SEE may good if you have an average prescription. However, if you have a strong scrip (I am around -8 in each eye) you need smaller frames and high quality lenses so they aren't too thick. They simply don't have a good selection that suits this need and I don't think the staff really understands that for some people you need to think about more than style,m. You need to think about what works best with a high prescription. Also, the lenses are not high enough quality for strong prescriptions. Even their thinner lenses were too thick so my glasses kept falling down my nose. So SEE is fine for weaker scrips, but go elsewhere if you're as blind as me. read more

I don't like the staff here. They don't bother to greet me when I enter the store, which wouldn't be a big deal if I was just grabbing some clothes off a rack at a clothing store. But this is an eyewear store! Of course I'm going to have questions. I always have to approach the staff, and even then they are very evasive. They seem to be very friendly with the folks with designer handbags, though. One time I tried to approach one of the staff, but she sprayed me with Windex. The mirror she was cleaning was two feet away. I'd go to the Birmingham or Rochester stores instead. Yes they're definitely not on the cheap side. But I'd say they're reasonably priced. all their frames are well designed and well made, in italy. I've always liked things that don't have an obvious logo, so those prada frames were never my thing. I came in here just to browse. But I found a couple cute frames and started trying them on. Then I ended up with my eyes examined and got fitted for a new pair of glasses. their staff are friendly and not annoying. It's definitely a lovely store. Do not come here and expect to find exceptionally great deals. none of the stuff are on that much of a sale. but then again if you have to wear glasses then coming here is the right choice. they will make sure you wear glasses in great style. read more

I am very disappointed with SEE. I usually purchase my eyewear from Zenni, but I decided to purchase a pair of glasses from SEE because I wanted a beautiful, quality pair of glasses. I did not get that with SEE. First, the lenses are inconsistent. I cannot see as well looking in different directions. Also, the lenses, despite a pricey coating, have small scratches in them. I have barely worn them. And this NEVER happened with my glasses from Zenni until years later and a lot of wear and tear. Both times I've called about the problems listed above and both times I got a rude tone from the person taking my call. That kind of service does not make me want to go in to have my lenses looked at. I will say that the salespeople who sold me the lenses were nice. SEE claims to offer a quality product for a fair price, but I've had much cheaper lenses hold up better. read more

Warning: Don't do what I did. I bought glasses from here but I should not have. Sheila helped me and she had a lot of patience and she was kind. I asked her the price of the glasses and what I had to pay she quoted me $369 (my cousin was on the phone, and I was discussing the price with her as she was helping me pick). The size of the store is deceiving because I never knew they offered eye exams at this location. I just left from getting my eye exam and when I stepped out from the room, Natalie had a spread of frames waiting for me to try on. She spent quite a bit of time with me exclusively as we narrowed down from all the options. I'm glad I gave her creative freedom because she had me trying on all different materials, colors and shapes that I otherwise might not have tried on. I decided on the last pair of a teal ombré colored cat eye frame and I'm excited to get them back! My exam was thorough and we discussed in detail my family history, which left me feeling confident in both the health of my eyes and the knowledge of the doctor. I really loved the selection, especially because glasses are a very current statement piece right now. read more

LOVE this place! The frames are fabulous but that goes without saying; that's their thing. They're not cheap but very reasonable considering the product they offer, very trendy stuff for hipsters. The staff is terrific. They really know their stock and are very good at helping customers select frames they will be happy with. The optometrist is also very good. I used to be partial to the Rochester location... I bought 3 pairs from there before. However, I moved and this location is closer for me. I just purchased a new pair of eyeglasses and sunglasses from this location and will be back for more. Theresa was the perfect saleswoman and offered sound advice as I tried on probably over 50 pairs of glasses. Lo and behold I went with the first pair she had me try on. I appreciated her honesty... I find that the workers at all of the locations I have been to are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, hip. I tell all of my friends to purchase their specs here and was more than satisfied with this time around, as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of frames, though they do trend towards what's in style for the season. Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Yee who was very helpful and thorough during my eye exam. Also, the store had a special running today - an eye exam for $29 (amazing price)! I also ended up buying two glasses with about 40% in savings from a coupon + opening a charge card (no interest for 6 months). Feel free to come here if you feel like being scammed. I came for an eye exam as I knew my prescription for my eyeglasses had changed. The optometrist was unclear during the exam so I had to ask for clarification throughout the whole thing. This was frustrating. Once they finished, they told me my prescription hadn't changed and that they needed to add blue lenses. I couldn't have been more clear that I was certain my script needed updating but they were adamant that it hadn't budged and that these blue lenses would solve my problem. They charged me over $300 for this. They tried so hard to then get me to buy a new pair of frames. The sales associate couldn't have possibly been more pushy even though I made it clear I like my frames. I must have blacked out because I can't believe I actually let them run my card. I ending up doing some research and gathered that these blue lenses are a sales pitch and can actually cause more problems. I immediately called and asked for a refund, which they did except for the eye exam itself. After a couple of weeks, I decided something still wasn't right and I needed to see a real ophthalmologist. Sure enough, my prescription has changed. The doctor I saw did a thorough exam, didn't try to push any other sales crap on me, fit my current frames with my new prescription in 1.5 days, and even gave me a discount. I reached out to SEE to express my disappointment hoping they would do the right thing and refund me for their mistake but I was denied as it's a service. I feel like I truly got scammed. Not only will I never frequent any of their locations but I will also be warning everyone I know that this place just wants to steal your money. Meghan who helped us originally was a fine salesperson. Not pushy. We really enjoyed our eye exam. However, they told us our glasses would come in 7-10 business days. I showed up at the store on day 10 and they were not in, my husbands were. They then told me that they had been closed Good Friday so that didn't count. They would be in tomorrow. I said I can't drive back another 45 min to pick up my glasses. Meghan said she would ship them overnight the next day. That did not happen as I did not receive them for another two days. I asked to have the manager call me. She however did not. Someone on behalf of the manager at 4:15 pm the next day called and was quite belligerent towards me. All I want is someone to treat me respect. I can't see properly out of the ones that were sent and now I will be going to another store for help. This was an awful experience at such a high price. First of all let me preface by saying that I have worn glasses for over 40yrs so I know what I'm talking about . I purchased two pairs , one regular and one sunglasses , from this store without the need of an eye exam (I already have a prescription) and my total bill was almost $500 . The price on said glasses was $99 and $159 "complete" So ???? But I really liked the frames so I let them talk me into a credit card to purchase them . Ok so I pick up the glasses and have them "adjusted" and both were bowed on the sides so I want back the same day to have them fixed and the girl (with bleached blond hair) was such a B**h shoves my glasses at me and says the sides are like that because of the large frame ???? All of my frames are over sized ! And none of the arms bow out . She was so rude and unprofessional giving me , the customer , attitude . I asked to talk to the manager , Andrea is her name , and she fixed them . I buy at least 20 pairs of glasses a year but I will NEVER go to another SEE store again !!!!!!! read more

The way this story ends it should be 6 stars but alas I do have to settle on 4 because of how we got to my happy ending. I will skip the details and share the highlights. Bought first pair of SEE glasses- at the time my sales person was awesome. Charles was upbeat, encouraging and persuasive and I bought it all including the frame I was uncertain about. Fast forward I start wearing said frame and the compliments are non-stop! Go to Chicago, hang out at a dance club pretty late and can't find frame come Sunday morning. Insert panic!!!! Call SEE and Natalie, having lived and worked at SEE Water Tower knows the club and understands how it happened. She sends a email to all possible stores with my frame for replacement and life goes on. I call 1 time asking for Charles, figured we had a relationship of some kind- me potential loyal customer, him wage earning salesman. He called back- no help says he will call the potential stores and "call me back by close of business". Guess he means when they go "out of business" because I am still waiting on that call. Next day call get promises no action. Take matters into my own hands- call random stores- find similar frame. Call back tell Troy please get frame from LA.Get call back eureka we actually found the frame inLA!!! ????? Really YOU DID? But wait it says its a different color but no its really your color. Prayers answered!. No there's more. Pay for frame over the phone and wait. After 5 days call to check on them. In lab no problem per Matt. Wait get call back not in lab because there are 2 colors to chose from- thought I was pretty clear what I wanted- oh but neither color is MINE..... Sad trombone. Go see the colors too sad to like either get refund and walk away... Funny no one tried to sell me anything else- even good ol' Charles who was a there but didn't help me and wasn't much interested. Cut to the chase this part is SUPER DUPER AWESOME!!!!! Late evening I go on website and there is a cleaver link to email "The Big Boss" so I do. Not a few hours later the BIG BOSS himself emails back puts his best guy on the job. ANDREW!!!! IN less than 24 hours a creative plan is executed and I have frame with prescription lenses in my hands!!!! While the employees dropped many balls and no one wanted to "own" my case. I cannot say enough about an engaged owner and management that cares so much about their brand that they were willing to go that extra inch. I would feel the same way if they had struck out. In the past I have had nothing but great service here. I had always used the Groupon deal to buy prescription sunglasses and regular glasses every year and on my last visit I was informed that I could not use my Groupon to buy prescription sunglasses any longer. I checked the Groupon deal and did not see this listed. I do not live near See so this was disappointing to find out after arriving. See is not a primary provider for my vision insurance so without being able to use the Groupon, I most likely will not return, which is sad. For some reason on the Groupon app it no longer allows you to view the "fine print" so maybe it is hidden in there. Overall, they have a great staff and selection of glasses. read more

The staff, first and foremost, is extremely talented at helping you make a good choice of frames for your face, they are never snooty and make you feel special and you almost enjoy dishing out loot for your investment in eyewear.
