Nice and friendly employees but was not offered a "free" sample as all other See's stores

Stopping at this mall many times for several years, I frequent a number of stores here. There is sports memorabilia store a few doors north, a bakery that switched brands recently, and a noodle and dumpling restaurant on the other side of the car entrance that passes this store. A friend asked me to get a list of candies for her and, instead of going to the main one in SSF, I happened to be here for lunch on a recent Thursday. It was perfect as I was intending to stop at the main store in SSF so it saved me a side trip there. Getting here a little before 11 am, I was the only customer until a lady walked in to ask for sample. The gal at the counter explained the box sizes to me as I read my friend's list to her. As mentioned in my review about the main store, I actually frequented the outlet store on Airport Blvd. before it closed. Size wise, this one is much smaller but it pretty much has everything you'll find there. Thanks to the patient and helpful Julie who helped me through my visit. She even guided me through their buyers' card program and helped me learn that I earned a tote bag if I have a $40 purchase. What great service in today's visit from Dylan V.(5/23/26@6:40pm)! The lone associate was so helpful, friendly and greeted me warmly when I entered the store! I was so happy to receive the signature See's customer service. It's my favorite chocolate. And yes, I was offered a sample of my choice. She assured me that my concern was heard and taken care of, and I'm happy to say that I will proudly continue to support See's. Place has been here forever and it looks just like any other See's Candies you'll go to. This one is small, but it has all the same things you'd find in a bigger store. Parking outside is easy. Sometimes they give out extra samples. Convenience place to pick up chocolate gifts in a pinch. read more

Great variety and selection - this location is close to the HQ or main manufacturing plant - so its no surprise. Candies seemed unusually fresh and they had great selection compared to other stores across they bay. Apricot and a few other varieties were not available due to covid and some sort of constraint. Was good to see them available once again. Free samples came in a plastic bag - everybody all of a sudden is a germ freak. Parking lot was huge as this is in the strip mall. Was aiming to go to the main bigger place down the road that has the same street name as part of the address. Not sure if that is open at all during these times but am eager to one day visit. read more

Love See's Candies. The blueberry truffles are my special treat to myself with the lemon truffles a close second. This location is a little smaller than some other locations but they have all my favorites. And the guy helping us offered us a free sample of anything we wanted, so I decided to try their pumpkin truffle - delicious, like eating a mini pumpkin pie. read more

This store is a little gem and the ladies that work here are a testament to great customer service . came in prior to Father's Day weekend. One sweet lady temporarily , running the counter and holding down the show , greeted everyone as they entered and juggle us all with TLC as we waited for our turn . One other coworker was encouraged to take her whole lunch . ! Everyone was patient and appreciative for the good energy and service. Thank you again. I'm a fan of See's Candies. So whenever I'm in this area, I try to stop by one for some goodies. My favorites are the Scotch Kiss, Peanut Brittle, and Pecan Buds. Mmm... The staff here are friendly and efficient. They do have the safety protocols implemented which is good. I love how they give some extra goodies with every purchase so that customers can try other things. Kudos! I can't wait to visit a See's Candies again soon whenever I go out again. :) read more

*Review of service by a specific curly haired/pink masked wearing server/attendant*. NOT a review of the place nor the quality of the product nor the other servers/attendants at this place! I received a So-So service at this location. This specific attendant does not seem to be enjoying her work. First off, she was not friendly and accommodating at all and given that it is Valentine's Day shopping, you would think she would be a little friendly and into the spirit, NO, grumpy and even missed me completely when I was even next in Line. And even mentioned that the heart boxes were an extra charge, I don't care, if it is for my mom and my husband, it is worth any price. You should be more customer focused and friendly since you are selling chocolates!!! The other attendants were happily offering their customers a taste of their chocolate of choice but this specific server pointed me to the attendant that was offering brittle and Bordeaux only. The woman working behind the counter was really friendly, while I was trying to figure out which box of chocolate to get my wife. As I looked over the candy, she offered me a piece. How could I say no to that? She was really nice and helpful. I finally picked my box for my wife and a little walnut Carmel candy bar for myself. She also gave me a small sample of a new candy they are now selling. I think it had some kind of coffee in it but the wrappers are long gone and there is no evidence of it around. I must have liked it!!! This location is nice and has plenty of parking. I was able to get in and out quickly plus a few free samples make everything much better. On my next trip I can get a box of just the candies my wife likes. Apparently she likes the marshmallow covered in chocolate. Of course, she ate it without showing me a visual. I am not worried because I know when I come here they will hook me up with the right one. read more

What better way to break up the monotony of a cold workday than a quick drive over to my local See's Candies shop! Aside from the fact that you can literally smell chocolate the minute you step out of your car in this shopping plaza, you can find yourself in sensation overload the minute you open the door here. I'm not sure if this is only for the holiday season (cuz I've never been approached at any other See's location), but within minutes from entering the store, I was approached by a lovely lady donned in the traditional white dress - "Would you like a dark chocolate with caramel sample?" Um, how 'bout 5 samples!? I wonder if they'd provide me with a sample if I visited at least once a day? Twice a day, maybe... OK, so the store is pretty small and cramp, but they've still got the usual selection, along with the excellent customer service. And anything with a candy counter can't be that bad - ever. While I've never said no to a free sample, my all-time favorite is the Almond Royal... just thinking about it makes me feel 10 lbs. heavier. I'm no chocolate snob, so I'll take Scharffen Berger, Godiva, Ghirardelli, and Goobers, as well as See's Candies any day !!! read more

Five stars for See's! I love See's. Grandma always had a box of See's around. I'm only a moderate chocolate snob -- I can't stand cheap chocolate (Whitman's Sampler holds zero appeal) -- but See's is all I need. The chocolate smell in this particular shopping plaza, by the way, mostly comes from the nearby Guittard chocolate factory. Guittard, located in unassuming Burlingame, happens to make nearly all the chocolate for See's Candies nationwide. I worked for See's during one Christmas season, mainly to soak up See's culture, eat as much free chocolate as I wanted during break, and learn how to identify the different varieties by sight. So I speak from authority when I say that it is See's policy to offer a free sample to every shopper who enters the store. (The policy specifically prohibits giving candy to non-shoppers, such as the UPS delivery person, however -- go figure.) During the Christmas season they assign a whole person to stand in front and hand out samples. During the rest of the year you have to get your sample at the counter. read more

Let's just say this store 12 yrs ago was the best sees candies to shop at. But then they got rid of there good employees. And the store went to crap especially with Stephanie Harvey became the manager not only is she rude and rolls her eyes up at you when your asking her questions. But she is an unhappy person. I got totally dissed by the little old chocolate lady at this location. She offered me a free chocolate, I gladly accepted and then remarked how I wanted to get a job at See's Candies just so I could eat free chocolate all day long. The lady told me I wouldn't be able to fit out the door! I retorted with "I'll bankrupt this motherf**er". Ok, I didn't really cuss at the sweet old lady. read more

If you must visit this See's store, avoid the nasty, large man who works there. He was so rude and condescending to me, I could not deal with him and decided not to make a purchase, even after waiting in a long line. I heart sees candies, and this store in particular. The counter persons are super nice and friendly, and their uniforms are a slice of americana. I have been to other Sees candy stores, and while the staff is generally nice, the service provided by the staff at this store is by far the best service I have received! I usually go to the mall since the store is open longer there and I get off work late often, but I plan to to buy my Sees candies from this spot whenever I can. Now everyone has their own favorite flavors, and their reasons for liking it. Mine are: scotchmallow, marzipan, peanut brittle, dark molasses chip, and p-nut crunch. Fast forward twenty-five years, and you will see me here in my white uniform behind the counter, supplementing my meager Social Security checks with part-time employment, generously spreading the smiles and the chocolate, before taking SamTrans back to my 1 BD condo, walking distance from shopping and the library, of course; awaiting the phone call from my daughter, long since grown and now needing advice on child-rearing herself (which she will ignore). You know exactly what to expect in each store - the wonderful chocolate aroma as you walk in, the bright and clean store, the nicely stacked boxes, the friendly ladies who always offer you a piece of chocolate... How can you rate less than 5 stars to a place that always offers samples?!?!? Seriously the candy is delicious, high quality and always fresh tasting and staff always pleasant. Its a little smaller than your average Sees but they seem to have everything there. Highly recommended. read more

Had a wonderful experience last weekend. I was buying five boxes of 1lb candies for family friends in Hong Kong. I did not like the boxes they had pre packed as I wanted a few more nut candies. Kathleen helped me and was so patient and kind she asked me if I wanted to customize each box! Wow! She spent 30 minutes with me allowing me to pick each candy I wanted. She is so friendly and I really appreciated her patience. I'll visit again soon! read more

Ok of course any candy shop is going to get high stars from me, but this place is great. I always get greeted happily when entering and the staff is very friendly. I have been when it is full of customers and when just a few. I love how they helped my niece and made her feel she was not being talked down to but as a customer. They offered free samples and talked with her about working there...when she is older, she is just 10. It is nice to have small stores to shop in and get personal service. read more
