    We installed our Thermador refrigerator in June, 2024 and in March, 2026 (less than two years…read morelater) the ice maker stopped working so I asked my husband to contact Thermador to request a trusted appliance repair business referral. The representative referred us to Wilshire Refrigeration & Appliance. The service call was $125 and the technician came out on March 18, 2026. On the day of our appointment, he arrived in a fancy black SUV; not a standard work truck or van. It took awhile for him to come inside. He opened up his hatchback, stood there for several minutes, took a few drinks from his thermos, wiped his face off with a towel then walked up to our door in slow motion with a drill in his hand. I told my husband "Oh boy, I'm a little concerned about this guy already." We introduced ourselves and brought him into our kitchen. The first thing he said was "If I have to pull out that refrigerator from the wall, the clock starts ticking." Apparently, the $125 service call didn't include pulling the appliance away from the wall so he could check behind it so my husband pulled it out for him. After doing so, he didn't inspect the backside. He opened the front door, glanced inside and said "you need a new ice maker and the cost to install one will be appx. $1,500." I told him I was not interested in paying $1,500 for a new ice maker that has only been in operation for 1 year and 7 months. I can buy a lot of ice for that price." He then said "Well you can buy a new one or you might want to consider buying a sub-zero refrigerator." Why would this repair technician even suggest this considering the fact that Thermador referred his company to us? In conclusion, we sent him on his way and my husband researched how to replace the ice machine on YouTube. He ordered the replacement part on Amazon for $130 and installed it. Within an hour, our ice machine started working. How many old ladies has this company scammed for a $1,500 ice machine repair? If the part costs $130, the labor cost should not be $1,500 plus $125.00 for the service call and an additional cost to pull the refrigerator away from the wall! Total scam. Do not use this company.

Thought I would either 1) be charged $900 buck for a new compressor, or 2) have to buy a new fridge. These guys showed up when they said they would and realized that the problem wasn't the compressor, but the relay. They also repaired my icemaker while he was there and had all the parts in his truck. Due was waaaaayyyy more knowledgeable than the guy who used to repair my fridge and -- get this -- cheaper. I'm calling these dudes for everything from now on!

    I had an excellent experience with Sam Appliance Repair. I called Friday night around 6:18 PM about…read moreour refrigerator, which had stopped cooling. Sam was extremely responsive and immediately set up an appointment for the next day between 3-6 PM. I mentioned I had another commitment in the afternoon, but Sam insisted on coming in the morning between 9-10 AM to take a look himself. He quickly diagnosed that the fan wasn't working and replaced it right away, providing a 3-month warranty for parts and labor. Later that same day, around 10:30 PM, the refrigerator stopped working again, no compressor or fan sound, but the power was on. Since it was the weekend, I couldn't reach him immediately. On Monday morning, I called Sam, and he promptly scheduled an appointment for the same day between 3-6 PM. He arrived on time, diagnosed that the main board had failed, and ordered a replacement part. Two days later, Sam came back without me needing to follow up, replaced the board, and our refrigerator was working perfectly again. He charged a very reasonable price and gave a 1-year warranty for parts and labor. Sam is polite, professional, and genuinely cares about helping his customers. I feel so lucky to have found Sam Appliance Repair, this is exactly why he deserves 5 stars. Thank you so much, Sam!
