I've had an overall bad experience with SecurCare. To call it "secure" is inaccurate. First of all, about 9 months into my rental, my unit was robbed/trashed. Management was blase about it, saying the lock hadn't been tampered with, and since I am the only one with keys, they didn't know what to tell me. The indifferently told me to call the police to file a report, if I wanted to. It didn't make any difference, since I didn't have a written inventory or receipts for what was in the unit, and felt like filing an insurance claim would be pointless. I was having health issues and there was no way for me to try to inventory all my things at that point. In frustration I bought a new lock and relocked the unit. Inside, thieves had cut open boxes and thrown things all over. I suggested an adjustment on a couple months' rent and was told no. A few weeks later I was called and ordered to inspect my unit immediately since there had been a fire in an adjoining unit and sprinklers had gone off. At first glance, things seems ok and dry. It was hard to tell because my boxes were packed pretty densely. At this point I decided to get out asap. When I rented 14 months ago, rent was $85 a month. There have been three increases since then, with rent going up to $175. I have been getting my things out a car load at a time, and some items indeed were ruined by water--precious books, papers, and expensive oriental rugs ruined. Things with sentimental meaning that cannot be replaced. I finally have everything out and am ending my lease this month. I have paid approximately $2K to have much of my stuff essentially ruined. I am really disappointed and feel like this business is concerned only about bottom line profit, not customers. Storing things here was a waste of money and time. read more

I've used several storage facilities in the Denver Metro area. SecurCare has by far the nicest facility and most helpful staff. The building is newish and well designed with large carts, isles are wide enough for someone to pass if you are working at your unit, no bumpy thresholds to cross and cause items to fall off, lots of room to load and unload and it's always cool even on the hottest days. Ken and Steve are very attentive and helpful and will go out of their way for you. There are two entrances. The one on the west side has shade which is nice but can be busy around 5 PM when an adjacent dance studio is in full swing. No such competition on the north side. StorAmerica in Arcadia is infested with rats and is a health hazard especially for anyone with a compromised immune system. I was a tenant for 6 months and this is what happened to my property. I don't recommend using them unless you want to lose everything. Rats and other animals at StorAmerica Arcadia bit through cardboard, plastic and wood so don't think your goods are safe and protected. - Rat urine everywhere damaging wood and fabric surfaces - Feces everywhere (try not to breathe it in while clearing your goods out) - 2 dead rats one of them appeared to be dead for a while, the other looked freshly dead since it still had all its fur. - 1 dead bird with dried blood drippings down my furniture (not sure which animal hunted and ate it inside my unit, on my furniture). - No help from management except $500 max claim which doesn't cover over $17K worth of losses. UPDATE: In response to Sonny whom I've never met or spoken to, the least that your company could have done was provided a refund for all 6 months not a measly $500. I lost EVERYTHING not to mention losses of others in surrounding units. Passing off responsibility to a "third party" is weak. YOU are responsible for your customer's experience. As it stands I literally paid you to house what ended up being trash. read more

Beware ... the units have a gap between the walls and ceiling. Birds perch there and crap all along the edges. So if you must use this place, store your belongings AWAY from the sides, in the center only. Also, once they get you in with their "great prices," they raise the rent every six months. I was out of state so I was stuck leaving my stuff there for nearly two years. If you look closely at the second photo, you will see besides what the birds left behind, there were also smaller black droppings (rats? roaches? IDK). These were all across the floor. If you value your possessions, DO NOT store them at StorAmerica Aracadia. I lost most of my furniture and belongings due to a MAJOR rat infestation. Nearly everything I had, valued at well over $20,000, was ruined due to rats chewing on furniture and boxes, and leaving feces and urine EVERYWHERE. I even lost my very expensive designer bag. Not to mention the cost to dispose of these items, and sterilize the few items salvageable. There was a family of rats, dead and alive, living in or around my unit. Beyond the frustration and disappointment of losing my belongings, this is absolutely a health hazard and should be taken very seriously. We had insurance through our insurance company, but of course they didn't cover rodent damage. Because, who would've thought you'd need to protect your items from rats eating through your boxes and contaminating everything. Management did not do much to offer any assistance other than a measly $500 check, which didn't even cover the cost to dispose of the contaminated items. Management will blame the infestation on surrounding units, claiming there may be food in these units. This response only confirms that they know there is an infestation, but continue to rent their units putting people's hard earned belongings at risk. I think it's apparent that the "food" was my furniture, boxes, and belongings. If you're thinking of renting a space here, do yourself a favor and run the other direction. I've been using this location 31 years and I've seen at least two different managers in that time - since 1990 they've been raising my rent every 6 months. After I found out about Darlene I discussed the issue with her and she said she would try to reduce my rent by a small amount. It's not her fault, it's the headquarters of the company. Darlene is very good people who you can talk to, she shows concern and tries to help you out. We need more people like Darlene in this company and I always recommend StorAmerica to other people, except for the business of raising rents every six months. That needs to stop. read more

This place was nothing special We used thee floor storage room for a year and it was the lowest price in town but u get what u pay for. We now moved into our new home and I have roaches in my washer and dryer . I'm just hoping they aren't anywhere else . The only thing that was nice were the girls customer service but they seem to always take long lunches are there office is always closed . I wouldn't recommend this storage place unless ur tight on money. read more

i've had my storage unit here for about 2 years, but just closed it. Customer service has always been helpful and friendly. however, the cost of the unit though comparable to others in the area probably has gone up about 30% since i started, and they now require extra for mandatory insurance. also, it's been a few months since i have last accessed the unit, but all my stuff was covered in dust/ dirt since my unit is on the first floor, but in an inner corridor, so not sure where all the dust is from. read more

It's meh, okay, except for when the guy upstairs flooded my unit and they called me, and I spent 6 hours in the heat of summer hauling everything out and cleaning up the mess with only a token bit of help (they let me use a shop vac for a few minutes to suck the water up). But what really fries me is they ripped me off for almost 3 years on their probably phony "insurance" to the tune of an extra $300. I didn't need it, my renter's insurance covers my locker, and I declined theirs because it did. I did that for around 10 years. Then almost 3 years ago I got mailed notices to the tune that it was mandatory, and it was always added on my bill. I said I had insurance and didn't WANT theirs! But I had to come in and sign papers to prove I had insurance, yada yada. I did that already but apparently they were going to bend me over monthly because now it was clearly MANDATORY that I take their "insurance". Prices keep going up on top of that BS and I can't justify the expense anymore. Now that I have called again to question the insurance add on, looking for a way to reduce the monthly expense because of the latest $10 a month increase, I'm told "Oh well you can come in with proof that you're covered and sign a form".This is plain bull because everyone should be able to sign a waiver if they don't want coverage, so it has to just be a scam that's lining corporate pockets. I'm a hour away and they can't email or mail me a form? No, I *have to come in with proof and sign in person*! They know that people don't want to take an hour or two off work and spend the time and gas to get there during office hours, and that by making it really difficult they'll keep getting their little monthly "bonus". What does that add up to on how many lockers at $10 a month? What a con! Do NOT plan on storing anything long term at one of these places, just sell the crap and move on. The price will just keep going up, and It's all just going to rot in the heat because nothing is climate controlled here, and you could have bought it all again by the time you get it all back out, RUINED. read more

Horrible experience. I rented with stormaerica because they offered a free moving truck. The day of moving they informed me that the truck is in the shop and will be unavailable until further notice. I have rented for a month and will be vacating before the 10th of the month, according to the policy it states that if I vacate before the 10th they will pro rate my rent. They charged my card the full balance of a month of storing. I informed the employee I will be vacating and she said "oh sorry the card has been charged with no refunds or exchanges" The employee did not confirm the charge, or any details prior to charging. The storage a good and clean But the costumer service suck. I had multiple storages different time and never had a problem until I closed my account with store manager Liz D. I took all my stuff out on Sunday which the office is closed. I forgot to call on Monday and was charged 11$ for another day because i got too busy and forgot to call. They said that if I didn't pay it would go to collections. Really for 11$ and I forgot to call. Liz D was not helpful don't go to here go to the store owner way helpful than Liz D. read more

I was looking for a storage place and saw this place so I just walked in. The attendant, Joyce was very nice. She showed us a couple of units. The special she offered us was the best price I'd seen for that size unit. We signed the papers and we were able to reserve their free moving truck for the next day. They had the truck ready for us in the morning and we had it from 9 am to 4 pm and the only charge was $20 for insurance. We made two trips and we were able to get everything into our unit. So far everything has gone great. I will post an update if anything changes. read more
