I came back to this restaurant to see if they made any improvements. The door leading back to the restrooms was a bit cleaner but the men's restroom door had no changes. It remained filthy. Today I got the Saturday special buffalo wings. My order was prepared promptly. Unfortunately, the filth from my previous visits and this one lead me to NOT recommend this restaurant. I have a concern that the buffalo sauce is to cover up a bad taste in the chicken. You can get the wings without sauce but they would not be included in the Saturday special. Of course, if you're familiar with this area you know there is a certain "charm" to this hood but as far as Second Seafood Market is concerned, they offer top notch take-out seafood for a very good price. I had the fried Tilapia and rice. If they were in any other part of town, they could easily charge double what they charge and it'd still be fair. If you're in the Discount Tire next door and hungry and thinking about eating here, keep in mind that they don't have dine-in but the food will taste just as good if you sit on the curb and eat it while you watch them work on your tires. Went to 2nd Seafood a couple weeks ago and omg the food is still good like I remember. Everything was hot and fresh. I ordered on the Yelp app and went and picked it up with no issues. My go to fish is Red Snapper and it was fresh and delicious. The spring rolls were ok but they were crispy and fresh. My son enjoyed the Red Snapper Sandwich it had fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Now to the shrimp they were a nice size and we're good as well. I love the fact they put the beansprouts in the fried rice. To me fried rice is not complete without them. I tried them for the first time because the place I usually go to burned down in a fire. I ordered 1 fish (catfish) 3 shrimp, shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. The rice was very bland. I usually don't need soy sauce but I needed at least 2 packets. The fish, shrimp and egg roll were pretty good. They charged $0.50 cent for an extra tarter sauce. The second time I ordered chicken wings, the sizes were a lot smaller than before - inconsistent, but the breading was seasoned and extra crispy! The fried catfish tastes fresh! I've had fried catfish at other places where there is a layer of mush between the fish and batter and where the fish felt rubbery and doesn't flake apart. The seasoned cornmeal batter is the perfect amount of saltiness. I've been here three times already and the fried catfish does not disappoint. It's definitely my go-to spot for fried catfish now. I'll try to take pictures of the fish next time! The portion of the fish fillet isn't anything to rave about, but I think it's your average sized fillet. We got and order of chicken wings with fried rice, deep fried biscuits, and deep fried tilapia. The chicken wings ranged from itty bitty to regular sized. The batter was crispy and nice, but you can definitely still see that there were still some feathers/hairs on the wings. The fried rice was okay...but after a few bites its like you're just shoveling pepper into your mouth. The biscuits were really good, fluffy on the outside, crunchy and crispy on the outside; best thing there. The fish wasn't that great. The place is Spartan and you can easily miss it. It's right before the AutoZone sign - not really designed for a sit down meal but you can if ya want. I come here when I'm fiending some fried rice. The combo rice is pretty good and there is shrimp you can see and not overstuffed with pork. The red snapper is good and the breading is light. The catfish is cooked well and not soggy.
