Burnt hard I can even break the wings

I grew up eating 1st seafood and now we eat 2nd seafood. This place has lost me as a customer. The chicken is refried as you order it and it's hard old burnt. I spoke to the owner (man) he was rude. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!! WHALES food is fired fresh just go a mile further past second seafood. The audacity to treat customers like that when we spending money 2-3 times a week!!

    Fish,Shrimps & Chicken

Decided to stop at Second Seafood because I was in the area. Big mistake. I order the 2 piece fish & 9 shrimps. Throw the whole Seafood plate away it was old & so not fresh. Considering the price they charge I expected better. It's a reason they put these kinda places in the hood. They love serving African Americans & Mexicans low quality food. I would never patronage then again & do not recommend this place

The best chicken strips hands down now that's said I would call in my order because this place gets packed and I don't like to wait my order these days is catfish with chicken strips extra honey mustard and strip fried rice trust me you won't be disappointed probably enough food to split with another person.

    3% charge on cards
    Gary P.

First, I didn't notice or hear being told about the 3% charge on Cards. I don't agree with this and hope all business don't start doing this. I see it as free money to the Business. Not knowing if I would come back I tried several things. The gizzards are good, not too much breading but needs more seasoning and a Spicy option. The Jumbo Shrimp and regular were good but heavy on the Breading, I prefer a lighter breading on everything breaded. I asked for hard fried Oysters but were softer than I like. The fries unseasoned and under cooked not crispy. The Red fish which is what drove me there was good. The wings were good. Using Tony's Cajun spicy seasoning would fix the seasoning issue, lighten up on the breading, cook longer what needs to be and BAM! 5 stars. All good. Limited seating, take out preferably and Call in your order,

The fried oysters and fried chicken wings are always a hit for me. Reasonable prices. It's better if you call about 20 mins in advance for a quicker in and out pickup.

Boiled shrimp was actually grilled shrimp. The food was not seasoned enough and the shrimps are very small.

I enjoyed the food. I was able to get my fish grilled instead of fried which was great.

I had seen a few reviews mentioning that their Crawfish had a tomato sauce base, which already sounded off. When I picked up the order, the usual mouthwatering aroma you expect with Crawfish just wasn't there. And once I got home and tasted them, I was even more disappointed. They didn't taste Cajun or even remotely like any Crawfish I've ever had. I couldn't quite identify the flavor, but it was definitely not what I was expecting -- and not in a good way. I ended up making my own garlic Cajun boil at home and let the Crawfish sit in that just to salvage the meal and somewhat satisfy my craving. I won't be ordering Crawfish from Danny's again. If you know what real Cajun food tastes like, these Crawfish will miss the mark entirely.

I've visited twice for lunch, and while both experiences were solid, my first visit stood out just a bit more in terms of flavor. One thing I always look for in a crawfish place is consistency, and this spot comes close, though there's a slight variation between visits. The food arrives quickly and hot, which is always a plus. Our server was attentive and seemed to anticipate our needs without being overbearing. They offer a variety of seafood combinations at reasonable prices, making it easy to customize your meal. I added broccoli to my boil, which was a nice touch. I ordered the house sauce with a "spicy" level, but it didn't really bring any heat. Portion sizes are generous. Even though I can usually finish my boil, it's definitely enough to have leftovers. Overall, it's a dependable spot for a satisfying crawfish boil.

When we arrived, the host let us choose where we wanted to sit. I originally spotted a cozy booth by the window, but since we were asked if we'd like to sit where we could watch the TV during the Cup match, we opted for one of the high-top tables instead. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake because there isn't any lighting at the high tables. We could barely see our food. Adding pendant or drop-down lighting above those tables would make a huge difference. If you plan to visit, I'd recommend requesting a regular table or booth for better lighting. The menu is definitely unique, though I found it somewhat limited compared to other seafood restaurants. To start, I ordered the roasted oysters while my friend had a dozen raw oysters with all the traditional fixings. The roasted oysters were delicious, but there was so much topping that it almost took the shine away from the oysters themselves. Next time, I'd ask for lighter toppings and no scallions. For my entrée, I had the Halfshell Grilled Redfish. The fish itself was cooked beautifully--moist, flaky, and perfectly prepared. The only downside was the chermoula, which leaned far too heavily on the citrus. The lemon flavor completely overpowered the fish. As my side, I ordered the Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo. Unfortunately, it had a distinct burnt taste, which made it seem like the roux had been overcooked. A good gumbo should have a deep, rich flavor, but this one was overshadowed by that burnt note. My friend ordered the Jerk Fish Collars, and we both agreed they would have been much better if the fish had been marinated to allow the jerk seasoning to really penetrate. I also ordered a Lemon Drop Martini, and I have to admit I was surprised when it arrived in such a tiny martini glass, especially considering the price. Overall, the quality of the seafood is evident, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I think a few adjustments to the lighting, better balance in some of the flavors, and more attention to details like the gumbo and cocktail portions would elevate the experience even further. I'd definitely return to try more of the menu and hope for a more polished experience next time.
