If I could give a zero star rating I would. We are visiting from out of state, and after a fun-filled day, ordered a pizza and salad for delivery. An hour and 15 minutes later we called to verify our order and see if there was a problem. We were told it would arrive at the hotel in under 10 minutes, and our credit card was charged. These people NEVER disappoint! Their pizzas are huge, always loaded with the freshest toppings, and always cooked perfectly. In fact, I think they ruined pizza for me, because I will never be satisfied with anything less than 2nd Ave quality. Wait times are usually around 30-45 min on popular pizza nights, but well worth the wait for the high quality. Avoid this place for delivery. One hour and forty five minutes sucks when you have two hungry kids. And then when they finally got there, they don't have a debit card reader. I had to call them and give them my credit card over the phone. The pizza was good, way better than Domino's. I got a meat lover's pizza and it was really thick with toppings. I would say get their pizza if you are going to their location, but don't get it delivered unless you have 2 hours to wait. This is unacceptable in a world where 30 minute pizza delivery is the norm. When I called they said upfront it would take an hour and 15 minutes. My kids had eaten there and really wanted it, so I said okay. At one hour 30 min I called and they had not even sent the delivery guy out the door yet. read more

I really don't WANT to have a bad experience dining out, and especially in a small community, local merchants deserve local patrons. This will be the 3rd update to the original (and scathing) review I wrote in 2006. That original was blocked. Our latest visit was slightly better than the previous 3, enough to just make it to 2 stars. the staff seemed friendlier this time. However the observations about the food as the same: lots and lots of toppings piled onto pizza. 2nd Avenue pizza is my all time favorite. Having said that, I have become gluten intolerant. I checked out other places gf pizzas when 2nd Avenue didn't offer gf and was disappointed at the size and quality for the money. SO HAPPY that 2nd Avenue now offers gf and it is the best. Even the leftovers are great, the crust remains delicious and doesn't turn into a mushy mess or a brick. My husband who hates gf baked goods loves this pizza. They don't make them fast, but good things come to those who are willing to wait. read more

Ate here once and disliked it so much that we've never been back. We don't like having to wait for a very very VERY long time to even place an order, much less to get our food. I call this garbage pizza - it looks like a garbage pile and it's so bad after one slice you throw the rest in the garbage. My wife and I ate at Second Avenue Pizza for the first time. Both of us were very impressed. Great customer service and the pizza was amazing. The price point was more than fair for the amount of toppings you got on your pizza. While waiting for our food some friends showed up and we shared our all different pizzas and bread-sticks. None of which disappointed, all were very tasty. I high recommend you bring a big appetite or just ask for a take home box up front. read more

So disappointed. We have been going here for years but the last 5 times we ordered pizza, yes 5, they were not good at all. I always try to give a place the benefit of the doubt, everyone has an off night so we try again. We ordered 2 pizzas over the weekend and the cheese was really burnt and dark brown all over. So I finally called after several times being bad and the not very helpful, not apologetic at all, girl said "we do cook the cheese on the well side and it was really busy today and we're just trying to get the pizzas out" Really???? It shouldn't matter how busy your restaurant is you should still sell a quality product. I still pay full price for a pizza so it should be consistent. We stopped in after a long day of snowmobiling, we are from WA state. Awesome service, fluffy crust no cornmeal which is a huge PLUS and tasty generous pizza toppings. We went simple with spicy sausage and mushroom way too much for 3 but leftovers were tasty too. The cheese bread and homemade meat dipping sauce was to die for. I suggest stopping in if you are hungry, you won't be disappointed. Price was right and the beer was cold with very friendly and welcoming servers. The atmosphere is small town; everyone knows everyone, its were the locals go after softball games, etc. Very friendly with a great jukebox. But what you really come here for is the pizza. They are packed and I mean packed with toppings. I'm the kind of person who can sit down and eat 4 slices of pizza no problem but when I come here I have one maybe two slices and take the rest to go, its that filling. The "JukeBox" is our go-to, but they have many others we've tried and loved like the Carolyn. Love to eat at this place when I am in Sandpoint! A super friendly local place that is passionate about their pizza. They use high quality and fresh ingredients that they pile on the pizza. We ate at Second Avenue Pizza last night after a full day of skiing. It was my parents-in-law first time at Second Avenue Pizza. For the six of us I suggested one large pizza, which they thought we would need two. At most place two pizzas are needed for six. However, definitely not at Second Avenue Pizza. After ordering and attempting to eat two Caesar salads (they are large also) and one large pizza we had three sliced remaining. Dinner for six with drinks and salad was $54. So with that being said everyone who works there was flat out rude to my family and I. My girlfriend said she saw a bunch of the employees in the back on their cellphones/ not working. I have traveled all over the world seeking the "best pizza!" I qualify that by Crust, generous Sauce and lots of high quality Toppings. I haven't been here for several years, but consistently I rate it #1 as the best I've ever had and tell everyone I meet the same. The reason it takes a half an hour to get your pie is it takes that long to cook all the piled high ingredients. Good things come to those who wait, enjoy your salad and beverage while sharing conversation with your friends and family, after all that's what it's all about! My #2 rated pizza is Northlake Tavern in Seattle by the UW. The Wall Street Journal rated it as the "best pizza in the country!" I eat there every couple weeks, incredible! This is a very simple run Pizza dive, with very good pizza. We ate in, you order and serve yourselves. It was huge portions, we had a large pizza that could have fed 4 people. Fresh toppings, good cheese and very good prices. A must go for pizza in Sandpoint for sure. read more
