I originally came here to try the blueberry cobbler cappuccino, but they were sold out, so I ordered an iced honey cinnamon latte instead. The latte was good, and I'll definitely be back to try that specialty cappuccino. I also ventured out front to Huey Sandwich Shop, a food truck set up on a bed of turf with plenty of seating and a covered awning. Such a cute space! I, however, was anything but cute while eating my sandwich I don't want to speak too soon since this place is still new, but the hot Italian sandwich might be the best sandwich I've had in the Birmingham area so far. The bread, sautéed onions and peppers, and whatever sauce they put on it took it completely over the top. I also love that they're open for Saturday lunch! It's a great spot and booming with local residents. Everytime we go there's a range of people including tons of kiddos. I like that there's inside and outside seating depending on your vibe. Be prepared to sit in either because they do get busy especially Saturday mornings (we stood in quite the line). The food is good. If I could do a 4.5 star I would simply because there was hair in our burrito, but that's on us for not mentioning it to management. This is consistently some of the best coffee in Birmingham! We come here weekly. House made syrups, quality food that is actually hand prepared (not just heat up coffee shop food), and a cool atmosphere. I didn't expect this place to be so busy, but there's a reason why. I ordered a single origin coffee that happened to be Ethiopian. Absolutely amazing and that was just the drip coffee. I can only imagine what especially coffee would taste like there. Normally, I don't eat breakfast this early but today the avocado toast with everything sounded great and it didn't disappoint. The indoor seating seemed comfortable, but I chose to go outside. Thankfully, the weather was pleasant and there was plenty of shade. The place looks cool, I'm guessing an old converted gas station and has a fun area outside to sit and visit. We were stopping for coffee on the way out of town on a road trip, so we just took it to go. My husband got the Costa Rica single origin black coffee and said it was good, unfortunately I can't say the same for mine. I ordered the blueberry cappuccino- which came in the tiniest cup, but once we were in the car and on our way, I took a drink and the milk tasted curdled- I couldn't even drink it. It was a real bummer for a tiny $7 coffee but live and learn- try it before you leave; although a new one would have been made with the same milk. I wanted to be excited about this place, but the staff weren't exuding friendliness and the curdled coffee- it just wasn't for me. read more

Kept seeing this coffee shop at the farmer's market and wanted to finally try them. I ordered a basic oat milk latte because I was quite unsure what I wanted that day lol and because I didn't really want any food I also didn't want to have 2 sweet treats. The latte was smooth and the art was beautiful as you can see. It got a bit too noisy in there after a while though, but the inside was cozy with multiple tables to sit at plus outdoor seating. Amazing outdoor working space. Open air, comfortable seating, spacious tabletops. Perfect for working on a beautiful day! I had the honey cinnamon iced latte from the seasonal menu. Loved it! Not overly sweet or milky. Perfect for a mid-morning brew. I also tried the orange cranberry scone. Not the most amazing pastry I've ever had, but certainly did its job. Seeds offers some more fleshed-out breakfast plates, too! You could totally eat a hearty breakfast here with the eggs plates. They sell their own beans and some other home-brewing merchandise. Definitely worth checking out and keeping it local. This place gets busy! The parking lot fills up fast, but there's usualllyyyyy a spot to be found. There are a ton of employees!! And they're needed! The entire time I was there, there was somebody at the counter ordering. Most all of the tables were full on a Tuesday. There is a co-working space next door so I wonder if some of that overflow leaks into Seeds. This section of Homewood is developing into a wonderful community! Probably my favorite coffee shop in all of Birmingham, this spot in Homewood never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, the space feels clean, bright, and welcoming. Even when the line is out the door, the service is efficient and genuinely kind. You can tell the baristas care about what they're doing, they weigh their coffee grounds precisely, time each espresso shot, and pay attention to every detail to make sure each drink comes out smooth and rich. They also offer alternative milks, which I really appreciate. The food is just as impressive. Nothing feels overly greasy, and everything tastes fresh. The biscuits are a customer favorite, but I personally love the eggs, sausage, toast, and fruit. The honey butter is especially outstanding and adds the perfect touch. One of the coolest parts is that it used to be a gas station, and the old pump area has been transformed into a covered patio with couches, perfect for relaxing and catching up with friends. I would easily give this place 5/5 stars and highly recommend it! read more

It's no secret that Seeds makes great coffee. From their cortados to their pourovers everything is always fantastic. It can get really packed in Seeds, but make sure to stay in line because even when it's busy they still manage to offer good customer service and a tasty beverage or food. The coffee itself is top tier. Their roasting operations really know what they're doing and they offer some unique single origin offerings. I suggest getting a bag to go, and trying one on drip or pourover. The space itself has a "community" feel and is a perfect spot for meetups. The staff is always welcoming and helpful and makes you feel right at home. Lastly, the food is seriously delicious. Everything is made from scratch such as the scones or biscuits. It was peaceful. I placed my order at the counter with a nice lady. I couldn't resist not getting that beautiful chocolate chip cookie that was on display. It's like this cookie was smiling at me and only ME!!! Needless to say, the cookie was amazing and went VERY well with my drink. The Cortado here did not disappoint! Seeds has such a chill vibe...I love it! You can pull up a chair inside or kickback outside at one of the tables or benches, which is my fav. I'm a tea girly, so I appreciate the different seasonal options they have available and enjoyed the green peach tea during this visit. They have WiFi signs sprinkled all around, which is convenient for remote workers. I'm also a fan of the outdoor outlets because their patio is my happy place there. Blue is one of my fav colors so the decor is bomb to me. Then, to my surprise, a food truk pulled up! So I settled right on in for lunch as well. The tables are pretty small but otherwise, it is a great place for individual work or catching up with a friend. They were out of potatoes towards the end of their brunch rush, so we recommend ordering food earlier rather than later. Food: For food, we ordered the El Jefe and Avocado Toast with sriracha honey. We got the El Jefe with pastrami, a fried egg, and provolone cheese. It was tangy from the spicy mayo and overall was flavorful, and came with a side of avocado, which was a nice addition. The best part of the Avocado Toast was the sriracha honey, which paired well with the fresh avocado. We enjoyed our breakfast with a Drip Coffee and Hot Vanilla Latte. The Drip Coffee was hot, bold, and pretty good for a batch-style coffee. The Hot Vanilla Latte wasn't too sweet, which we appreciated! Wow, I love everything about this coffee shop! My daughter and I visited the shop because we had a gift card to use. The iced mocha and iced honey cinnamon/macadamia milk latte were so delicious, I had to make a return visit the very next afternoon! This time, in addition to the homey cinnamon latte, I had a cherry & rosemary scone. The scone was perfectly baked and the flavor combination really worked well together, making it my new favorite pastry from a coffee shop. I should have asked who does their baking. Another reason why I love this place is their music selection. Interesting music that's not too loud, not annoying, just perfect for me to enjoy. Lots of people agree with me as evidenced by the number of customers there working solo, meeting with long-times friends, as well as what appears to be first dates.
