Dear Sees, Please teach common decency and humanity to the humiliating and rude person you call an employee here by the name of Nell C. My mom, who has a bit of an accent was humiliated by this entity when she was clearly perturbed by my mom's accent. She feigned not understanding her several times causing my mom to repeat herself several times and each repetition Nell C. Acted more annoyed at my mom. She then proceeded to effectuate a farce of customer service to the point of condescension. She never offered us our sample and I had to ask for it. Retaliate much? Love this See's location! Super clean, friendly staff who always give free samples! If you're looking for a non-chocolate option, the California crunch (peanut butter and almond bite) is really good! Chocolate Carmel is my favorite. I'm also a fan of the plain milk chocolate molds because their chocolate is so good!!! Their displays are clean, fun, and clearly marked, allowing you to see everything and choose what you want. They have wrapped candies for every occasion, which are great gifts (even things for baby announcements)! read more

I have the biggest sweet tooth and this place never fails me. I'm pretty sure I came here about 3 times in one weekend. I'm addicted. They have a good variety of chocolate and they are generous with giving samples. They are friendly and always willing to help you pick out the best chocolates for you. I love their butterscotch squares and can eat them all day. I had to restrict myself from coming here so much. It was bad for my diet. read more

They make you feel like you're coming home and your home is filled to the brim with chocolates. Picked up an early father's day gift and my friend got a few chocolates to himself. This review is not for the candy which is always good but for the abysmal management of customers at the Broadway Plaza location. You cannot keep customers waiting outside for thirty minutes while you slowly serve two customers inside buying a bag of candy! No apology from the staff and no excuses. They are slow as molasses and allowing people to chat and dally. At this time efficiency and better customer service is essential. Your in store staff doesn't seem to know how to keep it all moving. The chocolates were great!---the service not so much... There were 2 people working the counter and 2 other customers in the store. When it was my turn to order I wasn't sure where to start --as it was my first time at a See's Candies. I let the person know I was a new customer and needed a little extra help. She was obviously not having a good day and was plain rude, never asking me whether I wanted a sample (even though everyone around me got one), deeply sighing as I chose each piece of chocolate for my box, and snapping at me when I asked questions. I had received a lb. of chocolates as a gift and what should have been a nice present turned into a terrible experience. I would never buy a certificate for a friend if I knew they were going to be treated the way I was treated that day. read more

Very helpful staff and willing to accommodate my many selections for 1 lb boxes. The server filled a total of 10 boxes with 12 selections in each, and offered samples for me to taste before I decided on several selections. Then she gift wrapped them all, decorating with an elastic ribbon. I asked and got Thank You stickers as well. Even though the store was busy at times, the staff worked quickly and courteously, exuding the holiday spirit in creating a friendly atmosphere. Several new selections premiered this year, all GOOD. What a little surprise to find a See's when you cut the corner of California Pizza Kitchen and Starbucks! Am I the only one who feels ultimate tranquility when I walk into a See's store?! The aroma in the air is just so factory like, I love it. I feel like a kid in a candy store! No pun intended. One gal is my fav but I don't know her name. She's so friendly, she offers samples which is such a relief. Sometimes I feel like a spoiled brat asking to try a few chocolates, lol! Anyways, love the rocky road bar. Peanut Brittle all the way! My favorite candy is the California Crunch. Go in, enjoy a free sample, but don't be rude! I've seen too many people go in and demand their free sample and don't even buy anything. It's not that serious folks. Mary See would not be happy with that type of behavior. Great variety of chocolate mixed candy. All " just chocolate " were molds (hearts and Easter). Lollipops last a long time-great for chocolate lovers on a low calorie budget! Chocolates from this shop cause extreme diarrhea. Over the course of the last year, my husband, my 3 year old daughter and I have all gotten sick on various chocolates. I don't know if it's all locations (as this is the only one we go to) and I don't know if there are specific chocolates offenders, but this last episode my 3 year old had to stay home from preschool because her diarrhea was so bad - I finally believed what my husband has been saying for months. OMG,this place is heaven! I love see's and the chocolate is to die for! it is hard to decide which ones I like,the caramels,truffles,or fudge and more. just be aware that if you go in,you will have a hard time deciding too! I like that they give you a sample and are very patient with customers as they agonize over what they choose. always a treat to go in here. it is the only candy store left in the Mall. there used to be a Ghirardelli's in the center years ago. highly recommend it,and do remember it is now on the backside of the mall. read more

The lady that helped me was very kind. I was waiting in line for about 20 minutes. Had been helped and the lady was wrapping up my chocolate as I moved down to the cash register since I had 3 other chocolate items to purchase. Another lady working there looks at me and goes "excuse me you need to wait in line!!" Mind you I had just waited in the line for 20 + minutes and was being helped. As I explained that to her, the person behind me she was helping started explaining that I had been waiting in line. It would've been fine if she sincerely apologized but she said nothing. How rude!!! I will likely not be back to this location because the lady was such a horrible person. You guys need to learn basic customer service. I'm not expecting Starbucks customer service, but I do expect basic respect and decency for a paying reoccurring customer. As I said, I will likely never come to this location again. read more

One of the also very few places that I worked at where I would shop, yet, I also don't eat much candy at all. When I worked here this was a different location at Broadway Plaza. There wasn't many guys working at this location. I worked during the Holidays(Christmas) and trying to put candy away while the store was busy would be quite a challenge. One thing I noticed when I was working there, a whole lot of gals, at least then worked See's Candies as a second job, and the primary job they had was a Nurse. Candy for there patients, I would guess? See's makes great chocolate, there's another place in WC that is awesome. read more

While shopping for this holiday season I came across this place. When I first saw it, I wondered what it was. I actually thought it was a baking supplies reseller. I was pleasantly surprised when I went into this hole in the wall store. There was a sales person near the door handing out free samples to try out their chocolates and they had reasonable pricing for gift boxes of chocolate and nuts. The people were friendly and the wait to check out was short. The only downside was that there were too many people crammed in that tiny store which made it feel a little uncomfortable. read more

If you don't know See's Candies, oh man are you missing out. The greatest place to get gourmet chocolate candies. My favorites are the Milk Choclate Bordeaux and the Vanilla Nut Cream. Place has candies for every holiday. They get extremely busy during the major holidays like Valentine's, Christmas, etc. They run out of their chocolates too sometimes... like their bordeaux. They have a variety of other kinds of candies...not just the chocolates. read more

Like at all See's, the candy is delicious. The young lady who waited on me was friendly and efficient. She worked hard. I went in after walking around the plaza for the ARF event. I was pretty tired but the line was short so I thought this would be a good stop. But that poor employee was working ALONE! There's only so much she could do, and she was doing it as fast as she could. On a busy Saturday (around 3pm), with two big events going on nearby, the manager/owner/whoever, thought that it was okay to have only one employee working????? Pretty unfair to both the customers and that employee. During the very long wait in which my feet were aching, I saw an employee come into the store and go into the back. That's all I saw of her. So, my feet and ears (a screaming baby entertained us for a while) say take off three stars, but I'm taking off only one because that young woman worked fast, and gave each customer her complete attention once it was their turn. read more

I love See's Candies, BUT the service here was terrible. Got off work at Nordstrom, right next door, and popped in for some gifts. Line out the door, but not too bad. Made my selections, got to the cashier, she was nice. Went to pay with a $100 bill. She had to check with her manager, just doing her job. But came back and said she couldn't take it and asked if I had another form of payment. I asked to see the manager, he finally came out of the back. Looked like he was about 14. He was rude and said he couldn't see the watermark and wouldn't take it. yes, it may have been an old bill, but he did not have the magic pen to tell if it was real. Mind you this is Walnut Creek, there is lots of $ there and they had been busy all day. Not like they couldn't break it. So, I took my sample and left. Stupid kid lost out on a big sale. read more

Be prepared to be chastised and treated like a bad school-girl at this location!! Stopped in today to get a Valentine gift for my husband and kids. The store wasn't busy so it was perfect timing. I picked out 3 boxes of packaged chocolate and some small hearts. I got in the line which wasn't long- and was behind a lady buying few small things, with a lady waiting behind me. The lady rang up the customer in front of me, and then looked at the now long line (maybe 10 people) and asked me loudly and rudely If I had been in line. I told her that I had waited in line and this was echoed by the lady behind me. The lady at the cash then loudly stated that "THERE ARE ONLY 2 OF US WORKING, SO YOU NEED TO GO WAIT IN LINE BEHIND ALL THOSE PEOPLE ". I was frankly dumbfounded because I certainly was in line before those people all came in. I asked her if she expected me to go and wait behind the 10 people waiting for CUSTOM boxes of candy- and she said that "yes , because she didn't have time". I walked out- no See's for my family this Valentine's Day for first time ever - all because they can't seem to maintain a cashier and someone to make the custom boxes. Not sure what happened to basic respect and service with a smile, but I sure didn't get it at this location. If you are in a hurry- I recommend Rachel Dunn in Concord- amazing service and homemade chocolate - and true appreciation for the customer. read more
