Filthy dirty units, property isn't kept up, insects in sticky traps up and down the halls, rat shit inside the unit i first got inside, outside unit I got after was super dirty, I asked the person working to please sweep it out and she just left the broom inside the unit and did nothing, the lights don't work in the unit and outside lighting is terrible, just met the manager who lives onsite and leaves her vehicles parked in the red zone 24/7 if I could leave my car parked to take my service animal to the park around the corner for thirty mins and she told me no! And then went on to tell me that scooters and bicycles aren't allowed on the property, it says online that this facility has climate control it's an absolute lie there is absolutely no climate control here. Oh and the only place a code is required is at the gate the rest of the building remains totally unlocked 24/7. There is no accessible restroom either. read more

Since NSA bought them everything has gone downhill. They raised my rent by over 40% with zero notice (even though the county prohibits doing so). I will report them to the county for enforcement. They told me they cancelled my insurance without notifying me, then, when I asked for a credit, they claimed that they did not cancel it. They randomly stopped sending me statements. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone who can help. Found rat droppings in and around my unit. Avoid at all costs. Seriously - you will regret using them. read more

Be careful-this place looks and sounds great! They lure you with low move in rates- $29 and they give you a truck to use for free!!!! Monthly rates are slashed 20% off........ BUT....they never tell you that they can raise the rate whenever and by however much they want! The sales person claims ignorance when I asked how often the rates are typically raised, and by how much. I asked if she could give me the most recent examples.....she just said "it varies according to the unit and we never know because it comes down from management and we are month to month, no lock in rates". Not going to schlepp all my stuff to Duarte then get rates hiked up every couple months....NO THANK YOU StorAmerica. That is a sketchy way to do business. read more

Dont store anything of value at this location. I recently had my storage unit broken into. The slide latch mechanisms are very thin and can easily be cut into. The thieves simply cut around the lock. The worst part is that that StorAmerica has been useless in helping me. They have security cameras outside the location , but will not review the security footage, why even bother to have cameras if you are not going to review the cameras . Unfortunately during this Coronavirus lockdown the Irwindale police has not done anything either such as request security footage or take fingerprints. She was super friendly & walked us through the entire process (all while maintaining appropriate social distancing). So this weekend, i needed to go look in my storage to find some important papers.I was in hurry so i didn't notice it at first. As i was moving boxes and looking through bags, i notice little hard pieces of "something" falling onto the floor. When i turned on my phone light to inspect, sure enough they were rat turds. As i panned across my stuff i noticed that were every where!!!! I immediately got nervous and grossed out and just left. Now the rats own a whole storage locker full of stuff. This place is too expensive. Rent is now $104 and I remember I started off paying $56 like 6 years ago. ON TOP OF THAT, there are rats everywhere! Great promotional starter deals but, beware!!! your rent will increase exponentially if you're there for any length of time. Mine is currently up to $200 a month now. So, it's great if you only intent to rent a space short term. I will agree that the staff has always been very courteous and cordial. I will say I did have an issue about two years after I moved my stuff in, some items were stolen from my storage. I never did receive any kind of compensation even though I had insurance and I was never allowed to view any of video footage to see who the thief was. have a feeling it was an inside job. however, those people have long gone and no longer work for this Company. They claimed I probably left my door unlocked however, the last time I visited my storage, I had three people with me and they all claimed to of seen me double check the lock prior to leaving. Since then everything's been safe and secure. Funny thing was it was a $500 cricket machine.. still in the box they left the box and just took the machine everything else in the unit was left intact. read more

We went there last week to check the location and facility. The manager took us in the golf cart to the available one that we wanted to see how big it was. He opened the door for us to check. We were rally happy with the promotional price too. So we immediately rented it even though we were not in the rush to get one yet. The manager was very patient. Came in to this place today after seeing a 25% discount when checking in through Yelp. I showed them the discount and the lady behind the counter said she couldn't honor the discount because I wasn't a "new customer". I told her the discount was for packing supplies and that it was my first time there, so that made ma anew customer. She said she has never heard about the discount. She then said she would give me the discount, and I, of course, believed her. After I left, I looked at my receipt and noticed that she didn't give me the discount. It's not about the $2 it would've saved me, it's about honoring the advertising your business puts in the Yelp app. Here is the picture to prove it.... This property is priced at 50-70% higher than other properties nearby. Price increases are frequent and STEEP. Their fee schedule is predatory, and if you have multiple units, they run identical auto-pay charges at the same time, resulting in your credit card being locked up, due to suspicions of fraud. They then charge you $55.60 in fees, PER UNIT, because of late payments. I pay for climate-controlled units, and multiple times I have gone in, and the A/C has not worked properly. (I have photo and video of this.) I was stuck in a non-working elevator for over an hour, and the emergency phone also did not work. (I also have photo and video of this.) Liz, the current property manager is pleasant, and helpful, although limited in scope of what she's able to do to help. The district manager, for this property, however, is crass, unaccommodating, irritable, and vile, if you need to speak to her. I would not recommend this property to anyone, and will be moving to a new property, as soon as humanly possible. read more

I went here instead of public storage that's like two buildings down because this place looked nice and clean but I was wrong. On top of that their rent goes up constantly. I'm selling my house and needed storage. Came to Duarte and right away as I walked in I was surprised to see an elaborate Halloween set up in the office. I was quickly greeted by Monica and Daniel. I explained what I needed and Monica gave me a tour of the facility. Very clean and a lot of information given. Came back to the office to sign up for the space. Daniel also gave me storage tips. A lot better then Public Storage down the street. Cleaner, newer, more secure. The manager was very nice. I arrived during her lunch but she happily stopped what she was doing to help me. The office did not close for lunch. I told her I was unhappy that I just rented with PS down the street and I asked what she had available and for how much. She quickly offered to match the price I was paying at PS for the same size unit and texted the owner for the OKAY. It was a done deal in 30 minutes. What I like is they have 3 huge carts that you can use. Though 2 are kept locked so you will have to get the key, which is why I put only 4 stars, but 1 is always available and unlocked. They have steel walls in my unit anyway. Security cameras all over the place. Air conditioning. Cement floors which make heavy carts much easier to roll. read more

I don't know why anyone would choose any other storage place in Duarte over StorAmerica. It's easily the newest, cleanest facility around. Prices are cheaper than the other surrounding storage places. There are free dollies for loading up your unit, and a moving box truck to use FOR FREE when you're ready to move your stuff out. And if that wasn't enough to sway you, head over for a looksie and you'll be greeted by Judy - hand's down the nicest, friendliest person you'll ever meet. Loved my experience with StorAmerica. I was renting at Mt. Olive Storage for 13 months and that experience wasn't great. I called Joyce at StorAmerica and in 3 hours I was moved. I give Joyce and StorAmerica an A+ for customer service. The place is clean, they have carts you can use, there's an elevator, and I was even offered water on that hot day. Have been a customer since 2010. Never missed a month's payment but have been late a couple of times thru the years. Started billing me penalties and kept adding and adding to my bill despite my appeals and protests. Finally settled the the problem in June but was told to leave (very unplesant process leaves you no choice and treat you like dirt) paid and extra month and had to leave on short notice. Now not only are they billing me for the month of June but also July and August and adding penalties to the bill when I am no longer there. I even have a letter from the office manager that my bill has been fully settled and I owe no money. I am now in a different storage place. If you have a choice do not every use Storamerica. We've had a storage unit here for 2 years now and couldn't be happier with the facility and service provided by the staff. The property and hallways are always clean and tidy. It is very easy to get in and out of the gates. By far the shining star of this facility is Judy Woodmancy. I have only seen her and talked on the phone with her a handful of times but every encounter we have she is the most friendly, up-beat, positive and helpful person. She makes my visits always so pleasurable. Highly recommend this facility as it's a very rare find to have a clean storage unit and fabulous staff. read more
