I had been avoiding taking my 90-lb German Shepherd, Charlie, to the vet due to a bad experience at an overpriced clinic in Burlington (name withheld due to the poor review). Because of that, I was nervous about finding a new vet--especially since Charlie isn't exactly friendly with humans outside of his family. That changed when we visited Dr. Tonia and her team at Sedro-Woolley Veterinary Clinic. From the moment we arrived, they made both Charlie and me feel at ease. Dr. Tonia completed his check-up, provided flea medication, updated his shots, and even clipped his nails--all while showing complete confidence in her skills and her team's ability to handle him. Most importantly, there was no judgment or shaming toward either of us, just genuine care and professionalism. The cost was about half of what I had been quoted at the Burlington clinic that will remain nameless (if you live in the valley, you probably know which one I mean). I will absolutely be recommending Sedro-Woolley Veterinary Clinic to anyone in need of veterinary services. The absolute horror of the vet tech who answers the phone in the morning is horrible! She will talk over you, yell at you, hang up on you and then use the "I won't be talked to like this!" It's actually laughable how upset she gets when you are calling about your pet and it has nothing to do with her but she makes it about her! I was calling regarding my 18 year old dogs medication refill and was told numerous excuses why it's taken 7 days to even be reviewed. My pets have all suffered due to the new owners and the unneeded medications (what finally worked for my Doxie was a $30 amazon ear drops after $600 spent by Dr Wood ) it's all about prescriptions! If this vet tech is this awful to humans I think I would never ever trust her with my pets! Be wary The front desk gals are incredible and I will miss them! Dr. Wood, the new owner is wonderful and patient. I had so many questions about the right path for our husky and needed to take cost into account. She understood and didn't make me feel like a negligent pet owner about putting off some things that could truly wait for him because of the cost. For those that are unaware: Sedro-Woolley Vet Clinic has a new owner. Last week all my fuzzy kids met her, two dogs, Nova and Luna, and the cat Princesses. They gave her 4 paws up (the dogs, two each) Princess gave her a purr-fect score, which is rare for her. I found her to be kind, very knowledgeable and she had some of the best recommended approaches we've received yet regarding a couple of long terms issues with two of our Fuzz-ones. read more

Update to my previous review: I have read the review from other people, THEY ARE ALL TRUE! DONT BRING YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM! MY DOG IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING SURGERY ON HER EAR DUE TO HER BODY SHUTTING DOWN FROM THIS MAN OVERDOSING HER WITH A STEROID INJECTION! Dr. Campbell is not the vet we all once remembered!!!!!! This clinic has definitely taken a huge turn since I was a kid. My parents used to take our animals here, and dr.Campbell was wonderful. Recently, we have had so many issues with this vet clinic. Be prepared to sit on the floor waiting with 15 other dogs for an hour plus to be seen. And if another vet office asks for records, be prepared for them to not deliver. New owners charged FIFTY-yes $50-dollars for doggy NAIL TRIM (took 3 'easy' minutes per tech-who also clipped nails too short/gave my dog sore feet in the quick fleecing $$$$$) Last owner charged $15.. All other vets/standard price same area-$20. Told SWV 'charge by dog weight' now (when I questioned excessive fee(s)-Ridiculous!! New vet and big pierced lady at desk both cold & rude, no empathy. I took my cat to this vet due to their "good" prices, to get spayed. I read mixed reviews on them, but had heard good things from friends. When picking up my cat after the surgery, I was told they were charging me extra due to the cat being pregnant. A strictly indoor cat, that hasn't been around a male cat in over two years. Then it turned into them telling me they were charging for terminating a pregnancy because she was supposedly in heat. Also, they didn't send home any pain medication for my cat. Not impressed, won't be a repeat customer for sure. read more

It's hard to imagine this man ever cared enough about animals to get a license to treat them but those days are far behind him now. "Dr." Campbell was rude, dismissive, irresponsible, irrational, accusatory, incompetent, demeaning, unprofessional, volatile, thoughtless, and disrespectful. I have NEVER experienced someone who supposedly cares for animals be so void of compassion or care. I feel forced to give him one star because there are no other options available. I will forever carry tremendous guilt that I didn't do my due diligence to read the reviews already posted about this establishment before bringing my dog here. If I had my dog would might be well today. I can't imagine he treats all of his patients in the manner I experienced or he would be out of business. I have since read that he is racist, if this is true my experience would stand true to form; but whatever the reason, he is a sorry excuse for a Doctor and frightening example of an individual who misuses their power. I am writing this review on behalf of my good friend who was unfortunate enough to use Sedro-Woolley Veterinary Clinic located at 207 Carter St. in SW on 12/29/2023, to have her beloved cat euthanized. I was absolutely horrified when she told me how much more punishing this clinic made an already dreadful circumstance. Within the last month I myself had to put my senior cat down and was fortunate enough to be treated with the utmost care and solace at Mountain View Vet in Mount Vernon. It just baffles me that only one town away she had to undergo the death of her fur baby with zero compassion. She had a scheduled time and was kept waiting for hours past her appointment. The waiting room had dogs and other animals, so her cat was a nervous wreck inside and she ended up sitting in her car waiting, Her cat was already distraught. He had been very sick the past few days and wasn't used to being away from home. So she was left trying to comfort him to no avail, and his last hours were spent in fear and panic. She of course had to endure this on top of knowing she was saying goodbye forever. What a dreadful ending of their time together. When she was seen by the Veterinarian he was abrupt and unpleasant. Not an single word about the wait. He simply wanted to get it done as fast as possible. He was gruff and showed no compassion for her loss. She had already decided to bring the remains intact back home to bury on her wooded property near her previously departed Bengal cat. The Veterinarian said, "I have a nice box you can have to take him home in", but he brought in a medical supply box that was very far from "nice" I had to write this review just to keep myself from marching down there and unleashing a tirade of recrimination. I decided if at all possible, saving another unsuspecting person from being mistreated at this clinic would make this worth it, I read all their reviews and many were positive and encouraging. Be warned though, the reviews that were negative were so disheartening that a million good reviews could not make up the difference. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Campbell enough. He saved my dogs life and went above and beyond to make sure he made it through. I don't think there's any other vet that would have done what he did for my dog. His girls that work for him are all so caring and compassionate. A lot of Dr. Campbell's negative reviews are due to the fact that he is straightforward and honest and will tell you what is going on without sugarcoating it. Many people can't handle that type of honesty. With over 50 years of veterinary experience, I don't think there's anyone who is more knowledgeable than him. read more

After reading reviews, I felt led to tell my story. In October 2022, my dog, who had recently been diagnosed with kidney disease, suddenly reached the end. We knew it was time to end her suffering. She is traumatized every time we visit the vet, so I requested that we be allowed to keep her in our truck (her safe place), for the procedure. I was not about to make her last moments a terror. The vet we were using refused due to liability issues. Really?! So I spent several hours on the phone in tears trying to find someone who would either travel to us or allow us to keep her in the truck. Finally found this vet who was willing to do this for a non patient. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for squeezing us into his schedule and taking care of our baby our way. We have also had our cat into the office since then and have been satisfied with the care. read more

Monster..... I feel horrible for ever allowing this vet to see our dog. I've never been spoken to like this by a man in my life. He was quick to anger, yelling, pointing his finger at me, cutting me off from speaking and became furious when I questioned his care He told us stories of other pet owners not caring correctly for their pets after a procedure, pointed the finger at us for our pets healing after procedure, he yelled at us about his schooling and years in the vet field. I was there with three kids and he actually brought up my parenting three times..... His office is filled with the nicest women ever I feel terrible they have to work with this monster. This man needs his license revoked. He is monstrous, rude, over-talking, dismissive, and lacks any degree of professionalism. We took our dog to the clinic to be spayed. When we went to pick her up, Dr. Campbell called us into the back and began by going over his portfolio; his grandfather, father, brother, all vets, where he received his diploma from, etc. He then proceeded to admit that there were complications with the surgery. After stitching our dog up he reported that he noticed blood seeping out. He opened her back up cutting an even longer incision and supposedly repaired the problem. He then went over medication, advising that our dog be given 3 tablets, 3xs a day of the prescribed antibiotic. We asked at least twice and he confirmed that the instructions were 3 tablets, 3xs a day. After giving her the antibiotic for at least 3 days, we noticed that the bottle stated, 1 tablet, 3xs a day. Over the course of the 10 day healing period our dog lost 8 lbs, quit eating, began vomiting, and would hardly drink water. We brought her back in to have the stitches removed and Dr. Campbell advised that the dog "looked good" and had healed fine. He dismissed the weight loss, her refusal to eat or drink, etc. We returned to the clinic the following day. At this time, Dr. Campbell came out into the "waiting room" and began speaking loudly and arguing, over-talking, becoming angry, and denying the need for further treatment. After our dog's temperature was taken and indicated that she had a temperature he wanted to prescribe another round of antibiotics. We requested a blood test to help R/O possible medical issues. Dr. Campbell was resistant and did not see the need. Dr. Campbell told us all our dog needed was a different dog food. When I took our dog outside to go the bathroom she expelled a liquidy stool with mucous. I called one of the vet assistants to look at it and take a sample for testing. The experience was like being in a twilight zone. This man, Dr. Campbell, was disrespectful, condescending, accusatory, defensive, and unwilling to explore a diagnosis. Our appointment was at 2pm. When we arrived we were told that the doctor was in surgery and would see us when he could. We sat in the waiting room for well over 2 hours. We, have since, taken our dog to another vet and are awaiting further testing and x-rays. To be continued... read more

Took my cat here because he was drooling and seemed to have pain in his mouth. Staff was friendly and everyone there seemed like repeat customers. Dr Campbell was good with my cat and I liked that he offered down-to-earth treatment and advice. He didn't try to upsell me on fancy treatments, just cured the problem and sent us on our way! I have never in my life been treated so poorly. This vet is a monster. I have gone to this facility for the better part of a decade, seeing several different doctors during this time. Our last vet recently left this location to start his own business. When we called to make an appointment earlier this year, the receptionist had said they had changed locations. We didn't realize it was just one doctor who had moved, so when we made today's appointment, there was some confusion about who we were seeing and where. No biggie. We're not picky. So went to Sedro Woolley Vet (Dr. CAMPBELL). This man is a monster. When we pulled up, he had put an offensive sign on his marquee that I personally found ignorant. It was then we decided we were not comfortable giving money to this clinic any longer. However, our dog is not political and desperately needed to be seen for a serious issue and no other appointments were available anywhere. When I checked in, I made no mention of the sign. I did ask the receptionist to transfer today's notes to our new doctor; I was polite and didn't explain why. She was also polite - no problem. Then, when I took our dog into the room, this vet interrupted me while I was explaining our dog's ailment and raised his voice to me, saying he was "blowing the competition out of the water" and that he "wasn't gonna do the work" to see our dog if we weren't willing to continue to patron his business. I said, "I'm sorry - are you refusing to see a sick dog because we want our records transferred?" He became irate and stammered that it "must not be an emergency or we would've taken him to emergency care anyway." From then on, whenever I tried to speak, he interrupted me to raise his voice. I finally asked to speak and explained in a calm tone that there had been some confusion over which vet we were seeing and we'd prefer the other guy. I told him it was not personal and that it was not an indicator of his abilities, to which he again interrupted me to say, "Well I'm happy to hear that because that's not what you said to the gals out front," which was a bald-faced lie. I then said I felt that his marquee, denouncing critical race theory, was offensive, to which he flew off the handle and yelled further, demanding I explain it to him, because I must not know what it means. At that point, we walked out without continuing to engage. THIS MAN FOLLOWED ME INTO THE WAITING ROOM SHOUTING and causing a scene. He had worked himself up even though I had barely been allowed to speak. He yelled about how I was wrong and foolish for going elsewhere and when I continued to walk out without engaging, HE FOLLOWED ME INTO THE PARKING LOT and accosted two receptionists on break to point at me and yell further. His (suspiciously all-female staff) looked shocked and stood there dumbfounded. I feel so bad for this man's staff. He was so shockingly quick to anger. It must be a terrible environment for them. I am a woman. There is no way this elderly, white male would have ever spoken to me this way had I been a man or brought my partner with me. He slammed our file down the moment I walked in and never even glanced at our dog. It was atrocious. It was deeply unprofessional and strange. I've never in my life seen a grown man act this way, for seemingly no reason but an ego bruise. He has an obligation to treat our animal, and he outright refused saying early in our conversation (before I had even a chance to explain the records transfer request) he had already decided not to treat him. Despicable. We will be filing a complaint to the American Veterinary Medical Association as well as the BBB. DO. NOT. GO. HERE. This man needs to retire. read more

I took my dog to another vet to have her tumor looked at. That vet said they would have to amputate her leg in order to remove it. I brought her to Dr Campbell for a second opinion and he said he could remove the tumor without removing her leg and he did! The surgery went well. It's been 3 weeks and she is all healed up! Wait time is always a bit long for your scheduled appointment but like most doctors who care about their patients I find this normal. You can tell he genuinely cares about the animal!!! I never had a great experience there at all. But I decided my dog needed to be seen and took a chance on them and I brought him in to wait inside a dog came close to him and he got excited and stressed and barked and calmed down. The old guy veterinarian came out and yelled at my dog and myself and shoved us out the door and told us not to come inside until we were called for. It was 90 degrees outside he was very rude in front of all the staff and customers there. I will not let someone treat my dog if they treat us horribly. read more

I took my dog to this clinic because I had been there before when a different Dr was there. My dog was itching his belly and legs with a red rash. Dr Cambell DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY DOG ! He just perscribed a shot and some steroid pills. Which didn't work. And he charged me a huge bill.. He is rude and wouldn't listen to my concerns. ALWAYS running an hour plus past appointment time! Doc is very incompetent, I knew what was wrong with my puppy and he flat out told me i was wrong and didn't no what I was talking about. He then unwillingly did a urine and which proved I was absolutely right. He's very rude and needs to retire because he clearly doesn't know how to practice medicine anymore. This Office is amazing. The staff is very friendly, and they were able to schedule me and my Dog. I was told that my friend would need a very expensive (outrageously so) that I thought, as I couldn't afford such an expense I would have to say goodbye to my beloved 11yo dog. But I took him to Dr. Campbell and he was able to fix my doggy right up, gave him the surgery for a way more affordable price. If you love your pet, so does he. you will all be well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves their pet. read more
