elsewhere in the home as I realized these guys were legit, and I'm very happy with this off my back! 3) SERVICE: 10/10. The workmanship was solid - the most impressive thing I noticed was that I didn't need to move my over-toilet shelf to accommodate the plumbing work. He simply worked around it, and installed the toilet successfully! The plumber's name was "Eero" - he was no-nonsense, and even answered some other quick questions about my hot water heater that I had concerns about. The full turnaround was only six days, from "initial contact" to "work completed" (including a site visit to give me a free quote). I contacted them on September 3rd, and they completed the work on September 9, 2021. Jeremiah was responsive and explained everything in a very thorough and articulate manner (especially given my lack of understanding in the plumbing space).

Once Ryan arrived, he was extremely helpful and clearly determined to resolve the slow drain in our kitchen. He walked us through a few possible approaches and immediately got to work. After some diligent effort using a drain snake followed by his high‑powered water flushing equipment, the clog was finally cleared. Ryan also took the time to leave us with helpful tips on how to prevent future buildup, especially regarding cooking oils that had hardened inside the pipes. That extra guidance was much appreciated. Beyond his technical skills, Ryan was personable, friendly, and professional. In this day and age, it can feel worrisome inviting someone into your home--but Ryan is someone I'd gladly invite back for a cookout anytime. Overall, the service was fast, efficient, straight to the point, and fairly priced compared to the competition. I highly recommend Ryan and "I Need a Plumber Now!" Thank you, Ryan, for your hard work!

Due to drops of water appearing on the exterior underside of the overhang below my kitchen sink I suspected a small leak. After researching plumbers I chose Ben's Plumbing based on their positive reviews and BBB accreditation, switching from the firm we had used several times in the past. Derek and Taylor arrived and were able to find the general area of the leak. In order to expose the pipes and pinpoint the leak, they concluded that a hole would need to be cut in the groove-and-tongue staggered planks that formed the underside of the overhang. Though they could cut the hole if I wished, they suggested that I have it done by a specialist for aesthetic reasons; Ben's could then return and fix the exposed pipe. I followed their suggestion. After the pipes were exposed I was able to locate the very wee leak. Ben's Plumbing then sent Derek and Taylor to do the repair. They did excellent work, and the total cost was very reasonable with no surprises. The office staff I communicated with (via text) to set up the two appointments, Michelle and Kiera, were a pleasure to deal with.
